Salvation Army Longview
This episode features Captain Tamara Robb who discusses the resources provided to the unhoused population of Longview and how the salvation army partners with other community resources to do the same. Capt. Robb also describes the programs currently ongoing and being created, while addressing the misconception that the salvation army does not serve the LGBTQ+ community. Care Coordination
This episode features long-time employee and care coordinator Romell Carpenter. Romell discusses the program's strengths and barriers and what services they use to support clients. While also walking us through her 27-year career with community healthcore and the many changes she's experienced during that time.

This Week's episode features crisis specialist Nick Wesson. In this episode, we discuss how IDD crisis services are different from behavioral health crisis services, as well as how the stigmas associated with IDD affect the services provided to this community and their families. IDD's Community First Choice & Vocational Apprenticeship
This week you can here from program manager Kathleen Newton regarding two of her programs within IDD services. Community First Choice allows the state to provide home and community-based attendant services and supports to Medicaid recipients with disabilities. While the new Vocational Apprenticeship program gives individuals the opportunity to build their skill set for the workforce. Police Outreach Service Team
This week features one of Community Healthcore's community partners, Longview Police Departments POST officer Byrdsong. Within this episode, Officer Byrdsong talks about his role as an outreach officer, what led him to this position, and the benefits of expanding his department. This discussion also covers the current training new recruits receive to better equip them for crisis situations or behavioral health calls as well as current leaders within the state who promote this way of policing.
Veterans Suicide Outreach
This week's episode features outreach coordinator Joy Lowe to discuss the CHC's new suicide outreach program. Topics include current statistics on veteran suicide and how this program supports not only the individual but their families as well.
Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI)
This year's final episode features one of CHC's TCOOMMI service providers, Kelsey Heichelheim to discuss what the program involves and how folks are referred. Within this discussion, Kelsey breaks down the levels of care and community partners she utilizes when working with clients, and how we as a society still have much to change regarding our prison systems.
Intellectual & Developmental Disability
In this week's episode, we hear from the CHC's IDD Program manager Sandra Taylor. Sandra takes us through the history of this population and the many services offered within their program and how individuals qualify. We also touch on why we as a society still have so much more to learn about IDD and how we can influence the process of change.
Veterans Program
This week's episode features Wallice Revalee, CHC's veteran supervisor. Mr. Revalee discusses the services provided for our community of veterans and future goals for CHC. As well as how to approach a veteran who seems reluctant to receive services and why it is important to have culturally competent staff.
Community Health Workers
This week's episode discusses the new Community Health Workerker program and how they serve the east Texas community. Discussions include what a CHW is and how they provide health knowledge, community referrals, social support, and advocacy to our fellow east Texans as well as, education regarding drug overdose and how the distribution of Naloxone could save a life.
PREV-NET
In this week's episode, we learn about CHC's substance us Prevention Network for Northeast Texas. Program manager Angelica Fuentes sheds light on how PREV-Net differs from the D.A.R.E program by educating individuals on the ways certain substances can affect the body, how relationships can be affected by addiction, etc.
LCDC Trisha Thompson
This week's episode features Trisha Thompson, one of CHC's licensed chemical dependency counselors. Mrs. Thompson discusses the different services provided for those struggling with substance abuse while also answering and debunking common stigmas about the SUD community.
Housing, ADRC & Veterans
This week's episode features Chesley Knowles CHC's housing and veterans services program manager. Mrs. Knowles sheds light on securing housing for our clients, some of the barriers for the unhoused community, and how education can affect how we assist our unhoused populations. Overall, this episode hopes to answer the questions of how easy it is for people to become unhoused and what services they would benefit from with enough funding.
Barbara Burnett & Self Compassion
This week's episode focuses on getting to know the CHC staff, where we sit down and discuss our professional's journey to Community Healthcore and all that they've learned along the way. The topic is self-compassion with a 14-year veteran of Community Healthcore who gives us first-hand examples of how to become more empathetic with ourselves.

Assertive Community Treatment Caseworker
In this week's episode, we learn about CHC's ACT team and what a day in the eyes of caseworker James Brumley looks like. You will hear James discuss the services he and other caseworkers provide for adults within the ETX community and how they are unique to the individual. By the end of this episode, we hope to have given you enough information so that you are more aware of the barriers our clients face in their everyday lives and how they benefit from our amazing caseworkers.
Crisis Services
This week's episode is a discussion between SWK intern Keely Hancock and Crisis program manager Jessica Cheshire regarding Community Healthcore's crisis services. You will hear Jessica shed light on the crisis team at Community Healthcore and what they provide for the East Texas community, as far as direct services, resource referrals, and community training.

Helping Children Cope with the Impact of COVID-19
