Construction Host - Episode 20 - Shaun Carter
In this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Shaun Carter, principal architect and founder of Carter Williamson. He is a structural engineer turned architect following his passion from his childhood which started by drawing sketches for his mum.
Shaun is also an advocate and educator who has tutored at most Sydney architecture faculties. An active member of the profession, Shaun is a former President of the Australian Institute of Architects (NSW Chapter) and a regular guest speaker and awards juror.
He shared his career journey and some of his passion outside work, including eating good food and wine with friends and family and occasional gardening.

In this episode, I spoke with Pat Jones, COO of the DULUX Group. He joined Dulux in 1995 and was appointed to his current position in May 2011. Patrick has undertaken various commercial and business management roles, including General Manager of Dulux Paints New Zealand from May 2008.
As a COO, he is responsible for the Dulux group strategy and motivating the 14 Direct reports. Despite having a very busy schedule, Pat often spends time on the road meeting clients and getting first-hand feedback.
During the interview, he shared his career journey, views on leadership and technology and some of his hobbies outside work, including fishing, running and occasional Netflix binge. Pat is down-to-earth and passionate about creating value for Dulux clients, small or big.Β
