Of New Beginnings & Calculated Risks with Oreoluwa
Happpyyyyyy New Year people!ššš
It's a new year and I'm(we're) pumped to be sharing the first episode of Construed for 2024.
I featured Oreoluwa Abdullai Enahoro in this episode as she shared on New beginnings and calculated risks. We discussed the privilege of a fresh start that a new affords, and how we can stay grounded in our goals through the year, even if we started off the steam of others or the euphoria of the new year.
I believe you'd learn a lot in this episode as it was with one of the wisest people I know.

Self-Love Vs Self-Mastery
In this episode of Construed, I shared on how we can redefine self-love for ourselves and not get carried away by popular culture.
So, I'm asking what is the greatest expression of self-love?
For me, I'll say self-mastery.
Pls, feel free to send audio messages or a DM on how helpful you've found this episode or any feedback you might have for me here on ā ā Twitter ā ā or ā ā Instagramā ā .

Pedestals & Superhumans
In this episode of Construed, I talk about meeting your heroes and the unrealistic expectations we have of strangers. Celebrity status does not bestow wisdom, so in choosing our mentors we must choose wisely. We must also not inherit the dogmas of our heroes when we meet them. It's okay to accept people in parts.
To the best week of our lives yet.

The Relativity of Hard Work | Hardship vs Hard work
Hi people, in this episode I spoke about how hard work is perceived differently across generations and how our goals should decide how hard we work and not our emotions or public opinion.
As we go into a new week, pls keep in mind that hard work is relative and only your goals can dictate how hard you should work.

And most importantly, beyond whatever I'm most grateful for, I'm most grateful to God for the gift of life and for everything I am and have.
Pls feel free to send a dm and also share the things you consider the tenets of your existence or even any feedback you might have for me here on Twitter or Instagram.

The Cure for Consumerism
Been a minute! Yeah I know, I've been busy (getting hitched**wink**wink**).
So in this episode, I spoke about consumerism and the need to break free from it. I also touched on the importance of differentiating between our needs and our wants.
Lastly, I made a short explanation on the different kinds of happiness and how this might impact how we approach consumerism.
I hope you find this episode helpful. See you next week.

Failing Forward | Lessons from Failure
Have you ever failed and felt so betrayed? Almost like you gave it your best, but it was not enough. Then you ask yourself, how much is actually enough?
In this episode of Construed, I shared a personal lesson from failure, how to rise above the shame of failure, and how it can be seen as a stepping stone. I explained how failing forward can be seen as an iterative process to get results and succeed.
I hope this episode helps anyone who has ever struggled with the fear of failure.

The Bane of Labels | Of ready-made philosophies & thought processes
Labels are lazy in most cases. And I have come to the personal conclusion that people who look for readymade philosophies, thought processes, and human experiences are very quick to take on labels.
In this short episode, 'Tunji Enahoro spoke on labels and why we must be intentional with the labels we take on.

The Responsibility of Privilege

The 80/20 Principle | When the little things matter.
In this episode, I talked about the 80/20 rule and it can be used to deal with procrastination and perfectionism. How the seemingly little decisions or tasks make up for most of our outcomes.
If you have ever struggled with prioritising your list of task or decision, the 80/20 principle is great framework to adopt.

Use This Gospel | For Money or Hope?
I hope this episode helps you approach evangelism in a more effective way and our life of faith as believers.
Have a great week

Indecision, the great scarcity of context.
I talked about one of the many factors that influence our decision-making process as humans, context, and I shared how this can sometimes be the source of indecision in our daily lives. It is not enough to get context, but we must be sure we didn't get it from unhealthy comparisons.
I hope the few tips I shared on how to handle indecision help anyone listening who is going through the same.

Your Investment Portfolio | New Year, New Money Part D
In this episode, I tried to expand on the investment side of this series. I mentioned a few practical considerations and psychology toward investing, especially as a young person just working their way up the investment ladder.
We should never forget that every investment comes at a risk and we should invest only what we can afford to lose.
