Begin with Soul Forgiveness
Being willing to have a clear heart keeps me in integrity. October declaration is "I forgive and free myself. I forgive and free others."
In this episode I read my poem In Your Judgment as an example of the inner dialogue we have with ourselves at times. This is also an opportunity to forgive yourself. In introducing the topic, I also share research that shows how healing it can be physically, spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially.
I did a search online and you may have done the same.
On https://www.cancercenter.com/community/blog/2020/12/learn-to-forgive
“Research shows that people who forgive are more likely to have higher self-esteem, lower blood pressure, fewer stress-related health issues, better immune system function and lower rates of heart disease, among other health benefits. But getting to a place where you are ready to forgive may sometimes seem impossible. Indeed, forgiveness takes a lot of work. You just have to be willing to do that work.”
- Identify the problem
- Recognize the impact of your behavioral choices
- Think about what you really want in a relationship
- Identify the cost of choosing not to forgive
- Take steps to begin your forgiveness journey
I found SoulShepherding.org
“Forgiveness is more than a decision — it’s a process of praying, sharing feelings with a confidante, and adjusting attitudes. It’s like peeling back the layers of an onion to go deeper in God’s mercy for others.
When we’re angry at an offender we need to realize that forgiveness is not only a gift of mercy for that person but a healing process for our own self. Forgiveness can lift depression, calm anxiety, cure bitterness, and promote peace and health. “I don’t agree with his 7 step process and will not share it
“The first step in forgiveness is the willingness to forgive. If you can state, despite your resistance, your willingness to see the spiritual innocence, the light in the soul of one who has harmed you, you have begun the journey to a deep and unshakable Peace.” Marianne Williamson

4 - Avoid heartbreak
Forget the cultural filters, forget the exterior trappings of a person stop, you from shedding your own mask and honor your soul. First understand your spiritual self. Be Free to Be yourself and pursue marriage detached from all of the masks. Allow self-trust and connect with someone on the spiritual level. Look beyond the answers and know that this is an opportunity to seek a new depth of understanding. Marriage is about whole free individuals creating a union.

Living in Your Purpose
Once you tune into our purpose, you can not turn it off. Sometimes your purpose leads to finding your life partner and then you have children. Or sometimes having a challenging life partner can lead to finding your purpose. Being a mother for some women is their purpose or because of motherhood, opens the door to it. It was that for me. What a beautiful melody to live in your purpose and be a mother!
My guests for my next episode have been called to their purpose through life experiences related to being a mother. We were recently on a panel discussion called Women in Leadership and Religion. During that conversation we developed an instant connection with their spirituality which is intertwined into who they are and how they show up in the world.
About my guests:

Vanessa is a professional counselor, entrepreneur, and owner of Brooks Consulting & Training Solutions LLC where she runs a spiritual consulting business. enrichment.
Vanessa has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and is a 1st year Doctoral candidate. Her life’s mission is to advocate for women’s empowerment & entrepreneurial freedom. Living in Your Purpose as a Mother
The purpose of this conversation is to awaken your soul to who you are being. Are you being your purpose? What is your world reflecting back to you? Edie and Vanessa embrace their struggle with self-judgement and allowing self-forgiveness. We also touch on a symptom of being in our purpose leaning towards codependency.

We bring in current events and societal views of a woman's place. I began with this poem below:
Detox your mind!
It’s not normal to demean a woman,
What happened to being kind?
It’s no wonder that her knight in shining armor beat his behind
A woman’s crown 👑 is her highest expression
There’s no reason for it to be a source of aggression
Especially when her crown has been taken away by years of oppression
Let’s normalize building trust, compassion and peace
Until then reflect on why you are being a piece of the traumazting puzzle
You are just another spout of poison needing a muzzle
Don’t let the pomp and posturing confuse you
That’s how they continue to use you while they bemuse you with the duzzle
Shift into your higher self
Connect the dots and see the big picture
They can only trip you if you allow them to rewrite the scriptures
The scriptures of the soul know better
It knows to love and let her
Be Free!
What if You Didn't Have a Label?
What if You Had No Label? Through your life you have been identified by your grade level, age, birth order, or any other number of labels. Have you made those labels mean something to you?
Are you the person who attaches yourself to labels? Do you give yourself value accordingly? What stories are you creating for yourself and others?
This is something I have always struggled with...so believe the label or not to
To define myself with labels or not to
Have you struggled with this also? Or are you team labels and categories?
This is a great pre-recorded conversation with David Chambers about not having labels and diminishing the power of them. Listen for where you are in our conversation.

Don't Love Your Labels: Co Create with Them
In this conversation, Tyomi, Brandi and I dive into the heart of what labels mean. We unpack your responsibility with using or choosing them. When you believe your assigned labels, create story with it and create your own prison it renders you powerless. You have a choice to question the belief, detach from story and co-create in alignment with your purpose. Are you willing to empower yourself?
Are you willing to trust YOUR CHOICES? ARE YOU READY TO CO-CREATE?
For your consideration, don’t love the labels you have been assigned. Perhaps shedding layers through languaging will allow you to see, speak, hear and experience yourself differently. In the month of March, I explore the labels you require shedding for the elevation of your soul.
This March in celebration of revealing the true you, the theme is Don't Love Your Labels. We enter into this discussion with Brandi Junious and Tyomi Morgan! You met these two women last month in the Power Play of Love series.
Brandi is a Diverse, Equity and Inclusion Expert who also offers healing through art therapy. Tyomi is an Authentic Tantric Practitioner and renaissance woman.

- How do we free ourselves from this conditioning?
I am closing the series on the Power Play of Love with Dr. Vikki Johnson. https://vikkijohnson.com/
We started with an extreme breach of boundaries and then have completed the past two weeks examining the woman’s and man’s perspective on relationship and love. Every woman has a gift and that gift can impact the world. I am closing the month with Creating Healthy Boundaries.

The Power Play of Love
For this topic we will have a variety of full panel discussions. Last week we ended with how do you know it is time to go or that a relationship has expired? This week we pick up on what leads to divorce. I have chosen the Power Play of Love as this month's topic because you have the power to play full out or shrink. Playing full out is choosing to create a container which honors your values and desires until you agree to end it. No matter what leads to that end, you are always the one in power and have the choice to make it end. Sometimes divorce happens because boundaries are crossed too many times and healing becomes an individual endeavor. Sometimes it is due to one or both parties not stepping into their power to create in a way that honors who they are. In any case there is no excuse for domestic violence. This episode will touch on the power play of love in cases of domestic violence defined as emotional, psychological, financial and physical abuse. Sexual Responsibility Starts with Self- Love
This month on the Free to Be Show, we have pulled back the layers on Self-love.
The first week it was about creating it
The second week how to coming home tonight
The third week how to use it as a tool of disentangling
And now tonight we dive into the rest of the story how do we choose to connect deeply with others in a healthy way…sexual responsibility starts with self-love
Sometimes we have opportunities to share our bodies and souls with others and we have to freely choose from a place of loving the awareness of our Self
Sexual connection is a blending of energies and souls.
What have you experienced ?
“It’s all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self love deficit.”
by Eartha Kitt
Healing is sexual…you read that correctly. Our sexuality is the core of our spirituality…and self-love is the highest form of spirituality. This conversation is not what you think it is going to be. It is according to who you BE…not who you are, only your beingness in the moment.
Join me and two dear friends of mine: Andrew and Tonya. They are from two of the sexiest parts of the world New Zealand and New Orleans.
Andrew Eggelton is a leading authority on Authentic Presenting and visionary behind ‘The Eggelton Presenting Method™’, a style of Presenting that re-invents the Speakers Experience, elevating it beyond the tropes of old school copy and paste to a deeper, more spiritual experience.
He dares Presenters to not only be World Class, but instead, redefine what World Class looks like.
He takes people into the craft where the space between the words is as potent as the words themselves and when they do speak, their words match the frequency of their Greatness, feeling the impact of each nuance. The goal is the Presenters internal world manifests both verbally and energetically on the outside, to draw the audience in and forever influence their hearts and minds.
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low, and we reach it"
Michelangelo
Tonya Freeman
Tonya Freeman is a healer, author, and mystic from New Orleans La.
In March 2020, her Massage Therapy practice halted abruptly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As fate would have it, Tonya seized a golden opportunity to be included in a pilot Community Health Worker initiative called “Resilience Corps” providing health information and resources to those in the community greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Courage, Love, Freedom and Transformation are the four foundational pillars that drive and influence her personal development and evolution.
Disentangling with Self-Love
Disentangling is a term used to describe the process of separating from an especially toxic relationship. How do you do that with self-love? It is actually the only way TO DO it! Unconditional love for yourself and extending that to your partner is the only way out alive.
Join me and Veronica Safoa Owusu who is a Master Teacher, Educator, Instructional designer, a deep dive mindset coach and an Impact Course Creation Strategist.
Consider disentangling as being like a lotus…
Be like a lotus
What I’m about to tell you, you already know this
She grows out of mud like your shadow self
and like your shadow experiences
The you you truly are starts to make appearances
The #Divine #power of creating from what humans perceive as waste
is transmuting the collective consciousness about women with haste
As you emerge from the darkness of others perceptions, it feels like extreme mood swings and low vibration
Those are just distractions
And the truth is it is a necessary element for your elevation and attraction
It is the strength in your possibilities
It is the awakening of your abilities
All of them and their fragilities
Better get ready to experience our inevitability
Of the Being you are Being and so much more
You’ll be pulling in sh*t by your every pore
You’ll be blinding and confiding them with your Paladour
All their taxing and relaxing thinking you are done for
Will uproot and compost them all in one go
As you rise and get into your flow
That energetic circle of reciprocity pulls everything and everyone in that you desire
All else goes up in fire 🔥 only what you aspire for is a transparent veil
Say the word, open your hand to feel
Your word is real, a prayer, an incantation don’t you know?
More than a flower in mud, You are all the world is made of
Coming Home to Self-Love
It was joy to share how to choose #self-forgiveness, #self-nurturing and #joy over what you feel you are experiencing. Your words create your world so translate your world powerfully.
Invest an hour with us and allow yourself to come home to you with self-love as we will be diving more deeply into Coming home to You.
We begin with cherishing your world…inner and outer with Feng Shui. We talk about declaring and carefully curating your life with your words. We define healthy loving service and so much more.

Creating Self-Love is a Process
For this month I invite you to consider that self-love is THE highest form of Spirituality AND the key 🔑 to changing the collective consciousness.
Creating Self-Love is a process which requires extreme commitment, boundaries and forgiveness. Release the expectations, the judgement and the projections. Welcome compassion, trust and belief.
There are experiences in life which build your character and incubate a new level of dedication to this process. Many of you may have lived with grief, separation, divorce, job loss, income loss, asset loss, health loss and question your existence.
In the month of January on the Free to Be Show I will explore what it looks like to Create Self-Love and all of these opportunities listed above and more. Together with my guest Cordelia Spence, Herlene Ancar, Laura Staley, Veronica Owusu, Tonya Freeman see yourself in their shares and wisdom.
Cordelia Spence is an author, homeschooling mom of five, Life Coach for Divorced Moms and recent star of the critically acclaimed Brown Mamas.
Herlene Ancar is an author, mom of two, inspirational speaker and professor.
We have seen tonight how it has changed these Women's lives. One to recreate a marriage that was broken and one to step into her purpose, sustain her through a brutal divorce process and be a beacon of light for others.

Me vs Everyone Me for Muslim Women
In this pre-season opener, I welcome Toni Jones back to the Free to Be Show to explore her new album "Me vs Every Me"
Her over arching theme of self-love is referenced in every song. Self-love combats the core of psychological and emotional dysmorphia. It is the antidote to all that ills the souls of generational curses upon women, gender based violence that has found a home deep within the great-great-great-granddaughter’s psyche and thus driven to find light. The light is the remembrance of love...THE LOVE...the connection to the Oneness...Divinity.
Self-love is a thang!
Toni Jones so eloquently shares the iterations of embodying self-love through her art form. Our topic? Me vs Every Me for Muslim women not to the exclusion of everyone else it's so that Muslim women receive her message as a gift from the Divine.
Intrigued? Tune in!
This year I paused my award-winning podcast the Free to Be Show for deep introspection. What I shared above is a sample of my more raw revealing upcoming season. I will hold nothing back in terms of my world view, views of Black women, Muslims, policy changes, collective consciousness and the list goes on. The format will also change. Get ready to do some deep introspection and reframe how you are showing up. Are you truly Free?
How Your Sexuality Can Heal You
Previously published on the Life Coach Radio Network and Replenish Me Show 9/12/2018
We all have a role to play. We all came out of the earth, however way you want to see it, for a divine reason. Our lives are more than just about us, and the relatively small perspective that most of us choose to take on on a daily basis. Many women are living half lives, half expressed, half baked. So many women are suppressing themselves now! It is time for women to allow themselves to really blossom. Trees and flowers never stop themselves from growing, they become ridiculously tall or bushy or wildly colourful and flamboyant. So too should women grow and bloom. Whether into great Oak trees or Daisys. Whether you serve to add beauty or to be the bridge to a greater understanding.
The healing begins with our perspective of sexuality. We will dive into how It is the worldly expression of our spiritual existence.

Women and Friendship - Strengthening our inner and outer sisterhood
This is an episode from my previous show called Replenish Me on the Life Coach Radio Network.
Carolyn Freyer-Jones has been coaching men and women in creating greater success, joy, and fulfillment for over fifteen years. Her coaching work emerged as a result of the value I received from the Master’s Degree Program in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica.
Swinging from intense inadequacy in her relationships to being controlling, she dove deep into spiritual perspective, a deeper connection to Self, and to purpose.
She discovered the perceptions and beliefs that her mother, father and two brothers did not love her (or not in the way I thought they should) were slowly dismantled. The pain transformed into Self-compassion, gentleness and a more loving, open-hearted and supportive way of being.
After the birth of her daughter, Lucinda in 2008, she started to have a vision for what a life of full-time coaching could look like and how it could allow me to have a more flexible schedule where my work time could be built around my daughter’s life
In November of 2010, she launched her full-time coaching practice. Within Soul-Centered Professional Coaching Program at the University of Santa Monica and had the privilege of developing the University of Santa Monica’s Soul-Centered Professional Coaching Program with Drs. Ron and Mary Hulnick, Steve Chandler, Michelle Bauman, and Stephen McGhee, and I was one of the lead faculty members for the Program for 3 years.
She has now launched CFJ Coaching Success School My husband, John and I have been married for over 20 years. One of our favorite things to do is to spend time with our 10 year old daughter Lucinda, laugh, avoid cleaning the house, travel, and drink coffee.

The Roots of Institutionalized Racism w/ Frank Z. Jordan
Here are some highlights to listen for:
- Listen for roots of deconstructing the psyche of a people
- Monetizing blackness
- How the healing can begin
He is the author of six published history books, two of which are best sellers. He has received numerous writers awards, including "The Nat Turner Book Of The Year Award", at the Nat Turner Library in South Hampton, VA. He is also a highly sought after lecturer at numerous universities including Howard University, and NC State.
Mr. Jordan’s journey began as a child seeking the closest neighborhood library. Back in 1989 some great mentors at the Israelite Hebrew school piqued his interest in fascinating unmentioned history. This experience changed his worldview and self-perception. Through his research he discovered that Black history grossly misrepresented and made it his life’s work to not traditionalize himself with the “American” way. It also began his journey to spiritually disconnect from the public school taught him and opened his mind to understanding.

How to Create Your Sanctuary
Everyday is a new opportunity to create. Why not build a psychological space just for you? In this space you, establish boundaries with your words, actions and choices consistently. All that you truly desire lives at the end of your tongue, the food you eat, the people you allow in, the people who don't have that privilege aspire to it...I am describing your sanctuary.
Join me to know more of what it is, how you can create it and why you need it.
I have also invited a special guest who has created a sanctuary for herself and community during 2020. ANDREA SANCHEZ, a communications professional and personal leadership enthusiast for over 20 years, has made it her life mission to create inclusive communities to inspire and empower people to own who they are. Courageous Leadership: w/ Peter and Mira Griffiths
We start my defining some commonly used words:
Authentic
Confidence
Vulnerability
Then we dig a little deeper into transformation of the heart. The truth is people are so busy trying not to feel or face their feelings, they run from their humanity. The moment you allow yourself to lower the “deflector shield” it brings you closer to people.
Creating psychological safety is easier than we all think. Surprisingly we land with Love is the Answer. Courageous leadership is simply “Recognizing when you get it wrong and see yourself, admitting it as a leader and then pause to connect on a human level.” Tune in for that golden nugget and so much more!
Through continual exploration to transform people's lives for the better, Mira and Peter went on a journey of curiosity to explore the mind and what it means to be ok, from a psychological perspective.
With both of them having Leadership roles in the past, they understood what it takes to show up creatively and be an authentic leader in today's challenging and often confusing landscape. Their experience uncovered a systemic lack of humanity in the workplace, high levels of stress and pressure, plus a lack of clarity of how to find a way forward.
Having discovered what it means to lead, be of service and impact the people around them, they decided to guide others, and offer coaching and mentorship to those bold enough to make lasting changes in their lives and regenerate, rather than sustain the world around them.
We freed ourselves from tools, modalities and steps. By letting go of trying to control our thoughts and feelings. We are co-writing a book about authentic leadership. The made up self and ego of having to be one way or another.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - Intersectionality
- Listen for lessons from 2020 to help your organization
- How you as an individual can show up as an Ally
- What to bring into 2021
She sheds light on a different view of intersectionality. Some questions that surface are: Should we rethink IEP? and How do public school administrators and teachers view students in that program? What should be the vetting process for these administrators? Is it a behavioral issue or hunger?
We talk about how she struggles as a high school and college student with “the triple threat” (woman, disable and black) with a unique worldview as an American raised in Germany. She was able to witness and blow the whistle the brokenness in the educational, federal and state level government propelled her to pursue a career in DEI.

How to Respect, Honor and Love Yourself Through Sexual Awakening
Identifying her spiritual abilities coincided with her discovery that she was “being lived”. Having been in a heterosexual marriage for 15 years, she found that was the biggest lie deep dow.

- Is your sexuality the other side of your spirituality?
- The freedom of seeing yourself in self-compassionate, calmness and joy
- What does it mean to reconnect with your higher self?
- Nurture your soul and suffer less
- Honor your vibration, emotions and feelings
We end with an Invitation to sit and feel who you are.

Trust the Process with Vikki Johnson
This episode is the most relaxing, enlightening 45 minutes of your day! We have such a deeply spiritual and reflective conversation. Listen as Dr. Vikki Johnson shares her self-discovery through allowing her intuitive gifts. As she became and is still becoming, she learned the vocabulary of transformation first through muscle memory and eventually through serving others.
She lovingly sees her adversity as lessons, projection and preservation of her gifts. During her sports career in basketball and volleyball. Leaning into being and breathing. We recorded on the 19th anniversary of 9/11.
Hear yourself in her “other worldliness”
Dr. Vikki Johnson is a transformational speaker, chaplain, best-selling author of 12 books, Emmy Award winning media executive and the CEO of Soul Wealth LLC. Her most recent book, "Soul Wealth: Finding Vision, Compassion, Authenticity, Abundance And Legacy In The Midst Of Chaos" was released August 2019. She also leads an “online community” with lots of in-person engagement. She mentors women leaders as they build their own tribes and grow their own businesses. A graduate of Howard University, Dr. Johnson mentors women to break up with the status quo in their lives; to be great in the mirror first, then amazing in the marketplace. Her mission and passion is to strengthen relationships among women by sharing life strategies for next level results.

the Game Changing Art of Self-Nurturing with Devon Bandison
Devon so generously shares his defining moment to free himself from what’s accepted and expected. We of course talk about how to use your emotions as a barometer and not an inconvenience. We talk about the power of love and how we can use it to reshape our world from the inside out. This is the most 35 minutes of your day.
Here are some highlights to for:
7:30 Why is Self-nurturing important
10:30 How your words create your world
20:20 What is the Game Changing art of self-nurturing
Tonight it’s my honor to introduce you to someone who I admire and is quite simply a gift to humanity. We met in June 2020 during his Co-Creating the Bridge event which was his invitation for humanity to improve race relations after the George Floyd killing in May. During his event he encouraged participants to silent journal on what their stone in the bridge would be to build in their community. This comes as no surprise as he is a world renown transformational life and business coach who has created The Game Changer Event held every year in his hometown NYC and California.
Amongst his accomplishments is that he is a loving, involved father of three and best selling author of 'Fatherhood is Leadership'.
