On the Season 2 premier of Her Salti Words, Corina and Heidi discuss the journey one takes into self discovery and understanding. Heidi shares how she settled into Idaho, how books and alone time influenced her love for writing and performing, and how choosing to look at the dark parts of oneself allows for the exploration of mind and body. Heidi also shares ways communities can support one another to create space for everyone to make art and engage.

On part two of this episode, Zoe digs deeper into her journey on being of service in the creative community. She opens up about healing from trauma and shares how she met her partner, Elliot Norton, and their journey as a couple. Corina and Zoe discuss ways men can be an ally to women and how she seeks ways to provide space and support, creatively, to women of color in the film and theatre community.

She talks about service to others and how self reflection, kindness, forgiveness of self is key to growing into the person you are meant to be. 

On this episode of Her Salti Words, Laura shares her journey on finding balance and being grounded both as a human and performer. She opens up about her experience as a female in the corporate world vs. the creative world and how she made sure that her voice was heard as a manager in the corporate setting. She describes her favorite projects and ways women can support each other creatively. Corina and Laura discuss how looking at the female experience through the lens of being human might help open the conversation to include more participation and allyship.  

In what should have been the inaugural episode of Her Salti Words, Dr. Gail shares her journey through academia and the process of discovering her love for language. She talks about her work with the Refugee Community in Boise, Idaho and the importance of accommodating curriculum/teaching to the student's ability to speak English. Dr. Gail also touches on how language is used politically, her experience as a female in academia, kindness and how environment plays a role in shaping one's life.

Dr. Gail is an Associate Professor at Boise State University. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Oberlin College and a Phd in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona.

Corina and Katie talk how finding yourself includes embracing all the parts of being human. Katie shares her journey to California, the challenges that came with finding one's place, and how returning to Idaho provided an opportunity to build a creative space. They dive into how the female experience can differ for every woman creatively and professionally and how it's important to talk about the uncomfortable things, especially when it comes to mixed signals between men and women.

Corina and Erin talk all things human. Erin dives into the challenges of being the only female Lighting Design Major and Master Electrician while pursuing a degree at Central Washington University. She shares how overcoming self doubt became her biggest accomplishment, her journey from Architecture to Theatre to Speech Therapy, and how vulnerability is key to becoming the strongest version of yourself.
