ESG and Responsible Investing

ESG and Responsible Investing

ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investments is a trend trend towards sustainability, originally brought about by millennials.

Sustainability and responsible investing addresses two of the biggest challenges of our time: Climate change and Social inequality.

More and more Asset Managers are incorporating ESG into their asset allocation process. Physical climate risks are creating a sense

of urgency not seen before and ESG factors are forging greater efficiencies and technological innovation, leading to investing in

ESG-focused companies.

In todays discussion with David Levinson and Marc Garnitz from Nedgroup Investments, we try to unpack what this trend is all about and why it is becoming increasingly popular

What is a behavior gap

What is a behavior gap

In todays Episode I'm joined by Rone Swanepoel from Morningstar to discuss Morningstar's insights into the behavior gap. Put simply the behavior gap is the gap that exits between what returns we as investors achieve versus the investments we are invested in. Yes there is a difference and this difference is what we look at today

These are some of the show notes that we spoke about

We chat about manager selection as well as market segmentation ( IE which sectors of the market are giving what returns)

In 2 weeks we will go back to behavioral and start chatting about Carls book the behavior gap
