That's Outrageous

That's Outrageous

By Anne & Crissy

Driving dogs, Czech nudists, role playing sex cards - these are just a few of the things that co-hosts Anne and Crissy find outrageous. Each episode brings stories from around the world of life's oddities and eccentricities which the ladies then dissect. And as a special bonus, each episode features a segment inspired by the patron saint of this podcast, the outrageously under-rated Patrick Muldoon. It's a mixed bag to be sure but by the end, you'll be feeling nothing if not outraged, in a good way.

Season 4 Episode 9: An exclusive interview with the man who inspired the Sandy Lyle character in "Along Came Polly"

Season 4 Episode 9: An exclusive interview with the man who inspired the Sandy Lyle character in "Along Came Polly"

Coming off of last week's episode regarding "Along Came Polly", the podcast was inundated with messages regarding the man who is rumored to have inspired Philip Seymour Hoffman's character, Sandy Lyle in the film. So this week, we bring to you an exclusive interview with Steve, college housemate of the film's director, John Hamburg; past performer of Judas in a community theater production of  "Jesus Christ Superstar" and former habitue of the NYC pick-up basketball scene.  Take a listen to Steve's story and draw your own conclusion as to whether or not this tie is real or imagined.

Plus, Anne reveals something about her past that even Crissy never knew. It's a week of reminiscing and revelations!

You definitely want to take a listen to this one!

Season 4 Episode 8: The conclusion of "America's Sweetheart" month with Jennifer Aniston and some real outrage

Season 4 Episode 8: The conclusion of "America's Sweetheart" month with Jennifer Aniston and some real outrage

This week will once again have you shaking your head at what goes on in this world. We start with the story of a man who broke into a convenience store but left something intentionally behind. Plus, we had the story of a new bill being proposed to lessen prisoners' sentences in exchange for what??? And the culprit in a string of animal kidnappings from a Dallas zoo has finally been found.

And after much debate, we chose the final "Sweetheart" of our "America's Sweetheart" month - Jennifer Aniston. We discuss her comedy with Ben Stiller, "Along Came Polly". Do you know which of Jen's co-stars was the only man she did more than one film with? (up until she just reunited with Adam Sandler in "Murder Mystery 2" - which is on Netflix so not sure that even counts)

February was a quick one. Hope you loved these episodes as much as we did.

Thanks for listening!

Season 4 Episode 7: America's Sweetheart Julia Roberts and perhaps the most outrageous story to date

Season 4 Episode 7: America's Sweetheart Julia Roberts and perhaps the most outrageous story to date

Though this week we talk about the most "America's Sweetheart" of all the Sweethearts, Julia Roberts, one news story really stole the show. Anne was so outraged by this story that she nearly hyperventilated. It has to do with a wedding, the best man and his wife and that's all you'll get out of this description.   The second story this week has to do with a woman who rebuffed a man's romantic overtures, agreed to go to therapy with him for 2 years (!) to discuss why she only saw him as a friend and after all that, he sued her.  Think about it - that was the second most outrageous story this week. I mean the first one is a real doozie!

Plus, we discuss "Notting Hill," the romantic comedy that paired Julia with Hugh Grant. Not sure the movie held up over time but it did bring up an interesting thought - does it matter if Julia has chemistry with any of her leading men? Are they just appendages to her star power? See what we have to say about it.

According to "Horse and Hound" magazine ("Notting Hill" reference), this podcast gets 5 stars. So rate and review!

Season 4 Episode 6: "While You Were Sleeping" we did this podcast about Sandra Bullock

Season 4 Episode 6: "While You Were Sleeping" we did this podcast about Sandra Bullock

Is there anyone alive who doesn't like Sandra Bullock? This week we take a look back at her rom-com history with a focus on the one that arguably put her on the America's Sweetheart map, "While You Were Sleeping". Is everything about this movie unrealistic - from the basic premise to fact that Bill Pullman gets the girl? Yes. Do we still love it? Yes, yes we do. And see if you agree that "The Proposal", another Bullock classic, basically took the plot of this film, changed a few things and no one seemed to notice ( could have been called "While You Were Sleeping We Stole the Plot of This Film".)

Plus, we have not one but two stories about pigeons (one a victim of a Michael Bay film, the other, a drug mule or in this case, drug pigeon). And we talk about the man who spent thousands of dollars to have a very realistic wolf suit made so he could escape human relationships. You can't make this up.

Please say "I do" to this week's ep and take a listen!

Season 4 Episode 5: The start of America's Sweetheart Month with the films of Meg Ryan

Season 4 Episode 5: The start of America's Sweetheart Month with the films of Meg Ryan

For one month (the shortest one at that), Anne is allowing Crissy to pick the films. So get ready for a month of America's Sweethearts in their most notable rom-coms. First up is perhaps the Grand Poobah of them all, Meg Ryan and her classic, "When Harry Met Sally". If the film were titled, "When Anne Met Harry", it would have been a short as she feels nothing but irritation for him. But we discuss Meg's best leading men, if men and women can in fact be friends and also one of her lesser known films, "Joe vs the Volcano". It's jam packed.

Plus we cover all the news you may have missed this week such as the Florida burglars who called the police on themselves, a man given quite the value meal at a drive thru McDonalds and Mississippi toddler who ate the family pet (none of the blame goes to the toddler).

We have a lot of love for this one - hope you do too!

Season 4 Episode 4: The movie Anne found completely outrageous with special guest, Sydney who hopefully still considers us a friend

Season 4 Episode 4: The movie Anne found completely outrageous with special guest, Sydney who hopefully still considers us a friend

This week we have outrage a-plenty and in this case, it's aimed at our guest! Our very wonderful friend, Sydney suggested we watch "Fun with Dick and Jane," the 2005 Jim Carrey/Tea Leoni film. So naturally we invited her on the podcast to talk about it. Well, none of us could have predicted the outrage that Anne decided to launch in Sydney's direction for the audacity of suggesting the film. It's something.

Plus, patients of a medical practice receive a very traumatic holiday message...by mistake! A plane headed to Sydney winds up in Samoa (find out what happened next) and a woman on a New Delhi flight gets a very warm surprise - not a good one.

It's an episode packed with big feelings. Let us know how you feel about it!

Season 4 Episode 3: Jen Van Epps, one of the stars of the box office hit, "M3gan"!

Unless you've been living under a pop culture rock, you have no doubt seen or heard about the surprise box office hit, "M3gan". You know, the one with the doll with the killer dance moves and the killer instinct? This week we are beyond thrilled to have one of the stars of the film, Jen Van Epps on the podcast! Jen fills us in on this little movie that could - surpassing all box office expectations to be only second to "Avatar" several weeks running. We find out the inside scoop on the filming, the technology and people that brought M3gan to life and how  moving to New Zealand changed the course of Jen's acting career for good. Jen is a sheer delight, the movie is highly entertaining and this episode is one not to be missed!

Plus, can you guess which post on Instagram just became the most liked in the world? Hint: It's not M3gan, but give it time, it could be.

We usually thank you for listening but this week, you might want to thank us :) It's a good one!

Season 4 Episode 2: A genuinely good movie, "Moonstruck" plus all sorts of trouble on 4 wheels

Season 4 Episode 2: A genuinely good movie, "Moonstruck" plus all sorts of trouble on 4 wheels

Two weeks in a row and "That's Outrageous" is reviewing another good movie - though as Anne says, all the movies we review are good to somebody. The object of our adoration is arguably a classic, "Moonstruck". Famous lines from this movie come fast and furious and it would be hard to find anything not to like (Anne does find exactly one thing though - and you'll never guess what it is).

Plus, we talk about the miraculous survival story of a couple who's car went off a California road and plummeted 300 feet, the story of a crazed Argentinian fan who hijacked a bus to see his country play a World Cup match and the young Nigerian immigrant who is making big moves in the chess world.

We are definitely on a roll to start the year and I hope we don't "snap out of it!"

Season 4 Episode 1: Florida man has a bad idea, British man and American woman write a lot of letters and the classic film, "Clueless"

Season 4 Episode 1: Florida man has a bad idea, British man and American woman write a lot of letters and the classic film, "Clueless"

Here we are  in 2023 and the world does not disappoint to bring us more outrageous stories to ring in the New Year! This week we cover the story of a Florida man who decided to shoplift at a Walmart at a very bad time, a dog at a Walmart (this one in Texas), who decided to go for a ride and a British man and an American woman who decided to become pen pals over 80 years ago. Their feelings about the massive endeavor will definitely surprise you.

Plus, we re-watched the film, "Clueless" with Alicia Silverstone in her signature role. There is a lot that endures about this movie that's classic and a lot that rates pretty high on the cringe scale. As if! But we're willing to bet that as sure as Cher changes her outfits 62 times, you'll find this one charming.

Thank you for listening. We're looking forward to a great year ahead!

Season 3 ep 49: An encore of our most popular episode of the year!

This week we are bringing you an encore of our most popular episode of the year! If you loved it, take another listen. If you missed it, now is your chance to find out what everyone's been buzzing about!

Here's what's included:  First, a story we still don't understand no matter how many times we read it...a woman could collect $5.2 million from GEICO for having unprotected sex in a car and getting an STD. Yes, you read that right. And we discuss the viral video of an overzealous Disneyland park employee ruining a young couple's engagement for reasons that have never been made clear. Plus, the Aero 360 amusement park ride did anything but amuse its passengers on one recent trip.

Then, can you name the 2010 movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson? What's that you say? Never heard of it? How could that be? These are all the questions we had as well when we stumbled across this forgotten romcom called, "How Do You Know". And now that we've seen it, we have some answers.

Thank you for listening and don't forget to like and subscribe as the kids say! 2023 is right around the corner!

Season 3 Episode 48: the baker who saved Christmas, the Grinch in the front seat and the 2006 film, "Last Holiday"

Season 3 Episode 48: the baker who saved Christmas, the Grinch in the front seat and the 2006 film, "Last Holiday"

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah! This week we are bringing good tidings and cheer (very unusual for us). We start with Anne's list of the 12 Muldoon movies that should be on your list this season (it's not without controversy). Then we discuss the baker in the UK who's doing his part to help bring joy to his community, a dog named Van Gogh who's living up to his name and a Grinch who's not where he's supposed to be.

And we finish our Christmas movie marathon with Queen Latifah in "Last Holiday".  This 2006 film definitely flew under the radar but could not be more delightful. As Anne would say, "It's got Latifah, LL Cool J, Gerard Depardieu - what more could you want?" Good question.

We wish all of our listeners a very happy holiday and hope part of your down time is spent with "That's Outrageous" (Christmas is all about shameful plugs :)

Season 3 Episode 47: It wouldn't be Christmas without Muldoon!

Season 3 Episode 47: It wouldn't be Christmas without Muldoon!

Each year, people clamor for Anne's "12 Days of Muldoon" list. In honor of that list (coming soon to our IG page), we have reviewed a Muldoon/Denise Richards TV movie, "A Christmas Reunion". The plot may sound familiar: big city gal returns home to revive the bakery her beloved aunt left to her though she has no baking skills and her aunt didn't bother to give her any notice that she was dying. Add to that, one Patrick Muldoon, her ex-boyfriend who (spoiler alert) was left as co-owner of the aforementioned bakery and flour will fly. You've got to hand it to these Muldoon movies, there is no shortage of things to talk about - and we do.

Plus, we talk about the monastery left without any monks for a very surprising reason. The woman who faked labor to force a plane to land. And that KPop star you love - is she/he human or riding the AI wave? We'll break it all down.

This one had us laughing - let us know if it brings you merriment.

Season 3 Episode 46: Our top list of Christmas movies - is your favorite on it?

Our Spotify Wrapped results are in and the news is good! What we thought was a struggling podcast turns out to be a qualified success! We're in the top 30% of podcast followers. Granted there could be fuzzy math going on here but who are we to argue with Spotify? So thank you for listening and for continuing to listening (and please tell a friend, or twelve - and write a review before Anne self-destructs).

This week, we are talking Christmas lists (and not the kind that result in gifts under the tree). Crissy examined 7 "top" lists for Christmas films and the ladies discuss the ones that appear most often. Can you guess which was number 1? Plus, they highlight the 1984 film, "Gremlins", another popular choice for some and look at it through 2022 eyes. And, Anne has her list of favorite Christmas films and Crissy has hers. Bet you can guess which of them put "Yeti" near the top - but you first likely have to look up "Yeti".

This is a fun one - our gift to you :)

Season 3 Episode 45: the classic "A Christmas Story" and its new sequel, "A Christmas Story Christmas"

Season 3 Episode 45: the classic "A Christmas Story" and its new sequel, "A Christmas Story Christmas"

This week Anne and Crissy were very dismayed to hear that podcast darling, Denise Richards, had been involved in a serious road rage incident with her husband in LA. This was no plot to her next Muldoon collaboration but a real life scare. Find out what happened. Plus, an 8 year old walks home alone and his mom gets arrested? And a man plays the saxophone while undergoing brain surgery? You can't make this stuff up, but you can surely listen to us talk about it.

And...turn on the TV anytime this month and you're bound to stumble upon a viewing of the classic film, "A Christmas Story." Now it's sequel is out on HBO Max and the ladies decided to take in a double feature of the original and this new edition, "A Christmas Story Christmas." Just as Flick's tongue got stuck to the pole in the original, you will be glued to their take.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...to listen to this podcast!

Season 3 Episode 44: Mermaids to the rescue, man plays dead to fulfill a wish and Lindsey Lohan makes a comeback with "Falling for Christmas"

It's Black Friday and hopefully you are buying what we are selling! This week we cover the story of a man rescued by mermaids - he couldn't believe it either. Plus another man who played dead for a full year to fulfill one of his life's goals and a house that is haunted by prostitutes? Anne fully believes this one - Crissy can't see it.

And Lindsey Lohan is back with a new film on Netflix, "Falling for Christmas." Jack Wagner is playing her dashing father and Chord Overstreet her love interest. It's basically a kinder version of "Overboard" and we are ready to dive right in.

It's the kickoff to our holiday movie month! Deck the Halls with That's Outrageous.

Season 3 Episode 43: Our Thanksgiving movie recommendations and "the dunners" phenomenon

Season 3 Episode 43: Our Thanksgiving movie recommendations and "the dunners" phenomenon

This week our "news" section is chock full of stories that leave you just asking, "why"? Why did someone think it was a good idea to try and bring a wild seagull into their home as a pet? Why do people lick a certain kind of toad in hopes of having a psychedelic's trip? Were they already tripping when they decided to lick the toad? And who are the people known in the TJ Maxx/Home Goods/Marshall's world as "the dunners"? Why are they getting into physical altercations over flour canisters? And more importantly, where can we get our hands on one of those canisters :)

Plus, we talk about the film, "Home for the Holidays". Directed by Jodie Foster and featuring a top notch cast, this movie is either an endearing classic or a real turkey - which side of the wishbone are you on? And in the spirit of giving, we serve up our favorite Thanksgiving movies whether you are at a happy gathering, a random potluck thrown together or one to be endured.  Something for everyone!

Next week we begin our month of Christmas films. We've already teed up the new Lindsey Lohan/Jack Wagner Netflix film, "Falling for Christmas". It's going to be so good! So sit back in that recliner and take it in before we talk it out.

Thanks for listening!

Season 3 Episode 42: Director, Jimmy Giannopoulos discusses his film, "The Birthday Cake"

Season 3 Episode 42: Director, Jimmy Giannopoulos discusses his film, "The Birthday Cake"

This week we have a truly interesting conversation with film maker and musician, Jimmy Giannopoulos. Jimmy's directorial debut, "The Birthday Cake" came out in 2021. He gives us the inside scoop on how he was able to assemble an all-star cast including Ewan McGregor, Luis Guzman and Lorraine Bracco. He gives us the dirt on why Val Kilmer (another star) threw a Batman doll at him  and he gives us the story of his improbable rise from bartender to director. We guarantee you will come away feeling inspired by Jimmy and his life views.

Plus, Halloween may be over but we discuss the very scary story of two wrestlers who found themselves in the match of their lives against a grizzly bear in the Wyoming woods. And the feel good story of the NYC cabdriver who accepted an IOU instead of money from a rider 9 years ago and just got his payback in a Dublin pub.

This week is a good one. Take a listen!

Season 3 Episode 41: When bees and bears attack, peeing on graves and Anne's BFF is back with "Teen Witch"

Anne's BFF Stevie is back to talk about the spellbinding 1989 high school movie, "Teen Witch". But in reality, we come to the conclusion that Anne is in fact under the spell of one, Pat Morita. It's a tragedy that Pat left this world without knowing the mystifying crush that a young girl in Delaware was harboring for him. Was Pat Morita in "Teen Witch"? No, but Anne can't help but bring him up as well as another older man, the dearly departed, Alan Thicke. The Morita/Thicke rivalry would have been one for the ages but alas we'll just have to wonder who would have won the battle for Anne's heart.

Plus, a woman's weapon of choice is a swarm of bees, a man pees on his ex-wife grave every day, and a bear gets blamed for a crime he didn't commit. And how much alcohol is too much? Only your Uber Eats driver can tell.

It's a wild, rambling ride this week - take a listen!

Season 3 Episode 40: "Rosemary's Baby" and the 3 other movies you need to watch this Halloween

We are days away from Halloween and so it was only fitting to have our resident horror film expert, Jack back on the podcast. Jack chose "Rosemary's Baby" which has been described as the "perfect horror film" to watch this week. This was repeat viewing for Jack and Anne - first time around for Crissy. See how their views on it compared. Plus, Jack runs down the 3 other horror films you must watch this Halloween season. His lists are never for the faint of heart!

And there's a witch hunt of sorts going on in a Michigan town over a middle school mural. See what subversive messages the school parents are claiming the high school sophomore who painted it are poisoning their children's minds. This has the makings of a real life horror movie.

Happy Halloween everybody and thanks for listening!

Season 3 Episode 39: The possessed priest and the horror classic, "Poltergeist"

Season 3 Episode 39: The possessed priest and the horror classic, "Poltergeist"

It is the 40th Anniversary of the Steven Spielberg* classic, "Poltergeist". Why the asterisk? Because Spielberg is credited with writing and producing the film but not directing it. That is just one of the controversies that swirl around this movie - along with the tragic deaths of two of it's young stars and the use of real skeletons in one of its pivotal scenes.

To break it all down, we were joined by FOP, Tanya Jones, life coach and producer extraordinaire. Tanya brought her own bit of trivia to the discussion with this question: which global pop star's step father is one of the featured actors in this film? She stumped both Anne and Crissy. See if you know the answer.

Plus we discuss the Spanish bishop who left the clergy for an erotic fiction writer and then became an exporter of quality pig semen. Lot to untangle there.

You'll want to "step into the light" for this one!

Season 3 Episode 38: Director Marc Meyers discusses his horror films, "We Summon the Darkness" and "My Friend Dahmer"

This week is a real treat, no tricks! We welcome back to the podcast director, Marc Meyers to discuss his horror film, "We Summon the Darkness" from 2019. This is horror imbued with humor - the best kind in our humble opinion. And with all sorts of movies and documentaries about Jeffrey Dahmer having a moment, we decided to also talk to Marc about his film, "My Friend Dahmer" which is the only film that can claim to have actually shot in Jeffrey Dahmer's childhood home. That is spooky in and of itself.

This is a real peek behind the curtain of movie making. We've got questions and Marc is answering all of them. So if you've been sick of hearing just Anne and Crissy blather on for the last few months, then this is the episode for you. We only blather for half the time while Marc takes the spotlight.

This is a good one!

Season 3 Episode 37: Halloween Horror Movie Month begins!

Season 3 Episode 37: Halloween Horror Movie Month begins!

This month fear is front and center as we begin our 2nd annual horror movie fest! As everyone well knows, Anne likes to zig where others zag so this week we are taking a look at the films, "Slumber Party Massacre" and "Slumber Party Massacre 2" (there is a "Slumber Party Massacre 3" for those with who are into self flagellation but we didn't go there). These Roger Corman produced slashers feature a drill bit happy killer and his very dumb high school victims. We'd say keep your eyes covered but these movies telegraph what's about to happen from a mile away - it's pure camp at its low-budget finest.

Plus, we discuss the Florida man who tried to escape a hurricane via jet ski, the nursing home who might have gone too far to entertain its residents and CatCon! What is CatCon you might be wondering? Well we did too and were surprised to find an A-list actor at the center of it.

Next week we will have director Marc Meyers back on the podcast to discuss his horror film, "We Summon the Darkness". You will  not want to miss that - but listen to this one first. It's scary good!

Season 3 Episode 36: The runaway balloon filled with pine nuts, Beyond Meat road rage and Nyquil chicken

Season 3 Episode 36: The runaway balloon filled with pine nuts, Beyond Meat road rage and Nyquil chicken

When you think about pine nut harvesting (and we're sure this takes up a lot of your time), does your mind immediately go to a hydrogen balloon? Because that's where two men went to get their salty fix and let's just say, they got carried away.

When you think of leaving your husband for your high school sweetheart, do you go with a Dear John letter or with an elaborate fake kidnapping plot? Because that's where one California woman went before she realized the prom was over a long time ago.

When you think of what to marinate your chicken in, do you reach for the medicine cabinet to pull out some Nyquil when perhaps a simple soy could do the trick? Because that's what "the kids" are doing all across America.

And when you think of how to wind down after a college football game, do you bite the end of the nearest nose to you? Because that's where the COO of Beyond Meat went - way beyond.

Take a listen and let us know what you think. It's short on time but does not skimp on value - that's our promise to you!

Season 3 Episode 35: Anne is triggered by the Queen, spinach is sending emails, a chimpanzee is riding a bicycle and the 1985 film, "Just One of the Guys"

Season 3 Episode 35: Anne is triggered by the Queen, spinach is sending emails, a chimpanzee is riding a bicycle and the 1985 film, "Just One of the Guys"

It took over 2 years but Anne and Crissy can finally claim to be "influencers". It's really remarkable and you'll just have to take a listen to find out how this came about.

Plus, would you give up your plane seat so a family could sit together? Have you ever gotten an email from a bunch of spinach? And would you ever guess that all a chimpanzee needs is a hug and a raincoat to make him happy? Or that a story about said chimpanzee would lead Anne to make a connection to the non-stop coverage of the Queen's funeral and thus send her into a rage? I believe the term "box of bones" was bandied about.

And no week would be complete without a discussion of an outrageously forgotten or forgettable film. I think this week we hit the mark on both counts with the 1985 film, "Just One of the Guys." Loosely based on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," this high school comedy has Billy Zabka (of course) in his requisite role of bad guy opposite a James Brown loving outsider - guess who gets the girl...and the dance lessons?

Season 3 Episode 34: the Brangelina source revealed, the recycled ring and the really intriguing Kilmer/Roberts/Muldoon film, "The Chaos Experiment"

Season 3 Episode 34: the Brangelina source revealed, the recycled ring and the really intriguing Kilmer/Roberts/Muldoon film, "The Chaos Experiment"

Remember in 2005 when pictures were published of Brad Pitt on an African beach with Angelina Jolie while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston? You'll never guess who tipped off the paparazzi to get that shot. And how you would feel if you fiancé proposed with the ring of his former fiancé? And would you have the keys to your car surgically implanted into your hand? These are the burning questions we answer before things really heat up with our movie of the week, "The Chaos Experiment" (also known as, "The Steam Experiment" depending on where you view it - the sure sign of a quality film.)

At "That's Outrageous" we have been neglecting the film canon of our patron saint, Patrick Muldoon for far too long. So when Anne stumbled upon this 2009 film, only available on Amazon, she not only had to see it, she had to buy 2 of the last 5 copies (act fast to get one of those precious remaining 3). Along with Muldoon, the cast includes Kilmer, Roberts (as in Eric, not Julia) and Armand Assante. There's much to discuss about this film that features a mentally disturbed doomsday believer (or is he a scientist?) who throws 6 sexy singles into a steam room to prove that the world is on an irreversible course with annihilation via climate change. I mean, what more could you want from 90 mins?

If Kilmer is right and the end of the world is near, you'll want to hear this episode before it's too late!

Thank you for listening,

Season 3 Episode 33: a famous face on a UK drug raid, evil kangaroos, and the beloved Rodney Dangerfield film, "Back to School"

Locals in Australia have taken to "speak(ing) softly and carry(ing) a big stick" and it has nothing to do with an appreciation of Teddy Roosevelt. Find out what's gotten them so jumpy.  Plus which famous person went along on a UK drug raid, seemingly for the fun of it? And, would you be offended if you were asked to pay an admission fee to a wedding?

And it's the time of year that kids dread and parents' rejoice: back to school. In honor of the beginning of a new year, we re-watched, "Back to School." Rodney Dangerfield does not disappoint in this 1986 film that holds up to this day. The only thing going against it? "Not enough Zabka" for Anne (as in William Zabka).

How refreshing to watch an actual good movie for a change. We hope you enjoy our take on it all!

Season 3 Episode 32: Ozzy Osbourne's got a lot to say, office workers are sleeping where? and the 1980s summer sex-capade, "My Tutor"

Season 3 Episode 32: Ozzy Osbourne's got a lot to say, office workers are sleeping where? and the 1980s summer sex-capade, "My Tutor"

This week Anne and Crissy wrap-up their summer movie marathon with the 1983 film, "My Tutor". When a movie begins with a song with lyrics like these:  "Your my tutor...teach me anything you want me to learn," while young women are gyrating in an aerobics class, you get a clear picture of where things are headed. Find out if this summer sleeper starring Olivia Newton-John's first husband, has been outrageously forgotten or if the plot line is just plain outrageous?

Plus, the ladies cover this week's world events - starting with Ozzy Osbourne's tale of a contentious conversation with a surprising foe, an even more surprising location office workers are taking a nap and tourist shenanigans caught on camera in Venice. As Anne would say, "it's a wild scene".

So pop those ear pods in and take a listen - maybe you'll learn something!

Season 3 Episode 31: the crying CEO, a stick-up at the Waffle House, and a tribute to Olivia Newton-John

Season 3 Episode 31: the crying CEO, a stick-up at the Waffle House, and a tribute to Olivia Newton-John

And we're back! After our summer hiatus, Anne and Crissy are energized and ready to resume what we love doing, this podcast. (Wasn't that your first guess?)

This week we have some outrageous stories starting with the biggest eye roll of all, the crying CEO. Then we move on to a would-be robber whose weapon of choice was his two fingers in the shape of a gun. You'll never guess what he was after. And the bride who was left at the altar when her future mother-in-law demanded the wedding be called off.

Plus, we pay tribute to one of Anne's absolute favorite singers, Olivia Newton-John. Anne runs down where she was when she heard the news of Olivia's passing and we discuss one of her cult films, "Xanadu". This fantasy on roller skates inexplicably co-stars Gene Kelly. It's a head scratcher to be sure but if you're into psychedelic drugs, this could be the one for you.

Good to be back - we hope you enjoy this latest episode!

Season 3 Episode 30: An A-listers flatulence, internet trolls demand an arm amputation, new LA bridge, new problems and the 1980 film, "The Blue Lagoon"

Season 3 Episode 30: An A-listers flatulence, internet trolls demand an arm amputation, new LA bridge, new problems and the 1980 film, "The Blue Lagoon"

Something's rotten in Hollywood - and this time it's reports of an A-listers stinky behavior on set. Any guesses as to who? Plus, a young woman endures calls from the internet to amputate her deformed, but functioning arm, LA has a new bridge and a whole new set of problems and we watched the 1980 film, "The Blue Lagoon". Neither Anne nor Crissy had seen this film starring a 14 year old Brooke Shields. It has now joined our growing list of childhood films that didn't seem problematic in the 80s but are fairly horrifying to the 21st century eyes. Kudos though to young Brooke for her sewing skills - that gal somehow managed to create several island looks from just the clothes on her shipwrecked back.

Anne and Crissy are taking a short summer hiatus to go on some much needed vacations. But we'll be back soon with more outrage!

Thank you for listening - and take this time to catch up on episodes you may have missed.

Our 100th episode! Celebrity well wishes, celestial sightings and the iconic bikini (we mean film), "10"

Our 100th episode! Celebrity well wishes, celestial sightings and the iconic bikini (we mean film), "10"

Most podcasts would be counting down until they reached their 100th episode...but not those of us at "That's Outrageous". This milestone crept right up on us. Luckily some of our celebrity friends did not forget and were kind enough to send Anne very sweet congratulatory notes. (Somehow Crissy was inadvertently and outrageously left out). But it's the thought that counts and when it comes to Eric Roberts and Jack Wagner, just to name a few, we'll take it.

Plus, we discuss signals sent from a galaxy far far away, a man who was saved at sea by a deflated soccer ball and the latest entrant into the Guinness Book of World records.

And somehow neither Anne nor Crissy had seen the Dudley Moore/Bo Derek film, "10". The biggest surprise was not the favorable reviews from the 70s but rather the fact that Julie Andrews was in this movie. Who knew? See what the ladies have to say about this very unlikely love triangle.

Thank you, thank you for listening! 100 episodes down - someone get us a glass of water.

Season 3 Episode 28: a zero star hotel, a Florida Man with zero clues, a paycheck with way too many zeros and the summer scare, "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

Season 3 Episode 28: a zero star hotel, a Florida Man with zero clues, a paycheck with way too many zeros and the summer scare, "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

Here's a tourism ad for you: come to Switzerland for some R&R. We have the perfect hotel: a platform bed next to a gas station, all for under $400/night. But wait there's a butler too! Sleep on it and get back to us in the morning. And if that's not outrageous enough, we also have the story of a Chilean man who was accidentally paid 30 years worth of salary in one month. What do you think he did? And a Florida man who was so determined to get a security job at Disney, that we went to criminal lengths to get it. Plus, we applaud a woman in her 50s who finally persevered in getting a full time job after 6 years of trying. Her story is inspiring.

And we continue our summer movie viewing with the 1997 scare-fest, "I Know What You Did Last Summer." This one's got it all: an attractive cast, many bad decisions and a killer who just won't die. Wasn't high school a great time?

Thank you for listening and always remember to wear sunscreen! That UV index will kill you.

Season 3 Episode 27: Summer trivia quiz, the hidden Burger King, the Carnival Cruise brawl and John Candy in "Summer Rental"

Season 3 Episode 27: Summer trivia quiz, the hidden Burger King, the Carnival Cruise brawl and John Candy in "Summer Rental"

This week's episode is about everything John Q Public loves (and for the record, we at "That's Outrageous" do NOT love the term "John Q Public" but it works in this context). First we talk about the absolutely delightful discovery of a Burger King frozen in time in a Delaware mall. Then we cover the multi-deck brawl that broke out on a Carnival Cruise at 2am (the best time to brawl) and we take a guess at the age of the oldest flight attendant. But the guessing does not end there! Crissy quizzes Anne on some fun yet trivial, summer trivia. See if you do better than Anne.

And finally we discuss the John Candy popcorn movie, "Summer Rental". How have we gone nearly 2 years without discussing John Candy is a head scratcher unto itself. But the time has finally come for this great man to get his due. This one's got Candy, Rip Torn and Richard Crenna - what could possibly go wrong?

We hope you enjoy this episode and as John Candy would say, "anchor's away" (he didn't say that but he could have since a sailing regatta features prominently in this movie. Taking some artistic license).

Season 3 episode 26: Tik Tok news stories, the buried wedding dress and the 1979 camp film, "Meatballs"

Season 3 episode 26: Tik Tok news stories, the buried wedding dress and the 1979 camp film, "Meatballs"

Let's say you found The One...and then you suspect you might be blood related to him/her? Would take a DNA test? Or what if you were on line minding your own business and you notice that the guy in front of you is texting on a dating app, while his girlfriend is by his side. Would you rat him out? Or how 'bout if your fiancé asked you to store her wedding dress for the big day and it wound up in a casket instead? This is precisely what happens when you use TikTok and the NY Post as your news source. You might not believe it all but you can't help but go along for the ride - which is exactly what we did this week.

Plus, we revisited the camp classic, "Meatballs". This one has got it all: young Bill Murray, full adults playing teenagers, exasperated authority figures and harmless pranks that even Anne didn't get annoyed by. Best of all - it's free on youtube! Trust us, this is 90 minutes well spent.

We thank you for listening and let us know what you think!

Happy Trails,

Season 3 Episode 25: An elephant with murderous intent, little boy lost and found and the 1980 summer camp classic, "Little Darlings"

Season 3 Episode 25: An elephant with murderous intent, little boy lost and found and the 1980 summer camp classic, "Little Darlings"

Everybody was sending us a story this week about an elephant who killed a woman at a watering hole and then did something even more outrageous. Plus seeking to thwart the course of justice, one woman releases hundreds of cockroaches in court and a little boy went missing in the Montana woods. Find out how he was found.

This week we watched an oldie but a goodie, "Little Darlings". Crissy could not keep Matt Dillon straight from Matt Damon and Anne just wanted to envision Rex Reed in "The Pirate Movie" (that's worth a listen alone), but we did enjoy revisiting this one. It's a surprisingly sensitive portrayal of young love (or at least lust). And as a bonus, we talk about the time Laurence Fishburne was spotted looking for Coffee Mate in our office. Place your bets on who spoke to him: Anne or Crissy.

We hope you enjoy this episode. Thank you for listening!

Season 3 Episode 24: the STD that paid big time, why Disneyland Paris is not for lovers and the under-the-radar Reese Witherspoon/Paul Rudd romcom, "How Do You Know"

Season 3 Episode 24: the STD that paid big time, why Disneyland Paris is not for lovers and the under-the-radar Reese Witherspoon/Paul Rudd romcom, "How Do You Know"

There's a lot of stuff going on this week and all of it is outrageous. First, a story we still don't understand no matter how many times we read it: a woman could collect $5.2 million from GEICO for having unprotected sex in a car and getting an STD.

Season 3 Episode 23: the unorthodox bat mitzvah, an opossum walks into a bar, the cheese rolls down the hill and the '80s summer favorite, "Summer School"

Season 3 Episode 23: the unorthodox bat mitzvah, an opossum walks into a bar, the cheese rolls down the hill and the '80s summer favorite, "Summer School"

Here's an unlikely aphrodisiac: the zoom telecast of a bat mitzvah. Find out how this rite of passage was overshadowed by a lusty pair of guests with seemingly incredible stamina. And an opossum walks into a Brooklyn bar and encounters a foe he hadn't counted on. Plus would you risk life and limb to chase a wheel of cheese down a hill? You bet your gouda you would!

And we're kicking off summer with the Mark Harmon/Kirstie Alley film, "Summer School." Only a film from the 80s could feature a male teen stripper who is caught by his mother when she slips money into his G string, a 16-year-old student living with her 30-year-old teacher (and no one having an issue with it), and the same teacher throwing an alcohol-fueled bash at his own apartment as part of a blackmail scheme by his students. Got to love the 80s.

We hope you enjoy. Thank you for listening!

Season 3 Episode 22: The thief who clipped more than a mower, closing arguments in the Depp/Heard trial and the last Cruise/Kidman production, "Eyes Wide Shut"

"Top Gun: Maverick" just had the biggest Memorial Day opening weekend ever (and you better believe Anne was amongst those coughing up her $16 to see it. Money well spent, judging by her reaction). We, at "That's Outrageous" podcast are hoping to draft off of that success with a look at another Tom Cruise film, "Eyes Wide Shut". This was first time viewing for Crissy who chose this final Kubrick film. Find out what the ladies have to say about the story behind the filming, the plot and all the topless women.

Plus, the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial is nearing its end. Where will this mess land? And we cover the story of a man who clipped more than a mower and a house left abandoned in the middle of a street. Who knew houses moved so much?

Take a listen and let us know what you think. Comments always welcome!

Season 3 Episode 21: the return of Mexican pizza, the strange bedfellow, the dirt on Balenciaga and the beloved film, "Dirty Dancing"

Anne finally lets Crissy watch a good movie (not a movie just considered good by Anne). This week it is the classic "Dirty Dancing". With Jennifer Grey back in the news with her new memoir, the ladies decided to rewatch arguably her most famous film. This discussion is loaded with facts about the movie you might not have known along with surprising similarities to current day events.

Speaking of which, we give our hot take on the new Balenciaga sneaker. Put a pair of these puppies on your feet for a literal interpretation of dirty dancing. Plus, thanks to a successful petition by one particular group, people everywhere are rejoicing in the streets over the return of this fast-food favorite. Find out the surprising story behind its comeback. And, a couple wakes up to a new day and a strange new (but friendly) bedfellow.

We are so excited about this one, we might just high tail it up to the Catskills to find our own Johnny - strictly for dancing purposes.

Season 3 episode 20: Celebs weigh in on the Depp trial, the Vogue bar and the James Spader forgotten film, "Dream Lover"

Season 3 episode 20: Celebs weigh in on the Depp trial, the Vogue bar and the James Spader forgotten film, "Dream Lover"

The hiatus in the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial gave celebs the chance to weigh in on who's side their on - and lord knows we couldn't go another day without knowing what Joe Rogan thinks of this mess. But what about Jennifer Aniston? And a father is not kidding around when he sues his son for an outrageous reason. Plus, Vogue magazine thinks Brits will confuse a mug of beer for mugging for the camera.

Plus, we watched the James Spader/Madchen Amick film, "Dream Lover".  Never heard of it? You're not alone. But it's got a sex scene so that was enough to keep Anne watching. Find out what Crissy thought and if this is one you should put on your watch list.

As always, thank you for listening!

Season 3 Episode 19: Amber Heard takes the stand, a man with a real surprise up his sleeve and the 1984 teen comedy, "Where the Boys Are"

Season 3 Episode 19: Amber Heard takes the stand, a man with a real surprise up his sleeve and the 1984 teen comedy, "Where the Boys Are"

This week we continue to track the latest developments in the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp defamation trial. With the proceedings on a 10 day hiatus, it's the perfect time to catch up on all you may have missed. Plus, we discuss the very peculiar story of a man who has a real surprise up his sleeve (and that is putting it mildly). And if all of that wasn't outrageous enough, you'll never guess which notorious figure is out of jail and now out on tour. Seriously, you'll never guess so just listen.

And Anne and Crissy watched "Where the Boys Are '84" for the first time. For those of you over 40, the movie stars Lisa Hartman Black and Lorna Luft. For the younger set, it stars a bunch of women with great 80s hair. Does this belong amongst the pantheon of great 80s teen raunch-coms? (I just made up that term) Find out what A&C think - they are surprisingly in sync on this one.

Season 3 episode 18: Nic Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker in "Honeymoon in Vegas"

This week we take a look at "Honeymoon in Vegas", the 1992 Nic Cage (always outrageously delightful), Sarah Jessica Parker comedy. Anne proudly reports that she has seen this film "at least 50 times". This was a refresher for Crissy. Will the film stand the test of time? Will anyone be able to accurately guess James Caan's age at the time of filming? And how many Easter eggs can you find throughout (hint: many of them are in homage to Mel Brooks).

Put on your Elvis costume and take a leap with us to revisit this 90s gem.

Season 3 Episode 17: the explosive Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial, the wedding that gave guests more than a sugar high and the invite that tore 2 siblings apart

This week we cover the trial that has all of America talking - Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard. The accusations, the severed finger, the texts, the testimony, the Teslas! (ok, there are no Teslas but there is Elon Musk, so close enough) Anne and Crissy break down what's been said so far and ask the question no one else has: does Jack Sparrow still bear Johnny's resemblance on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney?

Plus, the wedding that sent several guests to the ER and the wedding that sent one brother/sister duo into sibling therapy. Does no one get a happily ever after?

Lots of good stuff this week to weigh in on and you can count on us to do it! Next week: "Honeymoon in Vegas".

Season 3 Episode 16: stolen art, a found bird, more trouble in Texas and the forgotten gem or better forgotten, "Mr. Right"

Is it art or does it belong in the lost and found? And why is this even a question for museum goers? That is question this week's podcast attempts to answer. Plus, a missing bird is found but its owners want to send it back to Mayberry and beach goers in Texas reach a new low.

And this week it was Crissy's turn to pick a movie. With the pressure on, did she find a forgotten gem in the Sam Rockwell/Anna Kendrick shoot-em-up-rom-com, "Mr Right" or was this one better left forgotten?

Thank you for listening. We hope you enjoy!

Season 3 Episode 15: Flamingo on the run, your name is what now? and Keaton as the villain in "Pacific Heights"

Season 3 Episode 15: Flamingo on the run, your name is what now? and Keaton as the villain in "Pacific Heights"

There are quite a few head scratchers this week. First a wily flamingo escaped from a Kansas City zoo more than 17 years ago. Find out where "Pink Floyd" was found. Plus a man gets 60 COVID shots. Why? And a couple gets married and divorced three times - but not because he left the seat up on the toilet bowl.

And by listener request(!) "Pacific Heights". This 1990 thriller will have you on the edge of your seats trying to figure out just how crazy Michael Keaton is and how little chemistry there is between Melanie Griffith and Matthew Modine. Thank you to FOP Susan for suggesting this to us (and an open invitation to anyone else who would like us to review something).

Season 3 Episode 14: We love you, Bruce Willis

We here at "That's Outrageous" could not let the news of Bruce Willis' retirement from acting go unnoticed. This episode is dedicated and devoted to all things Bruce. From his first film, "Blind Date" to his last (as of now), "Deadlock", we are taking a look at a multitude of Willis films, trivia and fun facts. (Also revealed is Anne's surprising animosity for one Boy Band member and Bruce devotee).

Season 3 Episode 13: The salad dressing ring, Hillary Clinton's second act, Gordon Ramsey to the rescue and "Just Like Heaven"

If you listen to nothing more than the first 2 minutes of this podcast, I promise you will be entertained. This week we discuss Hillary Clinton's new side gig, Gordon Ramsey's rescue (of sorts) and what every gal dreams of, an engagement ring made with Hidden Valley ranch salad dressing. That is not a typo.

Plus, did you see the Reese Witherspoon/Mark Ruffalo rom-com, "Just Like Heaven" in 2005? Somehow Anne and Crissy missed it too. But just like Reese Witherspoon's spirit captivated Mark Ruffalo, so too were we captivated by this film - or at least by the apartment it takes place in.

Have a listen and thank you for your support!

Looking for a house cleaner that pays you? Need a new vocation? Well, then you'll want to listen to this week's episode to find out how a British woman is turning in her AARP card for a new life as a dominatrix. Plus, the American woman who faked being pregnant not once, but 3 times. Find out why. And the genius who stole a 70 ton crane and then had to call for help to move it.

Season 3 Episode 11: Stolen heads, near misses and the Harrison Ford/Michelle Pfeiffer thriller, "What Lies Beneath"

Season 3 Episode 11: Stolen heads, near misses and the Harrison Ford/Michelle Pfeiffer thriller, "What Lies Beneath"

In what may be a podcast first, we watched a film this week that had good acting. "What Lies Beneath" is a thriller featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford that keeps you on the edge of your seat - before going off the rails. Crissy and Anne agree about a lot on this one - including Harrison Ford's abs - but definitely not the ending.

Plus the saying, "heads will roll" takes on a whole new meaning in a story about a stolen truck carrying boxes of human heads. We did not make this up. And we round it out with a reporter covering a hit and run, while a different hit and run was unfolding behind him.

It's a wacky world and we're here to talk about it.

Season 3 Episode 10: Paralyzed or prank, bunny vs woman, Gere vs Basinger

Season 3 Episode 10: Paralyzed or prank, bunny vs woman, Gere vs Basinger

This week Anne and Crissy discuss a dating profile on TikTok that has gone viral. A paralyzed Australian man has women the world over in a swoon but Crissy, in a true Larry David moment, has her doubts. Plus not one but two bunnies enter the arena of competitive eating. Who will prevail in a salad eating contest? Lettuce guess.  And a body is found on a trail in Georgia but the foul play is not what you'd suspect.

And who can forget the 1992 film, "Final Analysis"? Apparently a lot of people. But we are bringing it back. Does it rise to Hitchcockian heights or does the plot twist kill the film?  We're on the case.

Thank you for listening. At least we make ourselves laugh - and hopefully you do too.

Season 3 Episode 9: Our list of beloved yet outrageously deranged movies

Season 3 Episode 9: Our list of beloved yet outrageously deranged movies

This week Anne and Crissy are back with a new top 10 list. This one sprang from the realization that many of our favorite films have plot lines that are truly disturbing. Case in point, who doesn't love "Overboard"? You want Goldie Hawn to stay with the man who essentially kidnapped her, deceived her, and forced her into domestic labor all in the name of revenge. It's a feel good rom-com! See what else makes the list.

Plus we have the truly outrageous story of a full cabin that was stolen in broad daylight. And we run down the TSA's annual list of confiscated items. Some will leave you scratching your heads, others nodding in admiration of the attempt.

We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!
