Cristi Poeta
By Cristina Sandoval
Poet reads and reflects on poetry.
Who is Cristi Poeta?
MFA Student of Creative Writing at Fresno State University. From Modesto, California. Chicana. Mexican-American. Hispanic. Multiplicitous.
Why the podcast?
I want to share my passion for poetry. I am beginning with myself, because what else do I know best? But, my aim is to always reflect on the craft, and our shared place in this world. I want to explore the "we" part of life. I want to talk about how we can all connect through the power of words.

Mourning Doves
This week's episode is about family, and what it means to write poetry. My grandfather was a prominent example of love and storytelling in my life. What is the true, essential power of poetry and love in our lives? How do storytelling and immediacy intertwine with that?
Note: This episode's cover photo is an old photograph of my grandfather being his most silly self. He is wearing a wig. That is not his real hair.
