Enjoy the Journey - Part 2
Enjoy the Journey
How many peas can you eat in one sitting? Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as we discover Pastor Brian's inability to grow hair, how discipleship and grace are the next steps in our journey with God, and how "the elderly" still have a shot at fulfilling their dreams of being an international soccer star.
How, Not If
Well this episode is a day late, but don't worry we still have a dollar! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church for a mini sermon series, where we explore how we are to use our gifts and calls for God, how you might want to get a cow instead of a toddler, and how you should really learn to play a sad violin when talking about football with Pastor Brian this week.
The Most Famous Conversation
Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking? Well I think so Brain, but exactly how many cows can you fit in the back of a Buick sedan? Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they wrap up the final sermon in our series on The Art of Neighboring and recover from an exciting weekend! And everyone knows that a group of flamingos is called a flock, duh... or is it a flamboyance...?
Time to Re-Ignite
We bring in the fun people for today! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as we explore our major concerns about an elephant and his snacks, how our passion for God must be refueled for those around us, and how Ryan Reynolds is one of the greatest things ever produced by the great nation of Canada.
Good News
We're gonna need bacon and some more sad music to get through this one... The teaching team at The Crossing Church unites once again under the banner of hating cheese, learning to share our story and how God has changed us, and freakish abilities to name music that came out before the writer of these descriptions was even alive.
Drop Your Stones, Have A Seat
Are you feeling a little low on starches in your diet? Then this is the potatocast for you! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they shoot lasers from horses, discover how our relationships with others are too often rooted in division, and realize that Pastor Nate can't be trusted with shiny buttons that make noises.
Breaking Down Walls
Just when you thought this podcast couldn't get any worse, we outdo ourselves, with 1/3 less people involved! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they continue their series on The Art of Neighboring. Whether it's the ability to twirl ribbons in the Olympics, breaking down barriers that prevent us from engaging in community in our world, or how finding a bunch of marbles was the highlight of Pastor Nate's childhood, you are sure to be mildly entertained!
Divine Appointments
It turns out there is not an expert of ornithology working at The Crossing Church... Join the teaching team as we are back from a few weeks off! We find out that some of us are actually getting paid to act like this, that the Holy Spirit can move in our lives in extraordinary ways, and if you listen really closely, you can hear Pastor Nate throwing our recording equipment on the ground like a boss.
The Light is Life
Psssst... You wanna buy some pistachios? Join the three stooges of The Crossing Church teaching team this week as they contemplate what happens when the preacher is MIA, how God is calling us to move into places of darkness to share the Light of the World, and the fact that the state of Nebraska somehow has a beach that isn't surrounded by corn.
What Really Matters?
Does anyone know if whales eat lobsters? Asking for a friend... Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they talk about losing beverage containers, how the journey of discipleship and relationship is something meant for everyone to be a part of, and how steak should always be cooked at medium-well. No more, no less.
God is With Us and For Us
God is The Point
We really have to ask... do you think you could fight a bear in hand-to-hand combat and emerge victorious? Well don't you worry, Pastor Brian definitely doesn't think so, but he'd slap a goose! Join our teaching team as they continue our series God Is:_____ and explore what it means for God to be focal point of our lives, not our own self.
God Is Relational
Have you ever misplaced a booster rocket and accidentally had it circumnavigate the globe? Us too. Join Pastors Lesley, Nate, and Mark as they discover every word spoken by a Midwesterner is mispronounced, making your country bigger really is as easy as moving a rock, and how a complicated topic like the Trinity is actually an amazing look into the type of relationship that God wants to have with us!
God Is a Friend to Sinners
What do pool noodles, a children's hospital, and a bunch of guys named Josh have in common? This podcast! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they provide a safe place for Green Bay Packers fans to vent their frustration, explore how revival is at the forefront of what it means to follow Jesus, and seek to provide a particular staff member with a bunch of useless TV knowledge that they'll never need unless they go on Jeopardy (I hear Aaron Rodgers might be the permanent host for that show!) and Saved By The Bell is a category.
God is Able
Want to know what happens when the guy in charge of writing the episode synopsis for the podcast isn't involved in making it this week? This. This is what happens.
Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they dive into their second week of our new sermon series, God Is _____. Will they talk about flying monkeys and the Cuban Missile Crisis? Who knows! The guy writing this sure doesn't!
God Is Bigger
When it comes to large holiday events, nothing is more tiring than Arbor Day... Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they explore the mental comedown from Easter, how God exceeds our own capacity to understand, and how cupboards are the foundation for a strong marriage.
Be on the Right Path
*This episode was recorded prior to the horrific events that occurred in Boulder, CO on March 22, 2021. We condemn violence and lament the loss of life that occurred on that day. We seek to share the truth of Christ in our community and our world, and desire to do the work to make sure this doesn't happen again*
Have you ever wanted to go into a podcast experience completely blind with absolutely no idea what you were going to experience? Well then this is the episode for you because the guy responsible for writing these promos hasn't listened to it yet either! Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church as they continue to explore their sermon series that for some reason focuses on the letter "P", the worst three letters that any young man could ever hear, and how our decision to follow God isn't one out of necessity, but out of true desire to serve!
From Failure to Forgiveness
Have you been looking for an in-depth, well thought out podcast that highlights important distinctions from Scripture and theology? Well let me tell you, you're in the wrong place because THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN! Join Pastors Brian, Nate, and Mark as they talk about sports that none of them could ever play competitively, how the culmination of failures doesn't mean that God is done working with you, and how lessons from a donkey are much more eloquent than you could ever imagine.
Blessed are the Persecuted
Does anyone want to move to Canada with us? The teaching team at The Crossing Church wraps up their series on the Beatitudes by trying really hard not to be bitter, discovering that a passion and relationship for the Church is what should drive believers, and giving horrific life advice like "don't eat dessert late at night". Seriously, who thinks ice cream at night is a bad idea?!
Peacemakers
The sky is falling, the sky is falling! This week the teaching team considers their spelling abilities, how we can pursue peace as God's children, and what happens when an airplane decides to deposit some of its engine parts on your front lawn. Also, be sure to check out our Lenten Devotional Study on our website through the entirety of this season of Lent! You can find it at crossingchurch.org/lent as well as past entries!
Lavish Mercy
We hear a good word from Pastor Lesley this week, which means that the boys on the podcast should be behaved, right? WRONG! Join the teaching team as we discuss sportsball (even though we promised not to), how we cannot give what we have not already received, and the incredibly important debate about peanut butter that you didn't know we needed to have.
Godfidence
Join the Crossing Church Teaching Team this week "on location" as the three stooges talk food that should always be consumed during the Super Bowl, how Pastor Brian shouldn't be trusted with the immense choices when it comes to purchasing jeans, and what a made-up word can do to make us re-think our identity and re-discover it in the foundation of Christ.
Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back...
It's been too long! After a brief hiatus, The Crossing Church Rewind is back! Join the team this week for laughter, moments that could be labeled as PG-13, and the exploration of the beatitudes and how they fundamentally change our outlook on the world.
Hey Jealousy
Welcome to our first draft of a new podcast all about food! We're kidding, can you imagine? Join Pastors Mark, Lesley, and Nate this week as they explore how to ruin a wedding anniversary, what happens when your friends don't actually believe that their house is on fire, and how a human understanding of jealousy isn't enough to understand the love that God has for us.
The One and Only
New schedules, new times, a new release date (no, not usually on Mondays, there was a technical glitch...) but still the same podcast! Join the teaching team as we begin a new sermon series, try to figure out how the Cleveland Browns are actually winning, and look ahead to what's in store in the future!
Episodes will start releasing on Friday mornings, starting October 9th, 2020!
Pray Anyway!
The teaching team at The Crossing Church continues with our series on Unstoppable, a series which has lasted longer than Elton John's "Farewell Tour". This week we dive back into Acts 12 to finish the story of Peter, discover how it's rude to not answer the door, and rely on prayer not as a last resort but as our first response to anything life may throw our way.
What's In The Box?
*Insert Shia LaBeouf gif about magic here* This week Pastor Nate fails to impress his daughter, Pastor Lesley is horrified by processed dairy, and Pastor Mark is just wondering if the podcast email actually works. Join the teaching team this week as we explore a story you may not be familiar with from the book of Acts, a Roman solider named Cornelius. Don't worry, this Cornelius doesn't lick pickaxes for a living...
But God...
Did you know that 8:30am is an actual time during the week? Pastor Mark learned that during this week's podcast! Join the teaching team as we talk important times (be home by 11:52pm...), blinding lights, and so many mixed metaphors it'll make your head spin. Our series on the book of Acts continues this week discussing the conversion story of Saul to Paul!
Can I Get A Witness?
Out of the Box
Honestly Authentic
Another week, another podcast! Don't worry, we've got all the perrychicking (spoonerisms are great!), love of breakfast, and honest kids that you can handle. We talk what it means to live in a community of faith, how we should be moved to action by the message of the Gospel, and how Pastor Nate's weird elbows were once covered by a sweater vest (there are pictures out there, somewhere...). The teaching team continues our series in the Book of Acts and the early church!
Responsible Boldness
Beautiful
Ever wonder what would happen if The Three Stooges made a podcast? This one gets a little out of control as Pastors Brian, Nate, and Mark reflect on the journey of two expecting servants, what it means to be a "momma's boy", and how any brownie points end exactly at midnight.
Are We There Yet?
While the boss is away, the minions will play... or cause chaos and ramble in so many different directions this podcast episode that we lose count and somehow manage to find a carrier pigeon to bring us back home. Join the teaching team as we introduce a new sermon series titled Unstoppable, exploring the inception (BWAAAAAHHHH) of the early church in the book of Acts.
An Attempted Response to Current Events
In the midst of chaos, pain, and horrific reminders that this world and the United States of America still have so far to go when it comes to racism, the teaching team at The Crossing Church attempts to share our thoughts. We also wish to make way for voices more qualified than ours to speak on this subject as we embrace the practice of being slow to speak and quick to listen. We stand with our black brothers and sisters, and all persons of color, in affirming their place in our Church, in our communities, and in this world.

Wilderness 101
The gang's all here! We catch up after a week off and introduce a brand new sermon series. Join the teaching team as we cover everything from ancient language to how our wilderness may be a place for growth!
Influence
As the teaching team wraps up the final week in their series on the book of Daniel, we talk murder hornets and flamingos, how influence is most powerful through relationship, and Pastor Nate once again forgets the basic foundation of the English language when trying to end this episode.
A Divided Heart
This week we explore the final meaning of the Writing on the Wall in Daniel. We also share a therapeutic moment discussing our Amazon spending habits, and Pastor Nate and Pastor Mark celebrate a decent NFL Draft as Cleveland Browns fans while "The Big Cheese" evidently needs more therapy with his Green Bay Packers...
My Life is Unbalanced
The teaching team at The Crossing Church explores what happens when our life is out of balance and how to find balance again. We also talk about the strangest jobs we've ever had, Pastor Nate gets personal (you won't want to miss this!), and "tell me something good!"
The Tomb is Still Empty!
Join the teaching team as we reflect on what might be the strangest Easter we've been a part of! We talk rabbit holes, cats, and fruitbooters (it's a real thing, we promise...)
Lessons From a Donkey
The teaching team finds out that 150 balloons aren't very exciting, Jesus is the king of an upside-down kingdom, and we're all just little donkeys. Join us as we recap a very special (and different!) Palm Sunday sermon that looks at things from a slightly different angle and asks the question, "what's tying you back?"
Stand Up Life in a Bow Down World
Join the teaching team at The Crossing Church for what might be the most off-the-rails episode yet! We discuss going stir-crazy, the writing on the wall, and ways that we can reach out and still "be the church" in the midst of isolation.
Worship God Continually
We took a week off, but we are back! Join us as we talk about how the church is still the same (even digitally!), how King Darius showed faith by setting his alarm clock, and how to handle not seeing each other face-to-face!
The Battle is Real
We talk about world record jump roping, big words from even bigger books, and what it means to find our strength from God. Join us as we explore week 4 of our series on The Book of Daniel: Unshakable.
Living The Dream
Join Napoleon Dynamite, a very tired world traveler, and a follower of Jesus but a lover of Daniel, as The Crossing Church explores week 3 of Unshakable. We might even interpret some dreams... badly.
Three Equals Four
The teaching team covers a little construction update, explores the narrative of the fiery furnace (and some of our own experiences with fiery furnaces), and wizardry. Join us as we explore Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in week 2 of The Book of Daniel: Unshakable.
The Dilemma
We talk about All-Star basketball, how to remain strong in your convictions with grace and love, and dad jokes. Lots and lots of dad jokes... Join us as we recap week 1 of our new sermon series, The Book of Daniel: Unshakable.
