Episode 24 - A Quiet Place
Well, Crunchroasters, this is it. The final episode of Season One.
Thank you for sticking with us this season while we found our footing. We wanted to give you a big ending with a double episode, since A Quiet Place Part 2 was supposed to be out by now, but Covid-19 had other plans. We will be back to give you a one-off review of Part 2 when it comes out, but other than that we're looking at returning full time sometime around August-October. Keep checking our social media for an exact date.
Right now, enjoy A Quiet Place and we'll see you out there!
Episode 23 - Pacific Rim
For many, the epitome of science fiction is UFOs/aliens. For others, space battles. But for a growing number of sci-fi fans, they're eager for one thing...
GIANT. ROBOT. COMBAT.
In this episode find out what Geoff and Vince think of this sci-fi staple and how it was handled in this film.
Episode 22 - Evolution
So, do sci-fi and comedy go together? The people that made 'Evolution' seem to think so. Listen to see if you think so and find out what Geoff and Vince think.
Episode 21 - Tron: Legacy
Tron: Legacy came out 28 years, 5 months and 8 days (in the US) after Tron... luckily, you don't have to wait that long for the Crunchroast episode! But you may want to give the original episode a listen before finding out how Geoff and Vince feel about the sequel!
Episode 20 - The Matrix Trilogy
Whoa, this is a LOOOOONG episode! We've got a guest co-host with us for this one... my brother John! There's so much in this series of movies we didn't know where to stop, but we had a lot of fun with it!
Episode 19 - The Fly
In 1957 a little sci-fi movie came out that shook people... The Fly, starring Vincent Price. In 1986, visionary filmmaker David Cronenberg released a reboot of that film (possibly one of the first 'reboots'... they weren't even called that yet!) starring Jeff Goldblum, and again, this film shook people.
Geoff and Vince discuss how they felt after watching the 1986 version. One of them grew up watching it... for the other, this was the first viewing. How did that affect their opinions? And who will you agree with?
Episode 18 - Dark City
There are few films in existence like Dark City... if you've seen it, you know what we're talking about. Listen to find out what Geoff and Vince think of it.
Episode 17 - Flight of the Navigator
One of Geoff's favorites, we give it the Crunchroast treatment!
Episode 16 - Logan's Run
Another entry in the 'future utopia/dystopia' catagory... you all know Vince loves these, but how does Geoff feel?
Episode 15 - Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Opinions vary in regards to the sequels... and Geoff's and Vince's opinions are no different! What are they? Give it a listen and find out!
Episode 14 - Star Wars Original Trilogy
The Original Trilogy is something of a sacred cow in sci-fi... die hard fans will tolerate very little criticism of it, and will excuse even the most blatant mistakes/quirks in the films. Geoff and Vince welcome a co-host on board for this episode and he brings a unique wit and point of view to the discussion. Trust us, this is unlike any previous episode... you'll love it!
Episode 13 - The Star Wars Prequels
Everyone has seen these films... some like them, some don't. Geoff and Vince bring a different outlook to this storied franchise.
Episode 12 - Iron Man
As a comic book character, Iron Man captured the imagination of many young men and women. Geoff and Vince cover the transition of the character from the page to the screen, as well as the movies' place in the MCU.
Episode 11 - Blade Runner
November, 2019 - Rick Deckard is brought back to Blade Runner service to hunt down some rogue Nexus 6 replicants. Geoff and Vince go over what made this such a cult classic.
Episode 10 - Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Vince and Geoff walk through the finer points of the pioneer of modern alien encounter films.
Episode 9 - Terminator: Dark Fate
In a surprise move, Geoff and Vince bump up next week's spoiler filled review of Terminator: Dark Fate by one week. In other news: JAMES CAMERON IS BACK!

Episode 3 - The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day
With the release of Terminator: Dark Fate looming on the horizon, Geoff and Vince talk about the highs and lows of what could possibly be the definitive cyborg films, Terminator and Terminator 2. Plus, the first appearance of our Science News segment!
Episode 2 - Avatar/Jupiter Ascending
Today there will be dissenting opinions as Geoff and Vince discuss pros and cons of two very different modern sci-fi films: Avatar and Jupiter Ascending. Who will you agree with?
