CSL-White Rock Sunday's MessageMay 08, 2024
Self-actualization with Rev. Terry Shea
By aligning our values and intentions with our activity in the world, we become catalysts for positive change within our community. This prompts us to ask the introspective question: "Who are we when no one else is looking?" It calls us to live in alignment with our truest selves, even in the presence of challenge or the absence of external validation. When we begin to commit to the path of evolution, transformation and self-actualization, it creates a powerful collective force that cultivates authenticity and propels positive transformation in the world, thus moving us collectively from from Good to Great to Grand.
Calm Confidence with Rev. Marilyn Knipp
Our teaching is to assist each of us to go up our own stairs, finding out who we are….step by step. Often we get the idea, then the vocabulary of a new way of being. Then we learn techniques to live the life we want and then it’s practice, practice, practice until we stand firmly on that new step, confident & calm. This months topic is moving from Good to Great to Grand, taking the steps to know ourselves.
A Value Led Life with Rev. Tamara Rossander
We will explore our own core values and how to live from them more fully. Learning to live from our values is a transformative journey of self-discovery and alignment. By consciously directing our energies toward pursuits that resonate with our values, we create a life that aligns with who we are.
The Inner Landscape with Rev. Tamara Rossander
This week, we will explore how observation, curiosity, and discovery are essential elements to self-actualization. This will become the starting point of our movement from Good to Great to Grand. By actively observing our own inner landscape, we gain greater insight and awareness into our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Curiosity fuels our desire to explore and ask questions, which leads us to discover and uncover new aspects of ourselves.
Taking It to the Streets with Rev. Tamara Rossander
We are probably living in the most decisive time in human history—or at least it feels that way. We are inundated with media bias and more polarized opinions than ever before. And yet, love is fundamental to the Science of Mind.
Love is the very essence of gentleness.

Gentle Cosmic-ness with Rev. Tamara Rossander
How do we look at the world around us and the future of humanity with gentleness? How do we rise in gentleness in nature and a universal community? We use the same tools as in our own lives. We use the Principles of Science of Mind. We celebrate the wins. We don’t deny the struggles and pain, but we remember who we are (individually and spiritually).
The Other In Love with Rev. Amanda Pope
We are reflections of each other. As we cultivate gentleness for ourselves, we begin to recognize Love expressing Itself as the others in our lives. This week the title is The Other in Love.
Your Gentleness is Showing with Rev. Tamara Rossander
Forgetting who you are is part of the journey. Therefore, let gentleness be your most trusted travel companion.
Don't Go Back to Sleep with Rev. Tamara Rossander

Tell Me Something Good with Rev. Tamara Rossander
What happens when we’re confronted by a situation where “figuring it out” just doesn’t work? Sometimes it’s only when all our problem-solving skills fall short that we remember there’s a deeper intelligence within us, offering us our perfect answer. “I don’t know how, but Spirit does!”
Affirmation:
Divine Intelligence lives in me and guides me in each new day.

Grand Rising - It's a New Life
Regardless of how big our personal and social challenges may be, Spirit is always present. Life is always unfolding perfectly, even when it doesn’t seem like it. Intentionally starting each day with a Grand Rising, connects us with our faith in Truth, Love and Beauty. This simple morning practice of being intentional with how we start our day and greet others allows us to ground ourselves in this Truth every day. The more that we develop a habit of living from this understanding, the stronger our faith becomes.
It Is A Brand New Day with Rev. Tamara Rossander
Everything in nature moves in circles. What goes out must come back. Love others, and you will receive love in return. Spread joy, and you will experience more joy. These words were spoken by Dr. Ernest Holmes. On this brand new day, let us embrace the unity of the universe and reflect on the first principle of the Science of Mind, which is oneness.

WE BELIEVE that heaven is within us and that we experience it to the degree that we become conscious of it.

A wonderful conversation between Rev. Tamara and Rev. Terry
A wonderful conversation between Rev. Tamara and Rev. Terry as they discuss CSL White Rock's second noble Truth:
We are Spirit having a human experience.
Wayne Dyer says most of us define ourselves by our role, what we do, what we have, or what others say about us.
How do you define yourself?
How would your life be different if you defined yourself as Spirit having a human experience?
Affirmation: I AM Spirit having a human experience.

Shaking Up Our Worldview with Rev. Tamara Rossander
This journey of paradox calls us to curiosity and a willingness to stay in the question rather than know the answer. This uncertainty leads to vulnerability, which can be challenging. Luckily, there are tools we can use along the way to remember that playfulness is the key even in the midst of challenges.
Affirmation: I am curious and vulnerable as I explore paradoxes in my life.

Evolution of Self-Care with Rev. Tamara Rossander
Isn't it wonderful to be open to all the things you desire? Here is a preview to understand how you can become so much more than what you have previously only dreamed of.
Evolution of Self-Care with Rev. Tamara Rossander
To live your life to the fullest, self-care must be embraced in daily practice to help you remember who you are. To know who you are, you must be aware of the unlimited possibilities that can be unlocked when you harness the potential of your Real beingness. Through self-awareness of the mind, body, and spirit you realize that you are a perfect entity and that you have all that you need for unlimited success and unconditional love.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with Rev. Tamara Rossander
Stars shine brightest against a dark backdrop like the evening sky. The brilliance of each star is illuminated and magnified by its companion of darkness. The beautiful glow of the star calls forth the deep richness of the night as they co-create magnificence that is crisp, sharp, and shiny.
Vulnerability: Defining and Aligning with Rev. Tamara Rossander
Rev Tamara RossanderWhenever we embark on a new adventure, it is essential to know where we are and where we are going. Today we begin the journey towards a greater understanding of the power of vulnerability by exploring what it is, what it isn’t, and why it’s important. Vulnerability becomes the crucial starting point for authenticity and connection. To the extent that we begin to foster this in ourselves, we can begin to invite others to do the same.
The musician this week is Ivan Boudreau.
Ivan has been a professional musician/songwriter and wandering minstrel for over 45 years, with deep roots in Nova Scotia and his youthful years in Boston and Toronto. He now calls British Columbia home and continues with his driving passion for stories and songs that are honest and heartfelt.
Boundaries Build Bridges with Rev. Tamara Rossander
While physical boundaries can act as walls, when we communicate our boundaries, instead of a wall, we are creating a clear path for others to connect with us. Boundaries build bridges. The musician this week is Ranj Singh.
Ranjit “Ranj” Singh makes music with a distinct Indian-Western flair that draws on the singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist’s love for rock music and heartfelt lyrics. He refers to his unique blend of music as “Indo-Canadian Folk”.
More about Ranj here.
Dropping our Masks with Rev. Tamara Rossander
We wear masks in celebration, for fun, and to be safe. Masks that we wear for our hearts may keep us safe until they don’t. Vulnerability empowers us to drop the mask and let our light shine.
The musician this week is Ivan Boudreau.A professional musician/songwriter and wandering minstrel for over 45 years, with deep roots in Nova Scotia, youthful years in Boston, Toronto and now calling British Columbia home.

Everyone Else is Already Taken by Rev. Tamara Rossander
It is often said, "Be yourself because everyone else is already taken." However, being authentic in a world of trying to fit square pegs in round holes can feel scary and risky. So it starts with, "Know Thyself."
The musician this week is Linda Kidder.
Linda's been in show business, playing professionally since she was fifteen. She's played thousands of stages with hundreds of musicians. She's been either centre-stage singing, drumming or playing bass in countless bands. She has toured throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe with KD Lang's Ingenue Tour and Gary Fjellgaard.
Living Curiosity Out Loud with Derek Hinchliffe
We are thrilled to welcome Derek Hinchliffe and Amanda Pope, Spiritual Directors of CSL Nanaimo, to our Centre. They are here to share their passion for teaching the Science of Mind. As part of a global community, CSL White Rock is honoured to help bring awareness to this new Teaching Chapter, CSL Nanaimo.
The vision of CSL Nanaimo is to create a community of individuals who are committed to their own spiritual journey, who care for the good of humanity and the planet, and who believe in creating a world of kindness, inclusion, and respect. There are four pillars to the mission at CSL Nanaimo: to promote personal well-being, to spread kindness and hope, to care for humanity and the planet, and to facilitate spiritual development and exploration.
Amanda will host our Meditation, and Derek will speak about Living Curiosity Out Loud. Are you still playing small, or are you ready to be who you came here to be and live life to its fullest?
About Derek: he is a storyteller. After spending fourty years as a television journalist in the Okanagan, last summer, he and his partner Amanda Pope moved to Vancouver Island to start the Centre for Spiritual Living Nanaimo. Derek loves helping people. When he is not serving his community as a practitioner, he can be found at the H&R Block office assisting people with their taxes, which sometimes also involves prayer work.

The World is an Oyster with Tamara Rossander RScP
If an oyster did not choose to address the grain of sand that caused such discomfort, we would never experience the beauty of the pearl. An oyster takes an awful irritant, transforms it by coating it with its essence and then gives the world a beautiful gift. This is ours to do, both within ourselves and out in the world.
