The Good Grief Guide

The Good Grief Guide

This recording is the audio of my ebook, The Good Grief Guide.  This guide has been created for you from my own experience of my loss of my husband and how I was physically and mentally during those first few weeks.  Please remember that you are unique and so is your experience.  For those of you currently struggling, my hope is that you find some comfort in the pages.

As a coach I understood what was happening in my head, and how I was feeling like I was in another "space and time" to everyone around me.  How I could not retain conversations.  Being asked to make decisions, which quite frankly, I would have had trouble with on a good day.

There is nothing wrong with you.  This is grief, the emotion.  We are told that it is a process that implies an end.  There is no end.  But when you come to understand grief, it will empower you, it will help you heal your pain of your loss.  But all that is for another day.  The purpose of this guide is to help you now.  To help you navigate through these first days weeks, perhaps months of your loss.

I created this because people were telling me that their friend/loved one needed my help.  I would ask, how long have they been bereft to be told just days.  That may just be too soon for someone to work on their grief, but I asked myself, "how can I help, what would have helped me"?

And so, this ebook has been created.  If you have come across this recording but have not received the book, please email me at diane@lifeafterlossiom.com or ask a friend to do that for you.

for now, I am sending you a consoling hug and much love

Diane x

My Guest Beverly Radley from Breakthrough From Within talks about Flower Essences.

My Guest Beverly Radley from Breakthrough From Within talks about Flower Essences.

I am so delighted to have Beverly Radley on my show today talking about Flower Essences and how they can help you with your healing.

Beverly explains how the process is created, and how this improved as she opened up to the pain of her losses, ending up with her creating powerful essences.

Her range for grief has been so successful, she is now launching a new range.  Acceptance is one.  Beverly shared that that was a pretty bitter tasting one.  For this to evolve, Beverly had to Accept that she was supposed to do this work.  Another is Unconditional Love.  We say it but do we mean that, or does it come with conditions attached.  We know that that is not unconditional, right? This new blend of Unconditional Love helps you stay in pure love, buy expecting "no answer". Just be love.

Cherish is another soon to be released.  To come to a place where you can truly "Cherish" yourself.  Along with "Comfort" out of the Grief range, these can all help you find yourself, especially after a significant loss.

How does it work?  We have known for years the healing properties of plants, by way of aromatherapy oils.  Many potions were created from plants and Flower Essences deliver yet another way in which helps the emotions heal.

Our mental health is not always "seen" but felt, carried and can become engrained in our make-up.  All of these can then make an impact on our lives on so many levels, from how you deal with grief in respect of your losses.

You can find Beverly Radley on Face Book "Breakthrough From Within" or visit her website www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BreakthroughEssences.  If you would like to find out more about my services please visit www.lifeafterlossiom.com or email diane@lifeafterlossiom.com

This will also be my last podcast called Life After Loss.  I will of course still be talking about Grief, but will be more focusing on your challenges and helping you "bust through" these in the weeks to come.

Change in Direction

Change in Direction

One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself is to stop, think about where you are in life and ask, are you happy?  Do you need to change your direction?

Do you need help to do this?  Do you think that it is impossible?  Do you suffer from mental health problems such as depression or anxiety?

All that is needed is a willingness that you deserve more or better than where you are at, and have the desire to make changes.

Some are subtle changes and some are totally mind blowing.

Remember you can email me for any help at diane@lifeafterlossiom.com or why not join me on one of my free workshops. See my website for full details.  www.lifeafterlossiom.com.

Reaching out for support

Reaching out for support

One of the hardest, yet now best things I have done for a difficult situation is reach out for help.  Today I share some of the fears that can stop people asking for help.  Alienation is not a new thing to happen to families, it is extremely sad.  When someone wants to make the journey back to their family or heal old wounds, I share some ways that this can be done. All you need is a willing and open heart.

Dedicated to Andrew, forever in our hearts.

Understanding The Impact of Unresolved Grief

Understanding The Impact of Unresolved Grief

Today I talk about the impact that unresolved grief has on the mind and body.  Inspired from some articles I am working on for LinkedIn, I share with you some of the reasons why some people have difficulty understanding grief and how that affects their physical bodies. For example, that sore throat you have maybe because you are trying to get your words out but keep swallowing them down!   In this episode I explain by sharing areas of my own journey with you.

In the early weeks of my widowhood, I went from feeling deeply depressed and not wanting to do anything, to wearing that academy award recovery mask of "I'm Fine".  A time when you really shouldn't make big decisions.

I also share with you the different losses that you can have not realize that you are grieving, and the impact that that can have on your mind and body.

Anyone wanting to get in touch regarding today's or any other podcast can reach me at Diane@lifeafterlossiom.com

Choosing to recover

Choosing to recover

Choosing to recover from your loss can be the biggest step you take.  Most feel as did I that that might mean forgetting the person in the case of a bereavement.  Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.  In this episode I share my early steps from dealing with depression in my grief to recovery.

Taking responsibility for things in your life by looking at different patterns of behaviour that you might have picked up as a child.  This will help you think about how you deal with things in your life, from reacting from everything that happens to responding!  This can be a subtle change with a big impact.

How doTERRA oils can help Grief

How doTERRA oils can help Grief

Our sense of smell is a strongest one, linked from when we were first born and knew our mother's smell, then the milk.  When I discovered Linda and doTERRA oils, it was no surprise to me how much benefit you can get from smelling them.  I did not realise all the additional benefits as you will hear in this episode when Linda shares her story.   Bad shoulder surgery, widowed with her oils along the way supporting each step.

Linda shares her story about working through the Grief Recovery Method Programme and discovering the oil Console, which I now give to some of my clients struggling when they first arrive to start the programme.

If you would like to find out more about doTERRA or the Grief Recovery Method programme, please email me on Diane@lifeafterlossiom.com

Living with Fear

Living with Fear

In today's episode I am sharing my journey at the start, when my late husband was diagnosed with his illness and we spent our early days living in the fear of him dying.  A combination of other things happening around the same time all had me feeling overwhelmed leading to a meltdown.  That was a bad time, but also a good time.  That was the start of my journey which has lead me to you today.

If you are currently living your life in fear, I hope that you can find some helpful tips in this recording and if you feel the need, please reach out for support.  You can also email me at Diane@lifeafterlossiom.com.  Pushing through fear may feel hard, but it is well worth it.  Find the courage and live your best life.

What is keeping you stuck?

What is keeping you stuck?

I have met so many lovely people and the saddest for me is when I can see what pain their are in from their losses, but decide to stay holding onto the pain.

I know it may be that the time is not right for them at this moment, but it does raise the question, Why?  Why would you chose to hold onto pain of your losses?  Lets explore in today's podcast

My Guest Dianne Lewis talks openly about her losses around infantility

There are many losses that we experience in life, and this is one woman's experience of how she tried to have her own family, how that in turn shaped her life.

Sharing our personal stories can help others understand and support where they currently are in their own journey, dealing with losses. Indeed,  how their life changes on their path with the obstacles we all experience.

My thanks to Dianne for her courage in sharing her story.
