Twin Peaks Season Two: Double Play
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Much to our delight, Twin Peaks has some fun exploring the horror genre - giving us everything from 80s slasher vibes to creature feature frights - during season two, episode 14, “Double Play.” Even more to our delight, we were lucky enough to have Abbie from Abbie Darling Customs join us to discuss the episode. She brought a ton of amazing insight to the conversation - we love her ideas on why this episode is so important to the series overall - and we had an extended stay in the spoiler/connection section that fellow Peaks Freaks won’t want to miss! What are your thoughts on Double Play? What were your favourite moments? Did you stay for our epic spoiler section this week? How did you feel about our chat behind the spoiler curtain? Twin Peaks Season Two: Checkmate
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We begin in space. Or is it the woods? Those worlds begin to collide as we discuss Twin Peaks, season 2, episode 13: “Checkmate.” Twin Peaks begins to collide with itself, too, as this episode holds many references and echoes to past events. It’s a juicy episode - sorry, we promise to stop using that word now - with just the right balance of shadow and light. We’re back on the whiplash-giving rollercoaster that is Bobby and Shelly. We’re sleuthing with Andy and Dick. We pass some love notes with Ed and Norma. We empty our savings account with James. We do not take part in the Civil War. And we say goodbye to one of the show’s best villains, the incomparable, the suave, the perfectly-accented, Jean Renault. What are your thoughts on the episode? What was your favourite moment? Did you love Jean Renault’s final monologue as much as we did? How do you feel about Ben Horne at this point? Twin Peaks Season Two: The Black Widow
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re starting to see a trend forming in mid-season 2, as we cover episode 12 “The Black Widow.” While the last few episodes wouldn’t rank in our top tens, they all offer a handful of fantastic stand-alone scenes, some great character development, and continue to build the mystery of the strange and wondrous woods in Twin Peaks. We may be dealing with some very human and far less overtly magical threats at the moment - Little Nicky, Lana Milford, Jean Renault, and Evelyn Marsh can’t hold a candle to the likes of Bob - but we’re also enjoying the space we’ve been given to just enjoy life in Twin Peaks, without worrying about evil spirits suddenly appearing from behind our couches. What are your thoughts on this episode of Twin Peaks? Do you think Little Nicky is the Devil? Is Lana Milford a witch? What about Evelyn Marsh - what sort of supernatural figure could she be compared to? Twin Peaks Season Two: Masked Ball
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re hitting the open road with our old pal James, as we cover Twin Peaks, season 2, episode 11, “Masked Ball.” Our actual friend - Coral of Wholesome Peaks fame on Instagram - joined us to help break down the episode, and thank goodness she did because there’s a hell of a lot going on here. We’re introduced to the lovely Denise, the mischievous Little Nicky, and the always extra Evelyn Marsh. We finally get a high school plot - centered around a grown woman, of course. Windom Earle is still lurking in the shadows of a chess board, Hank is somehow higher in the food chain than Ben now, Josie’s backstory is developed, we learn more about the White Lodge (and its shadow, the Black Lodge), and just to add to all that narrative chaos, someone comes “back” from the dead. We need your Questions for our 100th episode, Ask Us Anything special. Head over to Instagram to leave us a Q on this post (or the first call for Qs post), send us a DM, or drop us an email: damnfinepod@gmail.com Thanks to everyone who has sent us Qs already - we are so excited to dig into them! 1:15:30 - Spoiler Section 1:25:20 - Outro & Outtake Coral on IG - https://www.instagram.com/wholesomepeaks/ Wholesome Peaks Merch - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wholesome-peaks?ltclid=445ec90b-8673-4949-9929-c586c03fd506 Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks Season Two: Dispute Between Brothers
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re talking about Twin Peaks season two, episode 10, “Dispute Between Brothers.” Join us as we discuss the show’s transition from a “who killed Laura Palmer?” world, to a “where did Major Briggs go?” world. Maybe it’s a “who’s the father of Lucy’s baby?” world. Or a “how will Cooper clear his name?” world. What if it’s a “will Audrey and Bobby hook up?” world? It could even be a “what’s the White Lodge?” world. Then there’s always the “can you see Nadine’s underwear in her shoes?” world. But, perhaps best of all, we could be in a “why does Harry wear a onesie to bed?” kind of world. Point being, we may have solved the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer, but there are SO many questions left to explore on Twin Peaks. What are some of your questions after seeing “Dispute Between Brothers?” Head over to our Instagram and leave us a comment on the post for this episode, or send us a DM! 1:20:20 - Spoiler Section 1:25:43 - Outro & Outtake Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks Season Two: Arbitrary Law
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Join us at the Roadhouse for some magical revelations as we cover “Arbitrary Law.”  There’s romantic lunches for two in the Double R, a drugged orange drink masquerading as lemonade, and a storm rages in the town of Twin Peaks as we contemplate the idea that maybe Bob is just the evil that men do. Though the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer has reached its (seeming) conclusion, a handful of new mysteries have begun to materialize, and we find ourselves wondering: where do we go from here? What do you think about episode 9? Do you also find a certain sadness in having the answers? Would you agree that Laura Palmer feels more alive than ever? And just how much vaseline do you think they used on that filter for James and Donna’s scene at the Double R? This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Grab your dancing shoes, cause we’re channeling our inner Bob...Fosse, right along with Leland, as we cover Twin Peaks season 2 episode 8, “Drive With A Dead Girl.” We discuss how sloppy Leland seems to be acting, how Jerry Horne probably inspired Charlie Kelly’s love for (bird) law, the annoying “wokeness” of Gwen, the beautiful nostalgia in the dancing on the hook rug scene, and how tough it was to watch the disagreement between Harry and Coop! What do you think about episode 8? Would you agree that “Lonely Souls” is a tough act to follow? Are you ready for Gwen to go home? Have you ever attended a Glenn Miller night? Twin Peaks Season Two: Lonely Souls
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… It’s kind of a big week over here at DFTV, as we learn just how old Jasmin was turning on the exact evening when Laura Palmer’s murderer was revealed to the world. Oh, and I guess we’re also covering the episode with that very reveal! So, set your records to skip, and join us as we discuss Twin Peaks season two episode seven: “Lonely Souls.” It’s a massive episode, so we had to have some friends come help us break it down, and we were thrilled to have Michael and Dave from The Center Cut podcast join us once again. As always, they bring some incredible insights and so many laughs!  Do you remember the first time you saw this episode? Twin Peaks Season Two: Demons
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Grab your party hats and kazoos cause we’re celebrating a damn fine episode of Twin Peaks. With the exception of maybe one scene, “Demons” is a banger right from its thrilling start - with Harold bellowing into the night - right through to its chilling conclusion - leaving us with more information than ever about Bob. Not only that, we’re introduced to the incredible Gordon Cole, we get to party with Bobby and Shelly, and there’s even a scene where Ben and Josie don’t totally suck. So, hang the streamers, pour another drink, and let’s rock! What’s your favourite part about this episode? Do you have a different take? Twin Peaks Season Two: The Orchid's Curse
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re looking for secrets as we explore the happenings of Twin Peaks, season two, episode five, “The Orchid’s Curse.” Lucy’s heading out of town, Bobby finally makes an appearance, Harold has turned his front porch into a frog friendly habitat, the Roadhouse cleans up the floors and cancels its live performances to become a court house, and we find out that Hawk is actually the best Bookhouse Boy of them all. Plus, Mells tells us about a 90s show that was known as “Twin Peaks for kids”, and we take a small detour to discuss our love for Kill Bill. So, take a break from fingering your orchids and come join us! Twin Peaks Season Two: Laura's Secret Diary
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We do our best to find the best in “Laura’s Secret Diary.” With the exception of that phenomenal opening scene and a few memorable moments along the way, this episode is a real stinker. We knew some tough times were ahead in season two, but we didn’t think they’d come so early. Still, it was fun to see Hank get what’s coming to him, to hear Lucy’s response to Dick’s proposal, and to get another fascinating glimpse into the mind of Laura Palmer. Twin Peaks Season Two: The Man Behind the Glass
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re diving into season two, episode three of Twin Peaks, “The Man Behind the Glass.” The episode isn’t one of our faves - “Coma” is a hard act to follow, also there’s not even a hint of Bobby to be found - but there’s still plenty of strange and wonderful happenings to dissect. Some of our biggest questions this week include: why hasn’t Harold been questioned by Coop and them? Does Emory’s camera not record sound? Why did Lucy date Dick? And what will Harry do with all those sample shoes the one-armed man left behind? Don’t forget: we’re switching to an every-other-week release schedule for the summer months, so episode four will be out on June 11. Twin Peaks Season Two: Coma
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re joined by friend of the show and strange theory crafter, Emilia, to help us break down the events of season two, episode two: “Coma.” You may remember Emilia’s theories from our season one recap episode, and she brings even more wild and unique ideas to the pod this time around! For example: she doesn’t trust Coop, but thinks Hank might be an alright guy after all. The strange doesn’t stop there either, cause Jasmin doesn’t hate James in this episode and is pretty mad at Bobby. What is going on in this house?! And for those who’ll join us, Mells makes an amazing connection to The Return in the spoiler section and blows Jasmin’s mind. 1:24:35 - Spoiler Section If you wanna chat more with Emilia about her theories, check her out here: @_emilia.bedelia_  Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks Season Two: May The Giant Be With You
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re chatting all about the season two premiere of Twin Peaks: May The Giant Be With You. It’s one hell of a start to the season, with cryptic clues, questionable hospital food, wild hair transformations, poetry, singing, a heartwarming vision, and lots of horror elements. We even get a scene where Donna and James aren’t the worst! It’s possible we haven’t been giving enough credit to season two - at least the first half - and we admit as much on the show. And the spoiler section has some really fun theories this week, for those who can join us there! 1:29:00 - Spoiler Section Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks Season One: The Last Evening
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re joined by artist, filmmaker, and creator of The Outsider Tarot, Bobby Abate, to chat about “The Last Evening.” We chat a lot about the women of Twin Peaks - Laura’s presence through absence, Nadine’s inability to move forward, the never quite fully realized potential of both Catherine and Josie - and we wonder just how much sway ABC had in calling the shots for this finale. A finale, which absolutely paved the way for so much of what television would become in the decades following it. Bobby brings a ton of insight from his background in filmmaking and all-around Lynch knowledge to the conversation, and definitely blows our minds on a few occasions! And, of course, we talk about the relationship between Tarot and Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks Season One: Realization Time
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re joined by the lovely Coral of Wholesome Peaks to chat about “Realization Time.” The three of us crack the case of why no one noticed Audrey smoking in the closet, but we’re still fairly stumped on why tying a cherry stem in your mouth is considered sexy. We had a lot of thoughts on Ed and Coop’s undercover disguises, the creepiness of Waldo, and where Jacoby’s office/possibly also his home could be in the giant small town of Twin Peaks. Plus, we share some details about our upcoming coverage of the show, and Mells has some breaking news you can hear all the way at the end in a little outtake. This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… WE GOT ANOTHER ONE! Dave from The Center Cut is officially a Peaks Freak! This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… THIS IS NOT A DRILL - Mells has declared herself a Bobby girl!!! Okay, well, just for this episode, but STILL! But wasn’t Bobby just too dreamy this week? We love how he turned Laura’s funeral upside down, calling out the people of Twin Peaks - including himself - for not doing a damn thing to help Laura when she needed it most. We also love the echoes between Bobby’s truth-telling and the secrets of the woods that Harry and the Bookhouse Boys reveal to Coop. We dish on all of that, plus some fun behind the scenes details about Invitation to Love, some thoughts on Leland’s grieving process, and the real reason they call him “Big” Ed. 1:14:30 - Spoiler Section Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks Season One: Traces to Nowhere
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re breaking down the second episode of Twin Peaks: Traces to Nowhere, and we invited a couple of fellow Peaks Freaks to help us out - Michael and Dave from @the_center_cut ! Okay, so Dave might be less the Freak and more the “I liked it more than I thought I would” type, but, you know, we made it work. Even though his feelings on the Log Lady are highly questionable, he disliked James as much as we do, so he’s alright in our books. Michael has some great fish-in-the-percolator theories, and he even sticks around for the spoiler section to chat about some fun connections between season one and season three. Twin Peaks Season One: Pilot
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Our long awaited return to Twin Peaks has finally arrived! It was hard not to just fangirl for 90 minutes - we’ve been deprived of good TV for too long - but we managed to reel ourselves in (for the most part) and give this episode the treatment it deserves. We ask a lot of big questions this week, like: if everyone in the town you live in is cheating on their partner, does it really count as cheating? Why is Josie the first character we see? Just how big is James’ forehead? (Mells would say it’s a TENhead.) And, perhaps most importantly, are you a James or a Bobby girl? (Hint: there is only one right answer.) If you’ve never seen Twin Peaks before, don’t worry about getting spoiled, as we’ll be saving any discussion of future events for the very ends of our episodes. 1:26:15 - Spoiler Section Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... The Stand: Episodes 8 & 9
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… That’s a wrap on The Stand, and, honestly, good riddance. Turns out, not all books are meant to be adapted, and this is one of them. I guess we’ll always have Alexander Skarsgard’s butt... Before we rip into the final two episodes of The Stank - I mean, The Stand - we spend some time ripping into problematic, abusive men in the entertainment industry. Specifically: Justin Timberlake and his half-hearted “apology” to Britney, and the recent statement Charisma Carpenter gave about Joss Whedon’s abhorrent behaviour on the set of Buffy. 21:25 - Episode 8 47:40 - Episode 9 Next Week: Twin Peaks, the pilot! Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4: Episodes 7 & 8
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… That’s a wrap on Chilling Adventures! There are no more spells to cast, no more magical twists to be turned, and all the Tardigrade Mysteries have been solved. It’s time to bid Sabrina and the gang farewell. It’s a very bittersweet ending for a show that was never perfect, but was always fun to talk about. In the end, we think CAOS made all the right moves in these final two episodes - it left us wanting more, which is a great way to go out. 11:10 - Episode 7 38:05 - Episode 8 Next Week: The Stand, episodes 8 & 9 Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... The Stand: Episodes 6 & 7
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We talk about how awful socks are; just pull your leggings over that foot hump! We wonder if TikTok is a safe place for 40 year old Moms - and throw a bit of shade at the youngins. And we ask some tough questions: Backstreet Boys or N’Sync? Oh, and we also talk about The Stand, episodes 6 and 7, but that’s really just a sidebar. Here are the highlights: they did Trashy dirty. Flagg and Nadine are the best kind of dirty. Kojak is a good boy. Next Week: CAOS Episodes 7 & 8 20:40 - Episode 6 53:30 - Episode 7 Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4: Episodes 4-6
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… Please join our very special guests, Megs and Jaclyn, who stepped in to help us cover Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Part 4, episodes 4-6. JUST KIDDING. It’s us! It’s Mells and Jasmin! Bet we fooled you with our incredible disguises! What is even happening on this damn show?! These three episodes were all over the place, and though there were a handful of things to like, even love, episode 6 in particular really brought the season’s average down. Here’s hoping that was The Fright Club’s grand finale and that the final two episodes close the series in the best way possible. The Stand: Episodes 4 & 5
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’re tackling episodes 4 and 5 of The Stand. Who thought 9 hours was enough time to adapt the epic saga that is this novel? How do they sleep at night? Did they get a lump of coal for Christmas? We are stumped by so many of the strange adaptive choices in these episodes, and we continue to wonder what the experience must be like for those who haven’t read the book. If that’s you - do you understand what’s going on? Do you care about the characters? Let us know! Even through our frustrations, we can admit that there was also a lot of great stuff  in these episodes - Owen Teague is incredible, for one - and we’re still looking forward to what’s to come. Just stop getting it wrong, CBS, okay? Thanks.  Next week: Chilling Adventures episodes 4-6 1:50 - Wentworth (S8 plus some old stuff) 4:50 - The Stand audiobook 9:50 - Episode Four 51:25 - Episode Five Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4: Episodes 1-3
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We’ve prepared our altars, we’ve cast our circles, and our wands are at the ready - we’re here to cover Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 and solve these damned Tardigrade Mysteries once and for all! Come join us as we discuss episodes 1, 2, and 3 of CAOS’ fourth and final season, which, to our delight, has started off in quite stellar fashion. Yes, there are still the same old “Sabrina problems” but so far, this season has us praising Hecate for all its greatness. Looking for our coverage of The Stand? We’ll be back next week with our thoughts on episodes 4 and 5, so stay tuned! 2:00 - Watchmen 6:45 - random chatter 9:30 - Overall thoughts on CAOS P4: Eps. 1-3 15:05 - Episode 1 31:35 - Episode 2 52:00 - Episode 3 Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... The Stand: Episodes 2 & 3
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… You can all stop licking your jail cell bars and having your planchette-induced wet dreams, because we are back with more coverage of The Stand! This week, episodes 2 and 3 are in the spotlight. They were both a bit of a mixed bag, and so we have some very mixed feelings about them. One thing we absolutely agree on? Offering someone a million dollars in the apocalypse is just downright stupid. Oh, and Alexander Skarsgard is perfect as Randall Flagg! Just a reminder that, next week we’ll be chatting about the final season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and then we’ll return to our coverage of The Stand the following week. From there, we’ll be rotating back and forth until we finish both shows. 4:20 - The Stand audiobook 12:50 - The Stand episode 2 49:05 - The Stand episode 3 Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Best TV of 2020 - Part Three
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… It’s our third and final episode of the Best TV in 2020 series, and joining us to help wrap things up is the one, the only, Mike from the Wack Brackets podcast! Before we get into our picks for the best shows of the year, Mike tells us about his first-ever fave TV show, which prompts Mells to reveal a shocking (and hilarious, in fact, it’s mostly just funny) truth - you won’t want to miss it! Plus, we also get into a discussion about a few shows that paved the way for the Golden Age of Television and beyond. If you’re not already following Mike over @wackbrackets there’s no time like the present! The Stand: Episode One
This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast… We interrupt your regularly scheduled Best TV in 2020 series, to bring you coverage of THE STAND episode one!! There was no way we could wait until January to start talking about this show, and Jasmin’s plan to cover 3 episodes at once was, perhaps, a little too ambitious. If you do not want to be spoiled on the book (or the TV show, though I think that goes without saying?) you may want to skip our coverage until you’ve had time to read it! Mells isn’t telling us everything about the novel, but she’s not holding back, either. Listen at your own risk! Before we dive into our thoughts on the premiere episode, we chat a bit about the holidays and our favourite holiday movies - yes, movies, not TV! What are your must-see holiday movies? More importantly, what kind of lights do you put on your tree? MOST importantly, what did you think of The Stand, episode one? 14:00 - The Stand, episode one Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Next Week: We’re away for the next two weeks - apologies to our Damn Fine Listeners! We watched “The Tale of the Frozen Ghost” and “The Tale of the Nightly Neighbours” and we had a lot of thoughts! How much are gold coins worth? Is it a stereotype that rich people always overpack? Can you staple a window shut to protect against vampires? Is Dayday a real name? And if you can’t get enough of us, or AYAOTD? then come join us this afternoon, 1pm PST and 4pm EST on Instagram Live! This week on the show… Jasmin and Mells kick the episode off with discussions about Canadian Thanksgiving, time travel, Halloween costumes, and DIY haircuts. Twin Peaks: Final Thoughts...for now
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, Mells and I bid farewell (for now) to our beloved Twin Peaks. We do our best to summarize our journey through watching and reviewing the show, while freely admitting that it truly is something you just have to experience, and words often fail to do it justice. Still, we give it our all in the theories section, and then essentially throw all those theories out the window, by making the argument that plot just isn't as important as vibe and atmosphere in Twin Peaks. Almost any theory about what this show "means" is correct and that's the way we like it! We also discuss our thoughts on what a possible season four of Twin Peaks could look like. Finally, we explore some ideas on how to keep Twin Peaks a part of the DFTV pod moving forward, like with themed episodes centering on topics like: dreams, Tarot, coolness (re: James Hurley), nostalgia, color palette and more! Apologies for the scratchiness on Jasmin's mic; not sure what happened and hope it's not too annoying! Don't forget, we'll be on break for the next two weeks, and will return with our Weekly Watch pod on August 19. See you then! Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Seventeen & Eighteen
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, we've reached the curtain call. These final two episodes pack a real (Freddy Sykes) punch. Foes are vanquished, destiny's are fulfilled, history is changed, feelings are FELT, and there are SO many road trips - perhaps some that cross the pathways of space and time. What a journey it has been! So, go grab a damn fine coffee and meet us in the red room! But, not for the last time! We'll be back on July 28 (no new episode next week) for a full wrap up 'cast. Though I'm sure we'll probably spend a lot of time talking about The Return, we will, to some extent, be chatting about the series as a whole - films included. It would be yrev, very nice to hear your thoughts and theories on Twin Peaks - we'll even share them on the show! Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Fifteen & Sixteen
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, it's the beginning of the end. Bittersweet is a word we used a lot to describe these episodes. Some characters are finally getting their happily ever after, but at the cost of 25 years spent apart. We say our final goodbye to someone very special, and though it's an absolutely beautiful tribute, it means never seeing them again. Other characters are reawakened or awakening for the first time, and as exciting as it all truly is, we can't help but think about there only being 2 episodes left! So, go grab a damn fine coffee and meet us in the red room! Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Thirteen & Fourteen
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, we discuss the many ways in which Twin Peaks challenges our emotional outlook on certain topics - like cheering for the bad guy when he's up against other bad guys, how nostalgia can make you like bad songs, and why the simple act of packing sandwiches for a trip to the woods can carry so much weight. We also talk about how Twin Peaks continues to masterfully create such a porous space between dreams and waking life. Plus, we definitely know a lot about crimes and gangs, and we prove it...jk. So, go grab a damn fine coffee, or a nice Bordeaux, and meet us in the red room! Until next time, here's where you can come hang with us... Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Eleven & Twelve
This week on the show we're talking all about secret codes, nostalgia and fan service, the sad and scary realities for Sarah Palmer and Audrey Horne, the importance of dreams, and, once again, the fact that Bobby Briggs could absolutely, 100% get it. (Get your shit together, Shelly.) We've decided to deputize ourselves into the Blue Rose Task Force - I mean, that's how that works, right? - so, go grab a damn fine coffee, or a nice Bordeaux, and meet us in the red room! Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Nine & Ten
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, we're covering Parts Nine and Ten. These episodes feel a like a bit of a shaky landing after the wild ride of Part Eight; Gotta Light is one hell of a tough act to follow. These may not be our favourite episodes, but they've still got some incredible moments - Bill Hastings! Holy shit! Matthew Lillard is SO underrated - and a ton of plot development that gets us excited for what's to come - just what in the hell is Diane up to with those texts?? And, of course, we're so here for Constance and Albert, and we loved getting another beautiful monologue from the Log Lady. So, go grab a damn fine coffee and meet us in the red room! Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Seven & Eight
On this week's Twin Peaks Tuesdays, we're covering the big one...yep, we finally made it to Part 8: Gotta Light? This is the episode Jasmin was the most excited and nervous for Mells to see, and if you've seen it yourself, you'll understand why. Up until this episode aired, nothing like Part 8 had ever been seen on television, and we're pretty certain there will never be anything quite like it again. We hope our conversation does the episode justice! Oh, and we cover Part 7 as well, you know, the one with all the sweeping? So, go grab a damn fine coffee and meet us in the red room! Twin Peaks The Return: Parts Five & Six
This week on Twin Peaks Tuesdays, we're covering Season Three, Parts Five & Six. There was a lot to break down in these episodes; our case files were absolutely packed with scribbles and doodles to make sense of! Mells shares some damn fine theories on Richard Horne's parentage and the clues that Hawk found. Jasmin is obsessed with the use of colours and all the echoes - what do they mean?! And the damn fine duo is pleased as punch to finally meet Diane. It's a yrev, very good time. So, so grab a damn fine coffee and meet us in the red room! Weekly Watch: Major Briggs Meets a Horse
On this episode of the Weekly Watch...Mells and Jasmin aren't feeling the penultimate episode of Westworld season three - like, what is even real and worth an emotional investment on this show? And if you can't tell, does it matter? Still, at least the show looks pretty! With the bad news out of the way, these Queens of the small screen turn their attention to the last run of episodes from Twin Peaks season 2. As always, there's a lot happening in this small, coffee-loving town. The supernatural elements and horror really heat up, new loves are formed and old loves are lost, but, most importantly Major Briggs meets a horse. So come join us and get the scoop on Coop! Then, your Queens of the small screen share their thoughts on Westworld, season 3 episode 6, "Decoherence." Weekly Watch: What Genre is Twin Peaks?
On this episode of The Weekly Watch - or should that be, The Peakly Watch? - Mells and Jasmin are diving into the first half of Twin Peaks season 2. There's SO much to discuss: Cooper meets The Giant! Donna smokes now! The owls are not what they seem! Laura's murderer is revealed! And it's been less than 2 weeks since the events of the pilot! Then, these Queens of the small screen turn the dial to Westworld, season three episode five, "Genre." Mells and Jasmin both dig the plot and overall themes of the episode, but are still having trouble making an emotional investment. There are still so many questions left to answer and only three episodes left! Will this all turn out to be a simulation? Or is there something else afoot? Go grab a cup of damn fine coffee, or, if you're so inclined, some Genre, and meet us in the red room! Weekly Watch: Twin Peaks & Westworld
On this episode of The Weekly Watch: it's finally happened, the Damn Fine TV podcast is finally covering the show that inspired its name, the one, the only...Twin Peaks! Mells and Jasmin dish on the entire first season of the show that turned 30 years old this week. It's Mells' first time watching, so she has plenty of (great) questions and theories, and Jasmin addresses them while giving her best Dolores - otherwise known as avoiding the question almost entirely. And speaking of Dolores...the Damn Fine duo cap the episode off with a deep dive into Westworld Season 3 Episode 4, and they are truly entertaining ALL theories at this point - nothing is off the Mortician's table now. Welcome to our Friday the 13th Spooky Weekly Watch! In honor of this fabulously witchy day, Mells and Jasmin are chatting all about their favourite scary TV episodes. They mention shows as recent as "The Haunting of Hill House" and take a trip all the way back to the early 90s to reminisce about "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" - and, of course, "American Horror Story" comes up once or twice. Plus, we share a few of our own scary stories; well, stories about us being scared, anyways. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - Part 3, Episodes 7 & 8
Well, that's it! That's a wrap on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3! Despite some mixed emotions on these final two episodes, Jasmin and Mells are sad to say goodbye to Sa...well, to Zelda, Prudence, and Ambrose, at least. It's been a fun few weeks, and these ladies learned that the REAL Tardigrade Mysteries were the friends you made along the way...or maybe it's the doubles you made of yourself while messing with time loops and traipsing around the 9th circle of Hell? Something to that effect anyways! This dynamic duo will be back to cover CAOS: Part 4 whenever Hecate blesses us with new episodes... But, until then, Jasmin and Mells aren't going anywhere! AHS: 1984 - Ep.9 - "Final Girl"
This week on the show, I'm thrilled to be joined once again by the fabulous Mells Bells! Overall we were both a little "meh" on this finale; we didn't love it but we certainly didn't hate it. So, we're here to rant about what we disliked and rave about what we loved. Mells and I will be back soon to share our rankings of ALL 9 seasons of American Horror Story, so definitely stay tuned! AHS: 1984 - Ep. 8 - "Rest in Pieces"
Hey Finers! (gonna stick with this for now :-) I'm back solo this week to chat about episode 8 of AHS season 9, "Rest in Pieces." It's a bit of a quick and dirty episode as it's a busy week around the Damn Fine TV household, but, don't worry, I give Dylan McDermott all the praise he deserves! For about the first 10 minutes of the show, in what's quickly becoming the Mr. Robot check-in, I discuss, well, Mr. Robot. This is the definition of a Damn Fine TV Show! I hope you're watching! You can get in touch with me via the emails at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV Thanks for listening; see you next week!

AHS: 1984 - Ep.7 - "The Lady in White"
Hey Finers! (How's that name working for you?) I'm joined this week by my fiancé, Tyler, to discuss episode 7 of AHS season 9. Our reviews on "The Lady in White" are mixed, but we both agree that ice skating is OUT and roller skating is so totally IN! Also, rearview mirrors are boss and you should definitely use them if you're fleeing a serial killer. Just a tip from us here at Damn Fine TV! As not usual, (some might say, unusual) there's no This Week in TV segment for this episode, but I do talk very briefly about how much I'm loving this season of Mr. Robot - episode 4 in particular. You can get in touch with me via the emails at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV Thanks for listening; see you next week!

AHS: 1984 - Ep.6 - "Episode 100"
Hey Finers! (just trying out names for y'all...this one might be a dud) I'm back this week - solo styles - to discuss the 100th episode of American Horror Story. I just have one question: where is Sarah Paulson? As always, before I dive into AHS I chat for around 10 minutes about other TV I've been watching this week. I rec Living With Yourself & Watchmen, and then discuss how I'm looking forward to Castle Rock, Modern Love, and Looking for Alaska. Also, I procrastinate a bit from getting into the main event cause, y'know, *yawn* You can get in touch with me via the emails at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV Thanks for listening; see you next week!

AHS: 1984 - Ep. 5 - "Red Dawn"
This week on the show I'm thrilled to be joined by a very special guest - writer & horror enthusiast, Mells Bells! We had so much to say about both season 9 in general and this season-shifting episode in particular, that this turned into a totally BOSS and SUPERSIZE episode of the pod! What's the deal with all the disembowelling and severed heads? Does it count if you lose your virginity to someone that's undead? And where the hell is ghost Trevor? Also, what's in store for next week's 100th episode?

AHS: 1984 - Ep. 4 - "True Killers"
Just me again, back to discuss episode 4 of AHS, "True Killers." I'm still enjoying the season overall, but I have a few bones to pick with this week's episode, that's for sure. As always, before diving into all things AHS, I get into what I've been watching this week.Though I stay as vague as possible, it's best to avoid the first 10 minutes or so if you don't want to hear about Mr. Robot, Stumptown, or El Camino. I'd love for you to get in touch, so hit me up at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV Thanks for listening; see you next week!

AHS: 1984 - Ep. 3 - "Slashdance"
I'm back this week - with a guest! - to chat about AHS: 1984, ep. 3, "Slashdance." An episode with more twists than a 1960s school dance! Before my guest and I get into all the happenings of the episode (and plenty of theories,) I chat about what I've been watching this week. Spoiler Warning: at about 8:20 I start talking about Orange is the New Black and there are spoilers going back to season four. Steer clear of the first 15 minutes or so, if you don't want to hear my thoughts on Almost Family, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Good Place, and The Politician. I'd love for you to get in touch, so hit me up at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV Thanks for listening; see you next week!

AHS 1984 - Ep. 2 - "Mr. Jingles"
Just me again, back to discuss episode 2 of American Horror Story: 1984. Another banger episode with ghosts, flashbacks, gore, and lots more. Also, I've got THEORIES! Before I dive into that, though, I chat about a few shows I've been watching this week. I stay as vague as possible, but you may want to steer clear of the first 10 minutes if you haven't seen: On Becoming A God In Central Florida, Emergence, or the season 4 premiere of This Is Us.

1 - "Camp Redwood"
The Damn Fine TV podcast is finally back! I'm flying solo this week, chatting about "Camp Redwood", the first episode of American Horror Story: 1984. Choice! Rad! Boss! Other 80s slang! This episode was gory, cheesy, tropey, and a whole hell of a lot of FUN. Corrections: Gus Kenworthy plays the role of Chet, who is fine, but I meant to give a shout out to the actor playing Ray, DeRon Horton. My apologies for the mixup! I'll be sure to also mention this in next week's podcast. I'd love for you to get in touch, so hit me up at damnfinepod@gmail.com OR come chat with me on social media: https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_lila_/ & https://twitter.com/DamnFineTV See you next week!
