The government has released its first official report on its findings of UFO sightings, not by stoned-out citizens but by trained military pilots.  It will come as no surprise to most people that I was a big fan of the TV show the X-Files. I have always believed that we are not the only life forms in a great big unfathomable amount of space. As Carl

“The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”

I took last week off, a sort of mental breakdown and repair week for me. This week I'll continue taking a look at the education of some big-name rock stars and events in history, topics in no way related but all coming together in one place, on the shores of Rambling Harbor.

Yes, you can go to college and be a rock star, and I have a list of who's as bright as an F sharp and not an F student. But one rocker said, "If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library." That and more on the shores of Rambling Harbor.

What rock and rollers threw the biggest birthday parties in days of yore? The weeks look back at significant events in history, a few venting thoughts about Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene, dumb and dumber strike again.

And of course, the usual ramblings that as I've said even I don't know what they are until I'm there.

A list of rock and roll solo artists and groups who have not released an album in 10 years, some historical events from the past week including two movie trivia questions from long ago, a few thoughts on voter suppression, and the usual. I even surprise myself by taking storytelling roads I never planned on. I hope you’ll join me for this week’s Rambling Harbor podcast.

I’m finishing the list of celebrities banned from Saturday Night Live along with a few odd bits of news from rock and roll, all of them happening on April 25  but in different years. I'll have some cat jokes, as in feline funnies, that my cat Shianna insists I tell, and more. As you know I never know where I’m going until I flip on the mic, and even then I’m not sure.

Yes, believe it or not, some guests were banned from SNL for various reasons, and this podcast will tell you who and why. I'll also take a look at some events from long ago and far away that had their historical anniversaries in the last two weeks, and of course there will be the usual spontaneous ramblings, not to mention a trivia question. It’s all here on the shores of Rambling Harbor.

The search for dirty rock lyrics continues from last week, and there will be a Dan Sanders story or two. Heck, what more could you ask for on the first weekend after April Fools’ Day? Well, a lot of rambling tom-, er, Danfoolery as well, all on the shores of Rambling Harbor.

The truth is out there or in here or someplace. Do you ever feel like Diogenes looking for an honest human? Also, I found a bunch of dirty rock songs, which as the great "Purveyor of Truth" I try to be I plan to share with you. All that and who knows what, all on the shores of Rambling Harbor.

As these podcasts begin to slowly morph back into their original intention, which is entertainment news and history, this podcast will take a look at some of the biggest rock and roll stories from the year 2020. There will always be a modicum of politics otherwise it would not be me being me. But mostly, as the world turns and hopefully heals, I would like to have some fun. Of course, me being me, what is true for me today may not be true for me tomorrow.

Today’s podcast will be a real hodgepodge. All week from day to day I have made random, rambling, circuitous notes. And I don’t fully remember what I thought of on Monday or even yesterday or where I may have been going with it. Add to that the stray thoughts that always jump in unexpectedly, and you could say it will be the verbal equivalent of Robert Frost's road less traveled. I have done no rearranging and truly little proofreading.  I do like the mystery of mental and emotional spontaneous combustion (some call it improv), not to mention riding the ragged edge of disaster. When I did live radio shows I was often asked if I prepared what I was going to say while songs were playing. The answer is and always will be no. You can’t plan this stuff. So come on ashore and we’ll get to someplace or nowhere together.

In this week's podcast, you'll hear 21 facts you may not know about January along with a few random rock-and-roll facts, and of course, the usual stories and rambling thoughts from my mind. I'll also discuss reconnoitering my podcast, which I have no doubt someone will tell me is a military term to make a military observation of a region. I know that, and no, I am not about to take the beach at Rambling Harbor. The only way I would do that would be in the summer with me sprawled across a beach towel. In this podcast, I have two personal stories, the first about my friend Phil Berrigan. A semi-professional baseball player a World War II artillery sergeant during the Battle of The Bulge in 1945 and later a Second Lieutenant in the infantry and ordained a priest in 1955. Phil marched for desegregation and participated in sit-ins and bus-boycotts. He engaged in nonviolent, civil disobedience, first in opposition to the Vietnam war, and then nuclear disarmament and was often arrested. And I have a funny story he told me once but also with strong insights into racism and segregation. There is also a story about giving myself a haircut. And of course, the usual ramblings through history, along with a new feature called odd news, and of course a trivia question.

At the beginning of this podcast, I will give have thoughts on the last four years politically, the election, and the vote counting. Then it’s the usual ramblings and musings interwoven with musical and historical facts.

From witchcraft to a witch hunt, Halloween to a presidential election what could be scarier? Also, music history and news and trivia, all that, and as usual so much more, with ramblings and opinions from the mysterious shores of Rambling Harbor.

In this podcast the first I have done with music I present a Halloween special with little know facts about songs like the Monster Mash and Transylvania Twist and their creator Bobby Pickett and Gary S, Paxton and Lenny Capizzi and also who were the Crypt kickers? Also some unknown facts about “Witch City”, Salem Massachusetts which is not very far from where these podcasts originate.

Welcome to another week of ramblings, perhaps more ramblings than usual with thoughts about the election and football, music, movies, and more. A trivia question this one about Saturday Night Live or now known simply as SNL. 

At the beginning of this podcast, I give a little history of how I first started becoming politicized back in 1962. When I started to think and fully realized that I could not leave the questions of whether I would live or die in the hands and feeble minds of a few men in power. And why to this day in spite of all the good intentions to do otherwise I still have to, and yes, I do mean have to write and podcast about politics and world events.

In this podcast, I’ll cover everything from the new information about what is being called pandemic drinking and my thoughts on that and about  Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts closing Cannabis shops and saying liquor stores were essential businesses to my thoughts about President Trump and NFL player Cam Newton testing positive for the virus, not necessarily related to each other.

This podcast has little or nothing to do with summer other than the fact that is being produced on the last day of summer 2020,20 and I have for many reasons always been fascinated by the number 222 which I also will not mention in this podcast.

There will be thoughts on football, Music, and politics, and whatever else pops in and out of my head. Come on aboard and we’ll set sail for someplace.

Some fun facts about Labor Day and other events including a trivia question about the NFL," And of course other fund facts and ramblings.  Heck as I've said I don't know what's in there until we open the door so come on a shore.

So I completed the podcast and my virtual cyber phone lit up as it often did when I did live  broadcast and just so no one else wants to tell me I mispronounced Reykjavik  it is pronounced RAKE-ya-vik, which I think I knew but didn't.
