Success Takes Time
It doesn't matter what activity you are working on, and it takes time to be successful. In this episode, you will hear about the connection between a parent and an educator. There is no right way to raise a human being as a parent. The community needs educators to reinforce the lessons young people learn from home.

Fear Paralyzed Me
My biggest insecurity prevented me from taking action today. It is important to know what scares you, knowing that you can create a plan to circumvent your fear or eliminate it. I am glad I have a strong God that helps me through my fears; I don't have to be brave all the time. I have faith that God will care for me at ALL times, even when I don't do anything.

It Takes a Long Time to Be Successful
It Takes a Long Time to Be Successful We start daydreaming about an idea or something we want to be, do, or have. Our goals or dreams capture our minds and emotions to the possibilities that will open to us once we reach this new goal. All the following: big goals, visions for your life, or any major success you want to achieve will take a lot longer than you anticipate when you start the journey. This dream, idea, or goal energized us to be ready to take on the world. What a feeling? Accomplishing your goals is like climbing a mountain. The time or skills you need to reach the top of the mountain depends on its size. Of course, from afar, climbing the mountain seems easy with smooth terrain and a manageable trail; with eagerness and confidence, you sprint to your starting point. Some days you have a great start, and other times it is a difficult start. At that moment, you realized that I might have miscalculated my skills and the time it will take to complete that task. Often, some people will not make it far enough up the mountain to be invested in the journey because they quit too early. For those people, their dreams, ideas, or goals were not worth the sacrifice. They were not willing to invest the time it will take to accomplish that goal. This is the tricky part of reaching, desiring, and wanting more for your life; you must invest enough money, blood, sweat, and tears to get to the point of no return, and quitting is not an option. That’s the reality that your goals will take longer to reach; you just don’t know how long it will take. Even though it will likely take far longer than you think to reach your goal, keep going until the end. Climbing a mountain is a metaphor to help you understand the concept of the time it takes to be successful. Let me tell you a story. For example, I started my doctorate in 2011 with the complete understanding that I will be done in 4 years. I mapped out all my courses with dates and times of when to complete all of them. I stuck with my plan of completing all my courses within 18 months to give me enough time to complete my dissertation. I did complete all my courses within 18 months. I was very excited and proud of myself. With keeping up with my plan, I thought that I would just quickly complete my dissertation within four years. Nope, that’s not what happened. It took me ten years to finish my doctorate. Many circumstances prevented the finishing of the four years. After year six, I wanted to quit, but I didn’t. I asked for support from my school librarian to help me find a topic to study and formulate my research; that did not work. I was utterly done financially, emotionally, and physically after eight years; I wanted to quit. I did quit, and I didn’t do anything for 11 weeks. Guess what? I couldn’t quit because I had invested too much time, money, and mental energy to quit. I was too far along the journey to just quit. So I continued and pushed forward until I complete my dissertation this year at exactly ten years. I would have never started my doctorate if I knew it would take this long, but it was important for me to have a doctorate. Therefore, I made the sacrifice of time, money, and energy to accomplish my dream. Be patient and keep moving forward.

Struggling with Religion Belief
I am having a hard time with religion lately. I don't see the evidence of any of the so call principles any more in the church. From TM Meditation- The purpose of religion should not only be to indicate what is right and what is wrong, but its purpose should be to elevate man to a state of life so that he will only go for that which is right and by nature will not go for that which is wrong. The true spirit of religion is lacking when it counts only what is right and wrong and creates fear of punishment and hell and the fear of God in the mind of man. The purpose of religion should be to take away all fear from man. It should not seek to achieve its purpose through instilling fear of the Almighty in the mind. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Why Five Paragraphs?
Our brain's internal processing is limited. Therefore, the five-paragraph essay, the structure of the essay: one introductory chunk that introduces a thesis, three supporting notions that back up the thesis, then a reiteration and, perhaps, a slight extension of the thesis, is customized for our brain to retain information. The five-paragraph is build to work with our working memory. In 1956, Harvard cognitive psychologist George Miller published, “The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on Our Capacity for Processing Information. ”

Go Within Yourself!
Take a moment to go to your safe space and go within. The search for the highest value, the search for truth, the search for the ultimate reality is within our self. If you repeat the experience of transcending and you repeat it, and repeat, then it becomes just simply part of who you are. And that is how you experience the Self—not only during meditation, but it becomes a reality even after meditation. This happens because more and more of the Self is now within your self— meaning, that the field of pure consciousness becomes available to us during our daily activity also. Tony Nader, MD, PhD, MARR

Believe in Yourself
You are so great; it takes a lifetime for you to get to know you. The greater you are, the more you need to search for your self. Your deep soul hides itself from consciousness. So you need to increase aloneness, elevation of thinking, penetration of thought, liberation of mind — until finally your soul reveals itself to you, spangling a few sparkles of her lights. Then you find bliss, transcending all humiliations or anything that happens, by attaining equanimity, by becoming one with everything that happens, by reducing yourself so extremely that you nullify your individual, imaginary form, that you nullify existence in the depth of yourself. “What are we?” Then you know every spark of truth, every bolt of integrity flashing anywhere. Then everything gathers to you, without hatred, jealousy, or rivalry. The light of peace and a fierce boldness manifest in you. The desire to act and work, the passion to create and to restore your self, the yearning for silence and for the inner shout of joy — these all band together in your spirit, and you become holy. Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook

If I Stand Still
I want to find joy again in my job. If I stand still maybe the pain will go away. I close my eyes And I pray In the silence, I instantly rush to a first thought And then a second And a third Rapid fire "You are not there" "You do not care" This anxiety and raging mind - could it be blind? It is not kind The surface waves crash, making thunderous sounds Crashing and crashing Upon the shore, and the surface of the sea That is my mind It is not me I close my eyes And I struggle There is knocking at my heart I hurt to even glimpse down towards chest wall It aches for something I cannot comprehend Not with these thoughts rushing through And crashing I want distraction, some temptation to guide me away From this hurt From this heart From this head And the knocking I close my eyes Keeping them shut I do not move; I do not quake I allow the waves to overtake me As ... I ... awake As I am submerged Into the deeper place A different space Below the surface of the sea In a world sublime Colors Coral In stillness Sunbeams silent hitting ocean floor Could there be more? I close my eyes And though chaos rolls all around this bubble That is my cave underwater Yes I am there And yes I do care It's all I really need As heartaches soften into silence And peace arises without a word All that is left is all that I can be Nothing really more to hear, think or say It is me Of this I pray — Jim Ellis

Be a Contender with Life
Choose to fight with life, don't let life beat you down. “I Choose The Mountain” The low lands call I am tempted to answer They are offering me a free dwelling Without having to conquer The massive mountain makes its move Beckoning me to ascend A much more difficult path To get up the slippery bend I cannot choose both I have a choice to make I must be wise This will determine my fate I choose, I choose the mountain With all its stress and strain Because only by climbing Can I rise above the plain I choose the mountain And I will never stop climbing I choose the mountain And I shall forever be ascending I choose the mountain Howard Simon

I Am Still Fighting
It is important to fight for your dream. A poem to put it in perspective. Take a dip in the clear, deep, refreshing water. Allow it to soothe your tired body, your aching heart and your distressed mind. Return to your day rejuvenated and renewed. Allow yourself to spill forth into everything you do, radiating onto all you encounter. Returning to the water whenever you find it necessary for the source is eternal. There you will find no agenda, no goals to meet, no questions to answer or issues to resolve. It is nothing and yet it is everything and it is here for us, in this moment, in the state that we are in. Ever present, ever waiting to accept you and envelop you just as you are. Chris Vitello

Within Me
Within me exist the person I should be in the outside. Somewhere deep within there is a firmer, simpler, warmer human being. This human being trusts this human being accepts both the limits that give a human dignity, and the talents that the world awaits. Somewhere deep within there is a purpose that cannot be shaken, a love that no longer fears, and a wisdom that ennobles life. This human being is both the instrument, and the profound expression of life. Author Unknown

I Pray for My Students
My students are coming to the building for instruction tomorrow. I decided to pray instead of worrying about what if... I Pray for My Students There comes a time where I am overwhelmed with concerns for my students ends and faith begins, but through prayer, I ask God to accompany my students wherever they go. In a world filled with uncertainty and violence, I pray over my students' safety. Praying for my students brings me peace, comfort, and confidence that my students are well emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I pray over my students' future. When I pray, I meditate about the decisions that my students are facing. I trust that my students are on the path to happiness and success. I am confident that my students are making good choices in their friendships, relationships, and careers. Prayer is the force that intersects my vision for my students with the reality that they are making decisions for themselves. Whenever I pray, I visualize the type of relationship I want to have with my students and what it takes to achieve that relationship. I reflect on ways to nurture our relationship, causing it to grow stronger with each passing day. Today, I choose to pray for my students because, even though my influence on them may lessen as they grow older, my dreams for them will stand forever. Self-Reflection Questions: What is your prayer for your students today? How can prayer help you overcome fears or concerns for your students? What do you hope for your students' future?

A Good Day To Be Grateful
The Poem is below “Today” If ever there were a spring day so perfect, so uplifted by a warm intermittent breeze that it made you want to throw open all the windows in the house and unlatch the door to the canary’s cage, indeed, rip the little door from its jamb, a day when the cool brick paths and the garden bursting with peonies seemed so etched in sunlight that you felt like taking a hammer to the glass paperweight on the living room end table, releasing the inhabitants from their snow-covered cottage so they could walk out, holding hands and squinting into this larger dome of blue and white, well, today is just that kind of day. Billy Collins

Did You Know...?
Prayer is my source to stay positive when circumstances seem awful. Reality is more than just my perception. The truth is what I choose to believe about what I perceive. I use the eyes of my soul to see clearly through the lens of faith, regardless of what my physical eyes see. When the world around me gets increasingly hostile, I stay calm because my faith allows me to see beyond current circumstances. Although my instinct is to see negativity, I quickly find something positive to focus on in every situation. A dead-end to one person is the beginning of a new opportunity for me to be creative. When I face obstacles, I immediately pray for the peace of mind. My ability to have a positive attitude in times of crisis begins with inner peace. Prayer is more than just a last resort when I have run out of options; it is the first place I turn. Through the darkest of times, I find comfort in knowing that there is enough grace to face and work through whatever situation I experience. Most of the time, I can be positive in the midst of awful circumstances because I focus on the lesson to be learned rather than the current pain. I am thankful for the difficult moments in life because those are the ones that help me grow. Today, I choose to be a voice of hope when facing education by connecting with you all passionate educators and magnifying you. I turn to prayer as my source to stand my ground and continue teaching even when I would rather quit. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. What lesson can I learn from the situations I find myself in today? 2. What is the role of prayer in adjusting my attitude? 3. How is perception a choice? What do I choose to see when I look at my life?

Birth the Leader in You
Birth the Leader in You Great leaders are made, not born. I am making myself into a great leader daily. Leadership skills are essential, so I make them a priority in my life. Repetition is key to mastering any skill, so I practice being a leader regularly. So, I demonstrate my leadership skills each day. I use every opportunity to practice my leadership skills at home, work, and other areas of my life. Now, I use every opportunity to see life’s challenges through the eyes of a leader. I demonstrate my leadership skills through my actions. I have to control my thoughts and make practical decisions focusing on both present and long terms. I handle situations confidently and competently. I can communicate ideas clearly. People can easily recognize my exceptional leadership skills. I am open to the thoughts and opinions of others. Colleagues, friends, and partners want to support me and my plans. My listening skills are also exceptional because I listen more than I am talking. I can motivate others to do and see their best. Today, I am willing to put my leadership skills on display. I am confident, intelligent, and well-spoken. I lead others effectively. My leadership skills are demonstrated by how I think, act, and communicate. Self-Reflection Questions: 1. What are your best attributes as a leader? 2. What leadership qualities do you need to enhance to be the best leader you can be? 3. How would strengthening your leadership skills enhance your teaching career?

Somewhere deep within there is a firmer, simpler, warmer human being. This human being trusts this human being accepts both the limits that give a human dignity, and the talents that the world awaits. Somewhere deep within there is a purpose that cannot be shaken, a love that no longer fears, and a wisdom that ennobles life. This human being is both the instrument, and the profound expression of life. Author Unknown

Rest Yourelf
Sometimes you have to rest and allow the Universe to care for you. “Enough” Enough. These few words are enough. If not these words, this breath. If not this breath, this sitting here. This opening to the life we have refused again and again until now. Until now David Whyte “AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE CHAPTERS” 1. I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost… I am hopeless. It isn’t my fault. It takes forever to find a way out. 2. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don’t see it. I fall in again. I can’t believe I’m in the same place. But it isn’t my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. 3. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in… It’s a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately. 4. I walk down the same street There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. 5. I walk down another street Portia Nelson From Sogyal Rinpoche, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying
