In this episode of the podcast, I got to know funny ass comedian Scott J. Bennett. We talked about how we both started pursuing comedy, why comedy is important to us, what we think is important to have a good act and what the best Sainsbury’s “taste the difference” product really is.

This episode really granted me perspective and knowledge that id never been exposed to before, especially having been raised so Roman Catholic in my upbringing.

In this last year there has been increasing amounts of hate focused toward Asians across the world, as fools in a state of panic look for a group to blame for what is a global crisis that has negatively affected all of us. This has led to an almost 150% increase in Asian hate crimes in the US, yet alone all of the other countries in Europe and across the world where these kinds of racist attacks both verbally and physically have been becoming more prevalent.

These issues have escalated to a point where Asian people’s lives have not only been changed negatively, THEY’VE BEEN LOST PERMANENTLY.  And on the 16th of March 2020, Soon Chung Park, age 74, Hyun Jung Grant, age 51, Suncha Kim, age 69, Yong Yue, age 63, Delaina Ashley Yaun, age 33, Paul Andre Michels, age 54, Xiaojie Tan, age 49,  and Daoyou Feng, age 44 were all murdered in a HATE CRIME TARGETED AT ASIAN OWNED BUSINESSES. If this isn’t a huge example of the devastating events that ignoring these kinds of issues can create then I don’t know what is.

In this podcast I go through a chronological timeline I’ve made of news articles from the US, UK, Italy and France to show that the growing hate towards Asian was seen and ignored. I also did this to help show people the way that the media is regionalising this issue to put up a smoke screen for what has been a growing GLOBAL phenomenon and downplaying the realities of the racism that has been on the rise for the last year or so. For the most place I think the media has been trash, misleading and shady in how they’ve presented these stories and it’s disgusting

In today’s episode I was lucky enough to have long time friend and supportive listener Ann-Marie (as well as smart af law student) join me to discuss the media’s discourse and one-sidedness on the Meghan and Harry interview coverage. Since the conception of their relationship there has been criticisms questioning both their characters and legitimacy. And it’s safe to say these criticisms have not stopped at what wedding dress Meghan “chose” for her big day, they have consistently made racial stereotypes and character assassinations their main means of covering this story. And as we break down some examples of media coverage on this story it is clear to see.

After dismantling this topic like a watch maker, we move on to more fun topic. Like the “Am I the A**hole” segment, which if I have to say so myself hit it out the park with the toxicity this week XD.

This Mother's Day i thought it was only appropriate to sit down and have my Mum as the special guest for this episode. 

I asked what questions people have always wanted to ask they're own mother, but either never had the chance or the balls to ask. In this pod I've asked my Mum these burning questions on your behalf, and i have to say the amount of perspective I gained from this one conversation will stick with me my whole life. 

I would recommend to anyone out there, speak to your Mums, ask your mums questions, laugh, cry, converse, and it will only help strengthen your relationship.
