Silence and Violence
When is it right, or wrong to stay silent when you witness evil around you? Surprisingly, the Bible gives us some pretty clear and helpful guidance and keeps us pointing in the right direction.
Why We Speak: Welcome to Season 4!
Welcome back to Anchored and Devoted - Season 4! That’s right! After three years of tuning in to listen to our nonsense, you’ve decided to come back again - and for that we are hugely grateful and more than a little bit bewildered.
Pete and Repeat were in a boat.
Season 3 of Daily Gains 90 is live. If you haven't already subscribed, we would be honored if you would subscribe and join us for the next 90 days in God's word.
You might be wondering why we do the Pete and Repeat. Well, we tell you in this bonus episode.
Thanks for checking it out, and thanks for coming along with us!
Daily Gains 90 is right around the corner!
Here's a quick reminder to join us on Jan 1 for the start of Season 3 of Daily Gains 90. Your 90 day new years workout in the Word!
Merry Christmas from Daily Gains
Hi again, we hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and revel in the joy of our Savior's birth.
Please make sure that you are subscribed to the Daily Gains 90 podcast to start your new year with as in God's word.
Daily Gains Season 3 is almost here!
Hi, Pastors Jeremy and Joseph are back for season three of Daily Gins 90. We will be continuing through the book of Psalms and opening up the book of Ecclesiastes. Season three will start on January 1st. Join us for 15 minutes of inspiration, reflection and being strengthened in God's word.
Saying Farewell to Season 3
As you, our loyal listener, know - we ended season three of Anchored and Devoted a month early this year. As I, Pastor Jeremy, was looking to put up a short Thanksgiving greeting I found the last episode that Pastor Joseph and I recorded where we closed things out and said goodbye. I had meant to upload this a month ago.
So, better late than never, here it is in all of it's juicy goodness.
We hope you and all of your's have a very happy and rich Thanksgiving! We'll see you in January for the start of season three of Daily Gains 90.
God's Love Language: Obedience
According to Jesus, love is not a four-letter word. In fact it's best spelled 0-b-e-d-i-e-n-c-e. Don't believe me? Then join us as we look at what Jesus says to His disciples in John 14:15.
That is a wrap to season 3 - Thanks!
Hi, Pastor Joseph and Pastor Jer are closing down the third season of A&D a little early this year. And they'll explain why in this short wrap up.
We have been truly blessed to be with all of our listeners this season, and we are so grateful to all of the pastors who joined us to tell their stories.
We are closing early, but we are not going away. We'll have some bonus episodes in the next couple of months, and our other podcast Daily Gains 90 will be starting in January as it has for the past 2 years. Then, A&D will be back in May of 2024.
Thank you all for coming along with us for this adventure. We'll talk soon!
J&J
He Will Never Permit the Righteous to Be Moved
Hi. We are in Psalm 55:22 today as we continue through Verses Every New Believer Should Know. This Happy Monday Morning we are going to look at the gentle heart of a good and loving father. Come for God's word, stay for the blessing!
A Way of Escape
Deal with temptation much?
We do, and that is why we have included 1 Corinthians 10:13 in our list of Verses Every New Believer Should Know. Buckle up cuz this one keeps it real. Proceed at your own risk.
Fleecing God
Today on Anchored and Devoted we have the joy of sitting down with Pastor Dr Bernard Winchester. Pastor Bernard serves at First Baptist Church of Fairmount Heights,, MD. The Sin Problem
Today on Verses Every New Believer Should Know we are jumping into 1 John 1:9, and we might even go a little further. Pull out your ESV and join us as we see what God has to say about our problem with sin.
Retrospect Yourself!
As we are coming to the end of season 3 of A&D Dave and I sat down to talk about the surprises, challenges, and benefits of the interviews we have done this season with MD area pastors.
We are our own entertainment, and we hope that this is encouraging and entertaining for you as well.
God's Promise: All These Things Will Be Added To You
We are in Matthew 6:33 today to look at this often misunderstood and mis-applied promise as we continue in our mini-series of God's Promises.
Here in season 3 of Anchored and Devoted we have been doing a series we've called, "Verses every new christian should know." each Monday. Our purpose in doing these is to help you be equipped for the life of faithful obedience to God that you have been called and empowered to through the Holy Spirit.
Today's passage comes with a tremendous promise and also a huge challenge. Are we up for it?
A perfect Performance?
Today on Anchored and Devoted we had the chance to sit down with our first worship pastor. Eddie Spuler serves at Cross Pointe Church in Arnold, Maryland where he is involved in various ministries including the worship ministry.
As a fellow musician, Eddie and Pastor Jeremy got to stretch out a little and talk music shop.
To find out more about Pastor Eddie you can check out
Cross Pointe Church's website or e-mail Pastor Eddie at
God's Promise: Straight Paths
We are continuing in our mini-series on God's Promises today in Proverbs 3:5-6 where God promises to make our paths straight. And like in last's weeks episode, this one comes with a growth point for us: Trust.
It is often hard to follow God. He is invisible, and we can't touch him, or hear the sound of His voice. Trusting a God who we can't see, heart or touch is hard, and so following Him is heard, especially when the road in front of us is uncertain and crooked and rutted. Yet, He is a faithful and powerful God who loves His children and even in the pitch of dark guides their every step.
Follow Me As I Follow Christ
Happy Friday!!! Today we have a hot mic situation. Pastor Dave and I were getting ready to record a Monday episode of Verses Every New Believer Should Know when we, as we often do, started talking about the various things we were thinking about. We happened to already be recording, and we decided to share this conversation with you. It's a real discussion we are having off the top of our heads. In fact, we only decided to make this an episode after we got to the end of the discussion. I put an "episode ending" on it so that we could, and that was the first indication to either of us that we would use that recording.
So join us as we ... just.... talk...
God's Promises: Peace
We are continuing with our mini-dive into Scriptures that Every New Christian Should Know with a new focus on God's Promises. Today's promise: Pease. But wait... there's more.
We are going to jump into John 16:33 where Jesus is praying for His disciples that they might have pease in the midst of their tribulation. Come along with us as we stretch out under the prayer from our Heavenly Older Brother.
Making Room for Differences
Today on A&D we sat down with Pastor Temi Akinsanya, pastor of Restoration Church Laurel in North Laurel, MD.

Be Like Jesus
We're wrapping up our mini dive into worship with today's episode. When you think about worship you may have a particular picture in mind. But do you think about imitation as being worship? In 1 Peter 3:8-12 this is exactly what we find. The encouragement and direction given to us in this passage is to walk like Jesus and thereby show how wonderful He truly is.
Deny Yourself and Follow Me
Hi, and welcome back! It's great to have you with us again this Friday, or whenever you're listening
Today we sit down with Pastor Lonnie Harris of Forcey Bible Church .

Revealed Part 3: He Alone Is Worthy
What makes Christianity different than any other religion? In a word, Jesus. So, what makes Jesus different than every other religious leader in the world? Well, that's what we are going to look at today as we continue with verses every new Christian should know. We will be back in Revelation 5:9 - 12 and we will see that when we enter into worship it is before an audience of One. One who alone is worthy, who alone was able to live with man. Who alone was able to redeem man. And, who alone has crowned man with eternal life. Come check it out with us now.

Revealed Part 2
Worship is a team ... thing. Today we are in Revelation Chapter 4 verses 4 - 11 to look at the vision that the Apostle John has of the worship that is poured out to God by all of His creation in concert with one another. When we pray and when we worship we enter into a eternal and universal event where God and His majesty are the centeral event. This is so much more than Sunday morning singing
for the new and the well seasoned believer.
Practicing the Way of Jesus

Revealed: Part 1
We are sticking with the Apostle John today, but we are heading back to the book of Revelation for this episode of verses every Christian should know. Have you ever wondered what worship in Heaven is, or will be like? We are going to kick this around a bit while we think through the reality that all true worship is a part of an eternal worship service at the throne of God.
The Estuary
Joining us today is Pastor Aaron Mayhew. Pastor Mayhew serves at Downtown Hope in Annapolis MD and as the director of Estuary. He's going to share his story of God's providence and provision in his life.

The Salvation Test
Today we continue in verses every new Christian should know and we are looking at 1 John 5:11- 13. We are going to consider the simplicity of the two part test that John offers as an encouragement to believers who find themselves asking, "Am I really saved?" Most Christians will wrestle with this question at numerous times through their life. That wrestling is at best uncomfortable, and often very destabalizgin. John is here to help. Come and find out what he has to say to us.
Don't Be Afraid!

Excuse me! Where's My Confidence?
We are continuing through verses every new Christian should know. Today we are looking at one of Pastor Jeremy's all-time favorites. Look with us at what St. Paul says to his young disciple Timothy as St. Paul knows that his own life is shortly going to be ended in Rome.
Do I fit in the Church?

Powerful Love
True love is strong love. It is able to hold on even through the roughest experiences. St. Paul tells
us in Romans 8:38-39 that our security is not dependent on our love for God, but on His unfailing, overwhelming, unstoppable love for us. Rest with us today as we slide into these verses.
The Walk About
Have you ever been stalked by God? Have you ever been the person stalking someone else for God? In this week's Pastor Friday we are going to meet John and find out what following the leader truly means.
If you want to get involved with the work John is doing you can follow him a:
A Sharp Word
HEBREW 4:12 is an amazing passage which sets the table for us to come to know God for who He truly is. Come and tremble with us as we look into the word today.
Full Circle
Love and the Law
This morning open up to Psalm 119:11 as we continue chewing on how to think about God's Word. We are almost through a mini series inside of this minisieres taking a close look at how God speaks to us, and how we can listen on purpose.
Happy July!
Pastor Dave and Pastor Jeremy are on vacation this week. So, instead of putting up the next MD area pastor interview, we are going into the way-back machine to pull out a season 1 favorite on what to look for in a healthy church.
Enjoy and we'll see you in a couple days... with better tans!
Who Says?
As we continue going through verses every new Christian should know we are stopping to visit with Paul again in @ Timothy 3:16. Yeah, not THAT 3:16 this3:16.
This one is a biggie. Is the Bible God's Word, or just the words of men? If it is just men's words how can we trust what it says? Curious yet - then stick around.
Simply Jesus
