S2E19: Pesky Paranormals
"I wish there was a word for being uncomfortable."
Welcome to another week Deathies! Listen in this week as we discuss the life and death of infamous Tupac Shakur who has always been a cornerstone of 90's rap. Then we discuss 15 real haunted places around the world and their back story including the Cecil Hotel where traveler Elisa Lam was found in the water tower on the roof and her death was ruled as an accidental drowning, despite some really strange hotel footage of her in the elevator. Trigger warning there are topics of suicide. Enjoy and don't forget to like, subscribe and find us on all the socials.
S2E18: Ferda Boys
"We are looking for a body gentlemen." Hey all! Hunker down and grab a snack, because it's a long one. On this weeks episode of Death Becomes Us we discuss the crazy world of Pazuzu Algarad, a charismatic murderer who left behind a wake of confusion after his arrest and eventual death. Trust us, it's also super gross. Then we talk about the Texarkana Moonlight Murders, a series of unsolved murders and attacks that inspired the first slasher film - The Town that Dreaded Sundown.
As always, we are doing our best to keep getting content out to you all while still being careful and social distancing as much as possible. We hope everyone is well and that you all are able to stay safe!
Until next week, goodnight don't die!
S2E17: More Skrrt Skrrt Less Hurt Hurt
“Bang! Bang! And a bad time was had by all.”
Buckle up deathies, this week we have cults and occultists, mass suicide and murder most foul. First we discuss the murder of Dr. Charles Scudder and Joey Odom - who built a “castle in the woods” - a self sufficient manor aptly named Corpsewood Manor. The two were brutaly slain by guests Tony West and Avery Brock. Then we jump into the Heaven’s Gate cult, a religious movement started by Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles in the 70’s which ended in the mass suicide of 39 individuals who believed their death would result in alien abduction and human perfection. Don’t forget to like and subscribe and find us on the socials. Happy listening!
S2E16: A Jane But Not A Doe
Oh why hello there! Welcome to another episode of Death Becomes Us. First things first, we know life is crazy right now for everyone - us included. We wish you all well!
With this in mind, we are doing our best to keep making content for you guys, but also staying safe and abiding the rules set in place for that. Our audio is a bit weird this week as we try and navigate our new set up - we bump a table a lot. Sorry, that's our bad.
Meanwhile, let's dive into the actual episode. We start off talking about Christa's one true love: Cryptids. And discuss multiple sightings of the Jersey Devil, a creature said to have cloven hooves, forked tail and a horse-like head with horns. Standing at over 6 feet tall, it sounds like a terrifying being. Afterwards, we take a dive into the case of John List. A father and accountant aficionado that was involved in the murder of his entire family. On the run for more than 18 years, a little known show called America's Most Wanted gave police what they needed to track him down. As always, thanks so much for listening guys! Stay safe, we love you.
Goodnight, don't die.
S2E15: The Men in Black and The Beekeepers
Welcome to the murder mystery show, choose your own adventure. This week we discuss two very heavy cases and it is a wild time. First we discuss the case of the Alcàsser Girls; Miriam García Iborra, Antonia "Toñi" Gómez Rodríguez and Desirée Hernández Folch were teenagers in Spain who were kidnapped, raped and tortured after hitchhiking to a nearby town to a night club on November 13, 1992. The case was notorious in Spain due to the extreme brutality of the crimes, shotty police work and heavy media coverage. The second case is the 1991 Austin Yogurt shop murders in which Amy Ayers, Eliza Thomas, Jennifer Harbison and her younger sister Sarah were murdered inside a yogurt shop where two of them were working. The shop was also set on fire and the case spanned several years, had a slew of false confessions and to this day has not been solved. Don’t forget to follow us on the socials and like, subscribe or comment. Goodnight, don’t die.
S2E14: Probable Speculation!
Greetings! And welcome back to another episode of Death Becomes us. This week we decided to take a little trip back in time and talk about the assassination of Malcolm X. A crime that many believe to still not be solved, despite three men being convicted. Next we discuss the murder of JonBenét Ramsey, a case that has never been solved and is still labeled as an active investigation, despite the events happening over 20 years ago. Find us on most all podcast hosts!
S2E13: Pterodactyl Noises Intensify
I want to eat mangoes and take a nap! Welcome to this week's episode of Death Becomes Us. We decided to try something a little different this week, as time didn't permit us to do our usual format. Instead, we decided to do a deep dive into a case we swore off touching long ago: the murder of Hae Min Lee and eventual (infuriating) conviction of her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed. Hae, an incredibly smart and beautiful high school senior went missing in January of 1999, with her body being found a month later. Despite no physical evidence and an incredibly unreliable 'eye-witness', Adnan is found guilty and is still imprisoned to this day. This case is a mess, we're a mess. Get ready for a lot of info and feel free to do your own deep dive after! Thanks for always supporting us and for going on this journey. Goodnight, don't die!
S2E12: Yikes Forever
Rants, rants, rants, rants! This week on Death Becomes us, we take a tour through the twisted case of Diane Downs, a mother who...well, she's not winning any mother-of-the-year awards, lets just say. Then we get a little ranty, a little worked up, as we take a dive into the terror that is McKamey manor, a full contact, no rules, haunted house. Spoiler alert: we definitely won't be going and neither should you. Rate, review and subscribe. Listener discretion advised.
P.S --- I apologize for the audio in this episode, our set up wasn't as stable as it should've been. I'm still learning how to clean up audio and will do better in the future, I promise. Thank you for the unending support Deathie Fam.
S2E11: A Lone Shoe Is Always a Concern
“Theresa sweetie, I don’t know what happened to you but it wasn’t good.” OOOOF. This week we discuss Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka known as the “Ken and Barbie” killers. Together they were responsible for the death of several young girls, including Karla’s own sister Tammy and Paul terrorized women as the Scarborough Rapist. Then we go way back and discuss the history around the strange religious phenomenon known as “Stigmata” in which spontaneous wounds appear on the body usually in a similar fashion to Christ’s. Don’t forget to rate review and subscribe, follow the socials and find us everywhere podcasts can be found. Listener discretion advised.
S2E10: A Little Bit of Murder to Start the Day
"We respect you, but we don't respect your opinion." This week on Death Becomes us, we turn our focus to the Bermuda Triangle, a strange stretch of sea where multiple disasters have happened. (Spoiler alert: we've been through it.) And then listen in as we talk about the senseless murder of Adrianne Jones, a cross country runner who was unfortunate enough to know David Graham and Diane Zamora. Thanks for listening! And don't forget to rate, review, subscribe, share with your friends and family, but most importantly: goodnight, don't die!
S2E9: Thanks I hate It
"I just want you to shut up - how about some trepanning?"
