273. WBW Theater Classic Old Time Radio - World War I Songs - America, I Love You
A mid fields of clover,  'T was just a little over a hundred years ago,  A handful of strangers,  they faced many dangers to make their country grow, It's now quite a nation of wond'rous population, And free from every king,  It's your land, it's my land,  A great do or die land,  And that's why I sing. From all sorts of places,  They welcomed all the races to settle on their shore,  They didn't care which one,  The poor or the rich one,  They still had room for more,  To give them protection,  By popular election,  A set of laws they chose,  They're your laws and my laws,  For your cause and my cause, That's why this country rose. America, I love you,  You're like a sweetheart of mine, From ocean to ocean,  For you my devotion, is touching each bound'ry line,  Just like a little baby,  Climbing it's mother's knee,  America, I love you,  And there's a hundred million other's like me. 231. WBW Theater Classic Old Time Radio - Adventures Of The Scarlet Cloak - Audition Program
This is a story of the golden west as it was more than a hundred years ago, a land of mystery and intrigue, a romantic paradise where the dames and señoritas held their ancient customs while rubbing elbows with rugged american frontiersmen and pioneers, where lace trimmed handkerchiefs from Barcelona were carried next to the heart and the crude buckskin jackets. The territory was a melting pot, quiet on the surface like the pacific but torn with undercurrents and rip tides. It was a restless and growing land  where the strong made their own laws and the weak obeyed or perished .  This is the saga of Brad Carver, a fabulous man in a fabulous land . Some called him an angel, some called him a devil and many claimed that he never lived at all but the story of Brad Carver is as colorful and exciting as were his roaring guns and flashing rapier as he cut a flaming swath through this glorious land... 206. WBW Theater Classic Old Time Radio - Information, Please - Louis Bromfield
A new type of question and answer game in which the public quiz the professionals. The public are invited to send in questions with their answers and if they are used on the show the sender gets $2. Further more if the professionals get them wrong the sender gets a further $5. The show was created and run by Dan Golenpaul whose idea was to reverse the typical type of quiz show by allowing an intelligent, educated public ask the questions and put the alleged authorities on the spot. He certainly got the mix right by employing Clifton Fadiman as moderator of a panel of four experts, which would always include 2 or 3 regulars and guest personalities. Fadiman himself came from a background in books being a book critic for the New Yorker. Other regulars included Science writer Bernard Jaffe, professor of philosophy Dr Harry Overstreet, Marcus Duffield of the New York Herald-Tribune and later John Kieran a sport's columnist for the New York Times and Oscar Levant a pianist and composer. What all of these had in common was their broad interests and knowledge and quick and slicing wit. The intellectual questions were a catalyst for talk and the hilarious humor that emerged. "An uproarious error or a brilliant bit of irreverence was rated far above any dull deliverance of the truth," wrote John Kieran, one of the four major personalities. Go ahead and sample any of these shows and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Broadcast Date: January 3, 1944

125. WBW Theater Classic Old Time Radio - Address Unknown - The Search for Anthony Atwell
This story is a dramatization of a real case of a missing person taken from the Missing Persons Bureau files in London but for obvious reasons names and addresses have been changed.  There are many attractions for the tourists in London in fact almost as many as there are tourists. Of all the attractions London has to offer there are none to compare for color and splendor as the pomp and ceremony of the changing of the guard. On this day Henry Simon head of the Bureau of Missing Persons had been held up in a traffic jam near Buckinham Palace by the changing of the guard on the same day he was visited in his office by an old friend Sir Robert Attwell whose son was a member off the royal guard. He could tell be the look on his face that something was wrong. Sir Robert Attwells's son Anthony Attwell had disappeared without a trace. Last Tuesday afternoon he was on duty at Buckingham palace then shortly after three he was found missing from his post by one of the constables on duty. His bearskin helmet and coat were later found in a sentry box and Anthony was reported as a deserter. He hasn't been seen since. Starring: Henry Simon Broadcast Date: 1967

121. WBW Theater Classic Old Time Radio - It Pays To Be Ignorant - Why Are Women Like The Ocean
A quiz show spoof that lampooned other quiz shows of the time such as Information, Please and The Quiz Kids. The format of the show was simple. Three nitwits made up the "board of experts". They spent more time trying to figure out what the question was than actually giving a sensible answer. The questions were as ludicrous as the ones in this episode “Why are women like the ocean? Answer: Because they never dry up!” or “Why doesn’t a regular soldier sit down? Answer: Because he belongs to the standing army!”. Critics slated the show when it first appeared and said it wouldn’t last. They were wrong. The show ran for nine years. Starring: Tom Howard, George Shelton, Harry McNaughton, Lulu McConnell
