In the mid 1960's an English physicist and a yoga teacher are holding regular discussion sessions with middle-class professional Australians which would soon turn into one of the most notorious cults in Australia's history. Anne Hamilton Byrne, lead the sect known as The Family and they had only one rule: Obey Anne. Join Allie and Amanda as we discuss how the cult formed and how Anne was able to take money from the members to buy multiple properties in Melbourne, England and the USA. We also dive into how Anne and the psychiatrists of The Family used LSD and other various drugs to recruit members and keep them in line, how they were able to illegally adopt so many children, and the horrible conditions and abuse the children were kept in... This is a doozy of an episode.
