Ep. 2: Belarus' Women-Led Uprising
One year ago, Belarusian women were at the forefront of an unprecedented wave of peaceful pro-democracy protests following a disputed presidential election — but in the months that followed, the Belarusian regime has suppressed nearly every form of opposition activism.
We discuss Belarus' women-led uprising and its aftermath with Katsiaryna Shmatsina, a Rethink.CEE Fellow at the German Marshall Fund and a research fellow at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, and Maryia Rohava, a doctoral research fellow on Belarus and Eurasia at the University of Oslo.
