186. It’s Possible to Mess Up My Kids. Is It True?
Most of us have had this fear somewhere within us, that I might possibly mess up my kids. Is it true? Can I mess up my kids?
Today, I’m diving a bit deeper into this popular parent worry and what drives it. Let’s get curious together and look under the hood.

185. A tribute to Mothers
Today, I am sharing my thoughts on Mothering. Mother’s Day can mean many things to many people. In a culture that judges mothers based on their child’s behavior, mothering can be extremely stressful. Who did I have to be for my mother to be seen as a good mother? Who do my children have to be for me to be seen as a good mother? When we are not willing to look at our truth it will eventually come out sideways. If we don’t heal our own wounds (the things that trigger us) we WILL hand these wounds to the next generation.

184. “I’m Bored”
“Boredom is a defense to emotional awareness.”
-Gary Zukav
On today’s episode we are talking about boredom.
Boredom is a form of resistance. It is resistance to becoming aware of what you are feeling. This is the ROOT of boredom.
Boredom is not right or wrong nor good or bad. Boredom is natural.
We can fall into drama roles around boredom. Boredom can be empowering, building skills such as initiative, self-reliance, and problem-solving skills as well as creativity, curiosity, and flexibility. It also builds tolerance for discomfort.
Allowing your children to own their own boredom and find their own solutions is essential in helping them build important life skills.
In this episode you will learn how to use boredom as an opportunity and ways to respond to your child when they proclaim, “I’m bored.”

182. Part 3 - Boundaries
Today’s episode is the third part of a three-part series defining the difference between punishment, consequences and boundaries. These three topics are often misunderstood and can become intertwined. They are, however, very different. Today we are talking about boundaries.
Let's break it down:
Punishment – Blame. Focused on the problem.
Consequence – Support. A plan for a new outcome. Focused on solutions.
Boundaries – How I get my own needs met. Also, solution focused.
Boundaries is all about taking ownership of my own thoughts, feelings and actions. It is about living in alignment with my truth. Boundaries require radical self-awareness. They are liberating. Boundaries put you in control of you. Boundaries are between YOU and YOU even when they involve other people. It is not your responsibility to manage other people’s response to your truth. It is not other people’s responsibility to maintain your boundaries.

#181 Part 2 – Effective Consequences
Today’s episode is the second part of a three-part series in providing more clarity around punishment, consequences and boundaries.
I find that these three things can be wildly misunderstood.
I am offering this series to provide some clarity around how each of these is different. Often, we use these words interchangeably however, each carry a different energy, purpose and impact.
On this episode, we dive into effective consequences.
Key takeaways:
· A true consequence is about how one FEELS about the impact of their choices and actions
· Effective Consequences are about taking ownership of one’s choices and actions
· Trust must be present to take ownership
· Effective Consequences focus on solutions rather than the problem
· Effective Consequences create problem solvers
· Effective Consequences keep self-worth in tact
· With Effective Consequences the child becomes part of the solution
· Effective Consequences is about solving a problem without diminishing anyone in the process
· 3 elements of Effective Consequences are: Reflection, Make a plan, Follow-up
· 3 types of Effective Consequences are: Natural, Logical and Problem Solving

179. Punishment, Consequences, Boundaries OH MY! What’s the Difference?
Do you find that the lines between punishment, consequences and boundaries can be blurred and confusing?
Culturally, we often change words. However, when the lens in which we look through doesn’t change, they become intertwined. I am offering this three-part series to provide you with more clarity. Through this series you will be invited to open up to new perceptions and insights.
In this episode we will dive into punishment, what it is and its impact.
In this episode I talk about how punishment:
· Creates shame & self-doubt
· Creates a barrier to decision making
· Creates perfectionism
· Erodes self-worth and creates the belief of not good enough
· Creates separation and a “me” vs. “you” dynamic
· Is used for adult convenience and emotional relief
· Creates pleasers and controllers- (drama roles)

#177 How do I deal with a negative attitude?
“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
— William Shakespeare
Are you surrounded by negative people? Perhaps you have a child who always seems to see from the glass half empty.
I have been getting questions lately about how to deal with other people’s negative attitude. Today, I share some of the following thoughts on negativity.
What is your relationship to negativity? Did you learn NOT to be negative? Temperament can play a part in negativity. What you resist, persists and grows bigger. Are you overcompensating for positivity? How can you manage your energy rather than taking on the energy of others?
Tune in and let’s untangle our resistance to negativity.

172. Building Confidence w/ Kristi Simon
In this episode I am joined by Kristi Simon, a teen confidence coach.
In this conversation Kristi and I dive into what confidence is and how we can help our teens grow their sense of confidence.
Kristi shares her story about how avoiding her feelings lead to self-destructive behaviors and her journey back to herself.
We discuss emotional intelligence and its impact on mental health.
Kristi is a wife, and a mom of two, Hendrix (3 years old) and Beatrix (1 year old). After the birth of her son in 2020, she began imperfectly creating change in her life, these changes, although for a better life, were met with many challenges along the way. Looking back it is clear that the breakdowns she faced were necessary to reveal the breakthroughs that continue to help her on her journey towards living in alignment with what her soul truly desires and to inspire others to do the same.
As a certified teacher and holistic health coach, she is beginning to truly embody what she is really passionate about teaching and sharing, healing our body, mind, and soul, with practices that allow us to truly come home to our most authentic self. Ways she loves sharing her gifts - on her podcast Confident Teen, in her book Body Bliss 2 - and through her teen life and confidence coaching business at Teach with Love.

168. Taking Ownership of Your Health & Fitness w/Adrianna Mastronardi
On today’s episode I am joined by health and fitness coach Adriana Mastronardi.
How do busy moms find time to focus on their own health and fitness? How do we stay consistent with our health and fitness goals? Adriana breaks it down for us in this episode.
Adriana is an Environmental Engineer with a master’s degree in environmental health. In 2008, she quit her job as an engineer to pursue her passion for teaching. After her 3rd child was born, she felt that she got lost in the shuffle of raising a family and working full time. So, she set out on a journey of re-discovery. She found fitness and quickly fell in love with getting strong. She fell in love with taking care of herself first, so she could show up for those that are important to her in the right ways.
Through her journey, she realized her passion for helping other women feel good in their bodies, so she completed a nutrition coaching certification and her personal training license. She wants other women to understand the importance of making time for themselves, while using fitness and nutrition to help guide that process.

164. The Best Gift
The BEST GIFT I have received is the understanding and practice of healthy boundaries. The gift boundaries give is that it fills us up with self-respect, self-esteem, self-love and self-worth.
If you find boundaries confusing you are not alone. I too, was lost when it came to boundaries. I have been on both sides – from over giving, peacekeeping, and exhausted to discovering the TRUE MEANING of boundaries and feeling connected, calm and more peaceful.
Boundaries align us with our TRUTH. It is not your job to manage anyone else’s experience or response to your truth. Boundaries are not set through blame or payback. Healthy relationships are at the heart of boundaries.

160. A Different Version of Motherhood
I don't want to mess up my kids.
I don't want my kids to feel the way I did.
I don't want to do it the way my parents did.
These are comments and statements, or some version of them, that I hear from parents around the globe AND they are ones that I claimed myself.
I think what it really means is, I want to give my children a different mothering experience.
I wanted to offer a different version of what was offered to me.
I had to BECOME the mother I always wanted so I could offer a different experience to my children.
This is an INSIDE job.
We must do our INNER work to free ourselves and our children from unhealthy behavioral patterns passed down from generations before us. These not only come from our own individual family systems but also from our culture as a whole.
It is never to late to BECOME the mother you want for your children!!

The Need to Be Right
Do you feel the insatiable need to be right? Or maybe you give up being right to others to avoid conflict. Which actually means you are silenced into go along with others to get along. If this is you, you may be playing the victim in your life. If you take on the stance of, “I’m always right” you may be playing the persecutor in your life. Both roles are a way to avoid conflict and defend our own sense of self-worth. Both roles create drama and more conflict in our lives. In today’s episode we navigate the need to be right as we move from controlling to connecting.

Here we are in November and for me, I am looking to stay grounded as we head into the holiday season. In today's episode I am joined by a guest, K. Margaret Solorio, who is the host and creator of the Delicious EASE podcast and a time freedom mentor.
She lives in Northern California with her husband and two kids, and helps women live and work with more time freedom and ease. In 2020, like so many others, the pandemic flipped her life on its side. She faced some of her greatest fears and took responsibility for her happiness. It was through this journey she learned that changing her mindset and managing her relationship with time had the power to change her life. Life is what we experience. Our expectation of time and the quality of time spent make all the difference. She has created her Sparkle Time membership for women, coaching programs, the Delicious EASE podcast and shop to support women in transforming from feeling they never have enough time for anything to knowing we have more than enough time for everything. She is also currently writing a book about transforming your default mindset. Connect with K. Margaret :

155. Perfection & The Power of Noticing
Do you relate to perfection? The need to be a certain way or do things a certain way so as to not feel judged by the world? I have been known to say (quite often) that I am a recovering perfectionist. I now realize that when I can notice where perfection shows up, acknowledge it and work with it I can continue to move the needle in the direction of my truth. In this episode I talk about how perfection showed up for me last week and how I am working with it.
154. Working With Emotions In The Body
Did you know that 95% of what we do each day is coming from an unconscious program? This program downloaded in early childhood runs the show. It's time to bring the unconscious to the conscious where we can work with it and download a conscious more empowering program into our system. This is the power of working with the subconscious mind. Whether its through hypnosis, reinvention or the parenting program my commitment through the work I do is to empower you to create the life you most desire. In today's episode I offer you the gift of hypnosis to explore emotions in your body.

153. Discovering Boundaries through Reinvention
We tend to have an idea of what boundaries are. Culturally, most of us were not taught boundaries nor did we have a model for them. The traditional model is focused on compliance. It looks through a lens of control. So, typically when we think about boundaries we are looking through a lens of control. Boundaries are the opposite of control. Boundaries are the new paradigm.
In this episode I have a conversation with Kim, a Reinvention client, who went from resisting boundaries to embracing boundaries and finding the freedom that they offer.

I often hear people say, “I have this awareness but now what?” What they are really asking is, “ How do I create change?” In this episode, we talk about how to create the change you are seeking once you have the awareness using the transformation equation coined by Nancy Levin, which is CHANGE=VISION+CHOICE+ACTION.

151. "CHORES"
Do you experience frustration, anger, and/or resistance with “chores” and your children? I did too and I hear many parents voice this frustration. It has created curiosity within me, and I wanted to take a deeper look at this dynamic. We also have a teenager in our home, and we have been exploring what household tasks might look like, sound like and feel like from a new perspective. A perspective of collaboration versus reward and punishment. It has been insightful as we engage in conversations and collaborate on possible solutions. One thing I have learned is that solutions evolve over time. And as solutions evolve so does the relationship.
We are taking “chores” from obligation and power struggle to collaboration and growth. It is both emotionally uncomfortable and empowering for all involved.
This is a BIG conversation and one that may create some fear and discomfort. I would love to hear your thoughts.

#146 Breaking Up with Busy
Are you a doer? Do you keep yourself busy all day long? Cultural messages about “hard work” and “making something of yourself” have us in the busy hamster wheel. Busy makes us feel productive and important. It’s like I matter if I’m busy.
Do you find yourself needing to look busy when your partner arrives home, or someone walks in the room or perhaps by your office? This habit of busy starts in our early experiences to keep ourselves contained and out of trouble. Maybe you received negative messages about lazy and you decided not to be that. We often overcompensate for the rejection of lazy by staying BUSY.
We continue this habit into adulthood except now it is no longer serving us. It is draining us.
Tune into today’s episode as I invite you to start recharging your batteries and use guilt as a sign you are moving in the right direction AND taking your time inventory.

#143. 3 Gifts We All Have
As humans we all have 3 jobs. These are the gifts we all innately have – To THINK, to FEEL, To DO.
We live in a culture that values thinking and doing but falls short when it comes to feeling. We tend to leave out the feeling and do anything to keep it at bay. Rejecting this deep, intimate part of ourselves leads us to over-thinking and over-doing to compensate for avoiding feeling. Feeling is Uncomfortable. However, if we are honest with ourselves, how many of us are truly comfortable in our current life?
Over-thinking often has us in decision fatigue. Can you relate to not wanting to make another decision? Or feeling agitated every time your child asks you something?
Over-doing has us exhausted. Do you feel the urge to look “busy” whenever someone is near? Do you have the feeling of “being in trouble” or feeling “guilty” if you don’t have all those things checked off your to do list by the end of the day or week?
Do you define success in how much you achieve, produce, accomplish or how much you do for others?
On today’s episode we are bridging the gap between thinking and doing and stepping into becoming WHOLE humans. This is where fulfillment is experienced.

#143 Becoming the Parent You Want to BE
Are you the parent you want to be? I was not. There was a time I realized this parenting thing was not what I thought it was going to be. My image of being a parent and actually being a parent did not match up. I swore I was going to do it differently than my parents and in many ways I did but I also unknowingly carried some of the internalized behavior patterns into my own parenting journey. These patterns (like yelling) were not helpful in establishing a safe, trusting relationship with my children.
So, I had to do the work to consciously BECOME the parent I wanted to be. In today’s episode we’ll discuss how to become the parent YOU want to be.

141. The Fantasy of Should, Shouldn't and Supposed To
On today’s episode we separate fantasy from reality. “Should” “Shouldn’t” and “Supposed to” put you in a position of powerlessness. It puts you in the victim role and creates drama. Do these sound familiar?
“I should go to the gym.”
“You shouldn’t do that.”
“I shouldn’t have done that.”
“You should know better.”
“What am I supposed to do?”
We often “should” on ourselves and our children. Today, I want to empower you to reframe this fantasy and put what you want into reality. This reframe will also help you to support your children rather than judge them.
