We discuss that game and plenty more on episode 130. Also, we would be remise not analyze the disfunction that is Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos.
129 - The Rare Triple Crossfire
For the first time, in over 4 years of podcasting, we have our first triple crossfire pick. Stay tuned to see which game generated all that action. Giants are 3-1, Broncos are in primetime again (we don't know why) and the Pats are 1-3 for the first time every under Bill Belichick. How is Hews holding up? We have a mini Dr. Melfi session to start the show off.
128 - Wonky Week 4 Lines
Caz and Hews run a two man weave looking back at Week 3 and then making our picks for week 4. Tough losses for the Giants and Patriots, which we discuss and then we discuss a STRANGE Bronco's win and ask if they can eventually right this ship. Dolphins and Bengals kick off Thursday nigtht and that is just one of a handful of wonky lines that we breakdown.
127 - Are the Giants Back?
Week 3 of the NFL Season is upon us and Ryan has to ask...are the Giants all the way back? They have a massive Monday Night matchup against the hated Cowboys who are without their star QB. Can the Giants get to 3-0? Plus Hews and Coulter break down all the action including the Thursday Night game between the Browns and Steelers. We also give out some sneaky picks and a new segment? All that and more on episode 127.
126 - Week 2 of the NFL Season
For the first time in 6 years, the Giants have won their week 1 game and it's also the first time in the last 4 years that the Giants have been over .500 at any point of the season. So Ryan is optimistic while Coulter and Hews bring him back to earth. We make our week 2 picks while also breaking down some of the bonehead decisions that we saw in Week 1

Mr. Model, Hews and Caz make their picks for the weekend, with a little college basketball talk sprinkled in as well
123 - Did someone say "Calcutta"?
With the NFL playoffs starting this weekend, the boys dip their toes into some new gambling waters as they conduct their first calcutta auction. Ryan, Coulter, Hews and Aaron bid on NFL teams based on a set of rules and payouts. 80% of the payout is allocated to teams based on winning playoff games and the other 20% is based on props. Did Hews jump all over the New England Patriots? Did Aaron overpay on a team? Does Ryan go full Constanza mode? You'll have to listen to find out.
122 - CFB Natty + Week 18
The College Football National Championship is upon us and we got a rematch between Georgia and Alabama. However, we here at DDT think the line is wonky as Georgia is 3 point favorite. Then we turn to Week 18 in the NFL season where there are alot of garbage games, a few important ones, and a ton of crazy line movement. Can Hews hang on to win our pool?
121 - Big Favorites, Lay the Points

We've got plenty of crossfire picks and lots of action this week
119 - Week 11 Picks, Georgia v Michigan?
Caz and Hews discuss a potential first round matchup of the #1 Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines. Caz doesn't see how Michigan can score on Georgia, and Hews wonders how Stetson Bennett can pass the ball on Michigan. Then we turn to Week 11 in the NFL where our Insider Coulter makes history, picking a team for his key pick that has never been selected in the 3 years of this podcast.
118 - Backup QBs Rise Up
It was QUITE a week in the NFL as we look back on week 8 in which the Jets shocked the Bengals, Geno Smith was the highest rated QB and Trevor Siemian and the Saints beat Tom Brady and the Bucs. The more you know about gambling in the NFL, the less you know. We're on to Week 9 where Hews has a bold strategy.
117 - Crossfires Galore and Cover Joe
Week 8 in the NFL brings some intriguing matchups including the Thursday matchup between the Packers and the Cardinals. Aaron Rodgers has a chance to show the league he is still the top dog in the NFC. Today's episode is brought to you by Rhoback where you can use the promo code CAZ15 at checkout for 15% off your first purchase.
114 - Week 5 Picks, NY Football is BACK
Caz and Coulter run a little give and go offense as they break down the week 5 picks. Caz is VERY close to going full Costanza mode and making opposite picks. The Giants and the Jets get their first wins, Matt Nagy turned over the play calling and what do you know, the Bears won a game. Key picks, crossfires and more.
113 - NFL Week 4, Giants Suck and Brady v Belichick
Surprise surprise, the Giants suck again. Another season another 0-3 start. We have an early season Dr. Melfi session for Ryan and the Giants. The Broncos are 3-0 and look poised to challenge the Chiefs. Plus, arguably the most fascinating regular season game of all time as Tom Brady returns to Foxboro to face the Patriots. Bill Hews weighs in on the game and whether or not you should bet it.
112 - NFL Week 3 Picks
Aaron, Coulter and Hews digest the NFL week 2 games focusing on those pesky Las Vegas Raiders and the surprising performance of their quarterback Derek Carr. Come for the (over)reactions, and stay for the Week 2 picks.
110 - NFL Week 1 Picks
It's a Football Friday, and the first one of the 2021 season. We saw Tom Brady continue to prove that time is a flat circle, with a fantastic opening Thursday Night game. You are going to be very surprised by the teams we pick this week. As Hews says, the value is in the crumbs. Plus, our first Crossfire bet of the year!
109 - Every Team's Playoff Odds
We look at all 32 teams and breakdown their chances to make the playoffs. Of course the Chiefs and Bucs will make the playoffs, but are their odds so juiced that it's not worth betting? We also identify a lot of bubble teams with plus value to sprinkle a "box of ziti" bet on. Plus, our first crossfire bet of the season regarding the Broncos and Patriots.
108 - NFL Future Bets Part 2
Offensive Player of the Year, MVP, Coach of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year. The big boy awards. We give out key tips to remember, such as the MVP award is a QB award, however, there is value in Offensive Player of the Year. You also could consider "double-dipping" if you think the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year will be a QB. Lots to cover, lots of winners given out as well.
107 - NFL Future Bets Part 1
The 2021 NFL Season is rapidly approaching and as such, we are taking a look at some future bets that look appealing. Ryan, Coulter and Hews are breaking down Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, as well as Defensive Player of the year awards. WIll one of the Rookie QBs take this award home, or is there a sleeper you should put a box of ziti bet on?
106 - Broncos Draft Preview and Draft Bets
105 - NY Giants Draft with Tova
Recurring guest Tova joins the show to discuss the New York Giants as we approach the NFL Draft. How does she rank the Giants needs? Should the Giants be targeting a wide receiver or do they sure up their offensive line? We also discuss their off-season acquisitions and for the first time in a long time there is optimism heading into the season.
104 - NFL Draft with Gordon McKiper
The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching and we welcome on our very own draft expert Gordon, to break down some of the biggest storylines. Trevor Lawrence seems to be the #1 pick, but Gordon breaks down the other big 4 quarterbacks and lets us know who he likes the most out after Lawrence. We talk needs to the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns as well as a good discussion on value picks, especially for a loaded wide receiver class.
103 - Final Four
Gonzaga vs UCLA, Baylor vs Houston. We are breaking down both of these games, giving out line picks, potential ML winners as well as breaking down the over/unders. If you like Houston to pull the upset, we've got some creative bets you can put down to maximize your returns. Spoiler alert, Ryan is all aboard the Gonzaga train (take that information however you feel).
102 - Welcome to the Sweet 16
It turns out the Big10 was not as good as we all thought they were. Ohio State lost to a 15 seed in the first round and then #1 seed Illinois went down to Sister Jean and Loyola Chicago. With only 1 team left (Michigan) the Big10 vs the field bet does not look great. We also preview the Sweet 16 games and throw out some spread and moneyline picks to consider. Spoiler alert there are a couple of picks we like BOTH ways.
101 - March Madness is here
Aaron and Coulter break down the brackets. They start with their general bracket reactions, before moving on to a couple teams that might surprise you. They conclude with their final four and champion picks.
100 - Conference Tourney Time
The calendar has turned to March and that can only mean one thing...College Basketball. Mr. Model gives us an in-depth performance review of his College Basketball Model (spoiler alert: he did very well). He let's us know the strategy behind his bets and also previews how you can find value during the conference tournaments that you can also use while filling out your bracket. Then we end the episode with a little NFL talk as the league year gets close to beginning.
099 - Super Bowl 55
The big game is finally here and we breaking down every angle. Ryan, Coulter and Hews make their official picks. Who is riding with the Chiefs (-3) to start an official dynasty, and who thinks Brady gets ring #7 as the Bucs cover (+3). We also talk Over/Under of 56 and a bunch of different prop bets that provide some good value.
098 - Questionable Coaching Decisions
The theme of this week's episode is...what were they thinking? We're looking at you Matt LaFleur and Sean McDermott. Matt LaFleur made the worst decision of the weekend, when down by 8 with 2:10 left in the game, they decided to kick a field goal and give the ball back to Tom Brady. Spoiler alert, they lost. Then McDermott and the Bills decided to play conservatively and kick a field goal not once but TWICE down by 12 points to the Chiefs. We discuss these decisions and then do a little preview of some prop bets and picks for the Super Bowl
097 - Rodgers vs Brady, Mahomes vs Allen
Its Conference Championship weekend and you could not ask for better QB matchups for these games. You've got the old legends in Rodgers and Brady, going for another Super Bowl, and then you've got the young stars in Mahomes and Allen. We make our picks for both games and also discuss what we think makes the most intriguing Super Bowl matchup. Plus, Hews gets a chance to reflect on the greatness that is Tom Brady
096 - Divisional Round
We've got some great games this weekend including the Ravens vs Bills and the Saints vs the Bucs. Ryan, Aaron, Coulter and Hews make their picks for who they think will advance. We also update the standings of our Playoff Challenge and discuss a WILD parlay play that Ryan put down.
095 - Wildcard Weekend
WIldcard weekend is upon us and the NFL has so graciously added two more playoff games to the schedule. There are some great matchups including a rematch of last year's playoff game between the Ravens and the Titans. Can Lamar Jackson win his first playoff game? We break down all 6 games and make our picks, which includes a very rare 3 person crossfire bet.
094 - Week 17 Playoff Picture
The NFL regular season comes to end this week but there are plenty of teams still alive. Somehow, a 10 win or possibly an 11 win team in the AFC will miss the playoffs, while a 6 win or 7 win NFC team will make the playoffs. Week 17 is a minefield for gamblers as lines may change based on teams resting players or trying to get hot and take momentum into the playoffs. We break down all the action with some winners to get you into the postseason
093 - Upset City: Population Jets, Bengals
092 - State of the NY Giants
It's been an up and (mostly) down season for the Giants, so we welcome Giants fan Tova onto the show to break down the season. We discuss if Joe Judge appears to be the coach we needed, should Dave Gettleman get fired and will this team make the playoffs? Tova has built up a nice twitter following and she is a must follow for any Giants fan. If you're not a Giants fan...you should still listen and follow here for insightful NFL commentary.
091 - Browns, Ravens and the Return of Saturday Football
Week 14 concluded with perhaps the best game of the year as the Ravens beat the Browns in a wild shootout. The ending produced the worst bad beat for any gambler holding a Browns +3 or +3.5 ticket. We break that game down and discuss Lamar Jackson's "cramps" (4:00). Three of the four NFC East teams won last week, putting the Football Team in the drivers seat (16:52). Ryan, Coulter and Hews make their Week 15 picks that feature a few crossfire action picks (31:30). And we end the episode with College Football talk featuring the marquee rematch of Clemson vs Notre Dame (1:19:29).
090 - The Model's Finest Hour
The Model comes into week 14 with some of the boldest, gutsiest picks that I have ever seen in my gambling career. But first, we recap Week 13 and discuss Carson Wentz and the mess in Philly (9:01). Then Ryan reflects on the huge upset that the Giants pulled over the Seahawks and where they go from here (20:40). Then we make our Week 14 picks that resulted in 5 Crossfire picks (41:32) in one of the best back-and-forth picks segment we have ever had. We finish the episode with the Model's NCAA basketball picks, including a few diamond in the rough teams (1:29:50)
089 - Goodbye Matt Patricia
As predicted last week, a Lion's loss on Thanksgiving was the end of the Matt Patricia era in Detroit. Can the Lions follow in the footsteps of the Texans and Falcons and notch a win and cover the week after firing their coach? We discuss that and much more, including the biggest coaching mismatch maybe ever as Anthony Lynn and the Chargers host Bill Belichick and the Patriots. Plus update odds to win the NFC East. Can the Giants win without Daniel Jones?
088 - Thanksgiving Football
Aaron, Ryan and Coulter break down the three games on Thanksgiving (EDITOR'S NOTE: We recorded prior to the postponement of the Steelers/Ravens game). Should you take the tradition and pick the Lions and Cowboys? Ryan has entered full Costanza mode when making picks. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
087 - Two Gambling Anomalies
Nick Chubb and the Browns cost many gamblings, including Ryan, some cash by stepping out of bounds at the 1 yard line. Then we saw another wild gambling play after Kyler Murray hit DeAndre Hopkins on a hail mary as they opted to not kick the extra point in a 2 point game (the spread was 2.5). We discuss those plays and see if we agree with the decisions. Then we talk about Coach of the Year odds as Mike Tomlin is the odds on favorite. We provide our thoughts as well as some value plays. Then we make our week 11 picks, and of course, we have some crossfire action.
086 - NFL and Masters, A Dream Come True
Truly one of the most unique sports weekends ever, we are discussing Week 10 of the NFL as well as the 2020 Masters. We break down some of the best games from Week 9 and review all the Crossfire action. We have WINNERS for Week 10, and then discuss which golfers and what odds we like them at to win the Masters. This weekend is truly the dream for sports fans.
085 - Kyler vs Tua and Week 9 Picks
Week 8 was an absolute bloodbath for Double Down Trent picks as we went a combined 1-7. As a famous coach in New England would say "we're on to Week 9". We welcome our insider Coulter and our Patriots correspondent Hews on to make amends and throw out some winners for the listeners. The Man vs Model challenge is heating up as well.
084 - State of the Patriots
Double Down Trent welcomes our resident New England Patriot expert Will Hews to discuss the state of the franchise after two bad home losses in a row. What would this team look like if Brady was still in a Pats uniform? And Hews provides an honest assessment of the future of the team. We have plenty of picks on the docket, including a rare NCAA parlay at the end of the episode
083 - Best of Times, Worst of Times
Week 6 was truly the best of time and the worst of times. The best looks like the Steelers, Chiefs and Titans while the worst is the entire NFC East. Ryan, Aaron and Coulter break down the action as well as make their picks for week 7. Mr. Model aka Aaron has some beef with our new betting segment "Crossfire" and our Insider Coulter has a Game of Thrones "Shame" moment. Oh and by the way, we are 9-3 ATS the past two weeks.
082 - Trading Places Segment, Crossfire Bets and NFL Week 6
Dan Quinn has joined Bill O'Brien on the unemployment line and somehow Adam Gase still has a job. We have a brand new segment "Crossfire Bet" where we take a page from the classic movie Trading Places. Collectively, we went 5-1 on our picks last week so we are HOT. You do not want to miss the second half of our show where we give you our Week 6 picks and "Crossfire Bet" gets absolutely ELECTRIC!
081 - Bill O'Brien is Fired plus Week 5 Picks
Double Down Trent has been calling for Bill O'Brien to be fired for years, and it finally happened. Will the Texans benefit from a reinvigorated locker room? Stay tuned for our thoughts. Then we have a new segment the "Omar Little Lesson Here" where Aaron, Ryan and Coulter give the listeners a lesson that they have learned so far and how you can apply it to your picks. The Man vs Model challenge is hot so go to www.doubledowntrent.com to play along
