Doug Powhida: you decide what is true and what is really true
See you Saturday!
Special thanks to John Acton.
No Betsy Wetsy dolls were harmed in the recording of this interview.
Principal William Hughes: still a big fan of the LHS Class of 1988
Mary Beth Tipton said it was a privilege to interview our LHS Principal, Mr. Hughes. Some fun facts from the interview:
Mr. Hughes, at 80 years old, is healthy and happy living in South Carolina. He spent 59 years in education, and has been married to Jean for 56 years. He played 3 sports in high school including 4 years on the golf team, and he raced dirt bikes.
Mr. Hughes shared what was most rewarding and challenging about being our principal, what was most important to him as our principal, something memorable and one big stand out from our class.
One thing Mary Beth remembers about him as our principal was he presence-he was EVERYWHERE. He was at every game and every event, supporting and encouraging all of us, and he knew everyone of us by name.
Mary Beth want to add, "Personally, Mr. Hughes had a big impact on my developmental life as a teenager and a young mother, and still today I call him “dad.” We both ended the interview in tears after he shared his final wishes for the LHS Class of 1988!"

Jared Jones: You might know him as JJ, Jonsey, or J-Rod, but to the people that care about him the most, he's known as Jared, Coach Jones, or dad.
In our 20th episode, we chat with Jared Jones, and his memories of Tallmadge, Stanbery, The Mr. Zogg's Sex Wax incident of 1995, what happens when one finally applies themselves, and being a father and a coach. And about his favorite sports team, Michigan State. (It's actually The University of Michigan, but I knew that would drive him absolutely crazy.)
