This week we discuss a widely debated topic which is whether or not American's are eating adequate protein. This is based on the current Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) which is defined as the average daily dietary intake level that is sufficient to meet the nutrient requirement of nearly 97% of healthy individuals in a particular life-stage and gender group.

We make the case as to why American's aren't eating adequate protein based on the available evidence including NHANES data on how much protein America is actually eating and literature that may suggest the RDA needs to change.
