Adam Wood is the Lead Pastor of The Neighborhood Church in Garland, TX - a church that is following Jesus together and hoping to live up to its name. Adam also serves as the Director of an ecumenical Christian Community Center in this same socially and ethnically diverse neighborhood. Born and raised in the Dallas area, Adam is passionate about the Dallas Mavericks, his wife, and two daughters (but not in that order).

His passion is to help churches and ministry organizations work smarter. Matt currently lives in central Washington with his wife, Courtney, and their two children. Matt holds a BA in Religious Studies from Florida State University and a MA in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Special Edition- Carolyn Moore: Shaping a Congregation’s Confidence in the Church Christ Founded
CAROLYN MOORE
Carolyn Moore is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. She was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and is a graduate of UGA (B.A. 1985) and Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1998; D.Min. 2018). After graduation from seminary, Carolyn served for five years as an associate pastor at Athens First United Methodist church (Athens, Georgia). In June of 2003, she was appointed home again to the Augusta area, where she and her family were given the joy of birthing Mosaic United Methodist Church. Carolyn and her family still serve Mosaic today. This community has her heart. As a preacher, Carolyn’s passion is helping people respond to the good news of Jesus. Seeing broken people healed and lost people saved is such a joy. As is her life as a mother, wife, writer, preacher and church planter.

S2Ep11- Kris Beckert
Kris Beckert is a scientist turned pastor. She currently serves as the pastor of innovation and multiplication at Salem Fields Community Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Kris is ordained in the Church of the Nazarene and has an MDiv from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. Besides making disciples and creating a vision of a church that's real and relevant, she also works with Fresh Expressions US and runs everything from 5Ks to ultramarathons.

S2ep10- Todd Hiestand
Todd Hiestand is one of the Godfathers of the Ecclesia Network. He was the pastor of Ecclesia Church The Well, outside of Philadelphia for 14 years before handing it off and moving to Portland, OR- Well, technically, Clackamas, OR. He and his wife Melanie parent four boys, six goats, three dogs, two chickens (update: the chickens have been eaten by coyotes) and he serves as an elder and on the teaching team at Theophilus Church in Portland. Todd currently helps nonprofits navigate storytelling, fundraising and technology at 343 Consulting.
We talk about the origins of the Ecclesia Network, Todd’s church planting journey, the difficulties of bi-vocational ministry, the impact of stepping away and life after pastoring.

Robbie and Kristal Poff together lead worship at Ecclesia church NLCF at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Kristal has been a part of the NLCF equipping team since 2008, and Robbie since 2011.
Together, they not only lead worship, but help guide the church as a whole, teach and disciple others, and do their best to put up with Jim Pace,.
I got a chance to talk to them recently about ministry to millennials and Gen Z, how worship has changed over the past decade or so, and so much more. We even get into the "Sloppy Wet Kiss Controversy"!

Doug Moister serves as the lead pastor at the Renew Community, in Lansdale PA. He leads the Elder team, the House Church Shepherds, casts vision, shepherds people, and cultivates a culture of kingdom risks. Besides his pastoral and preaching duties with Renew, Doug considers himself a life long learner and a church history nerd. He’s a coach in the community, and an enthusiastic fly fisherman.Doug is finishing up his Doctoral program at Portland Seminary, and doing his doctoral thesis on Zombies- how could we not talk about that???
S2Ep6: Jessica Ubel
One of the newest churches in our network is All Things New in Eugene, OR. After spending 18 years in ministry together in larger churches, Justin & Jessica Ubel planted All Things New Church one year ago. Jessica Ubel, along with Amy Hyatt, leads an Ecclesia Leaders Circle for the spouses of church planters. Besides being Justin's partner in church planting, Jessica works for Haiti nonprofit Chances for Children, teaches classes at the local Y, and spends time loving her three children. She is an Enneagram 7, couldn't live without chocolate, loves mystery novels, and enjoys traveling.
I recently had a chance to talk to Jessica about church planting, about the weird and wild town of Eugene Oregon, and about the joys and challenges of being the spouse of a church planter.

Lead Pastor The District Church
Aaron serves as the founder and lead pastor of The District Church. He leads the Columbia Heights parish as well as the church organizationally. Aaron has a heart for church planting, leadership development, and urban ministry. He is the co-founder of DC127 and serves as the board chair. Before moving to the District, Aaron started Quincy Street Missional Church in a low-income neighborhood of Boston where he served for five years. He received his bachelor's from the University of Richmond, master's at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and his doctorate at Fuller Theological Seminary. Aaron loves to be outdoors, to play basketball, to travel, and to cheer for DC sports teams. He lives in Columbia Heights with his wife Amy and their two children, Elijah and Natalie.

James Bryan Smith is a theology professor at Friends University in Wichita, KS and a writer and speaker in the area of Christian spiritual formation. He also serves as the director of the Christian Spiritual Formation Institute at Friends University. A founding member of Richard J. Foster’s spiritual renewal ministry, Renovaré, Smith is an ordained United Methodist Church minister and has served in various capacities in local churches. Smith is also the author of A Spiritual Formation Workbook, Devotional Classics, Embracing the Love of God, Rich Mullins: An Arrow Pointing to Heaven and Room of Marvels.
He spoke at our 2016 Ecclesia National Gathering.
