Marius Dan on Romania's experience listing state-controlled ventures

The Romanian government established a closed-ended investment fund, Fondul Proprietatea, in 2005 to take over and manage the assets of expropriated state-owned enterprises. Fondul Proprietatea's objective is to maximize shareholder returns. In an interview with Echelon's Shamindra Kulamannage, Marius Dan, from Fondul Proprietatea discusses Romania's experience with the investment fund, how success is measured and what Sri Lanka can learn from the experience. U.S based investment firm Franklin Templeton's won a mandate as investment manager of Fondul Proprietatea in 2010. Marius Dan is part of Franklin Templeton's team of asset managers of Fondul Proprietatea.
