When Everything Disappeared Twice (Live in the Studio Version)
This episode of Elliott's Podcast showcases my new tune When Everything Disappeared Twice which you can listen to on all streaming services. Spotify link is here.
The Gift
This episode talks about my mission to help share the gift of both playing music for you, and to tap into the infinite power required for you to do this on your own. The power is available to everyone who chooses to accept it and take it on. Wishing you the happiest holidays today.
The Two Channels of Consciousness + Ambient Rhodes Piece
This week's episode of Elliott's Podcast talks about the two channels of consciousness which are derived from Ram Das. Moving to channel two is a tool for removing fear, doubt and worry from your daily internal dialogue.
The episode ends with a relaxing piece on the Rhodes that dances around the pentatonic scale.
Read the piece by Ram Das here.
The Trey Anastasio Method for Inspired Play
In this week's episode of Elliott's Podcast, I talk about encouraging a sense of play with music and how that might be different from our traditional ideas about practice.
I also show a great holiday gift for guitarists to play in the morning, the Mustang Micro, as well as the iReal Pro app for generating backing tracks to play along to.
The song I played along to was called Thursday Night, Friday Morning by IKSRE and Party Store: https://iksre.bandcamp.com/album/northwest-southeast

The Enormity of Nature (Just Sit in the Park)
Sitting in a park is an underrated habit. Better if you can go by yourself, and top marks if you go to one that is outside of your neighbourhood. Just look on the map and get out there. Your time in the park is the perfect antidote to the stress of living in the city.
Begin With Where You Are

The Mindset of a Songwriter: Matt James in Joseph Workman Park in Toronto
It was great to connect with my old friend Matt James at Joseph Workman Park, as part of the music in parks series on Elliott's Podcast.
Inside you can expect to learn about some different strategies that a songwriter like Matt might employ to work through ideas.
How to structure a music practice session and plenty of other tips about the creative process.
And there are two short performances to boot.

Sleep Tea Ritual and Fake Spotify Artists at Bedtime
Lots to go over, being in my old bedroom at night time inspired me to discuss some sleepy time rituals around going to bed early. If you have serious sleep issues you can learn more about my friend Talia Shapero's work as mentioned in this episode
Harnessing a Sense of Surrender
The idea that naturally came about this week is to continue writing a piece of music for another lake that I visited on this month’s hiking trip. We stayed on three lakes, so this week I wrote a piece called Harness and paired it with the video from that one.

Music Mix: Pathways into the Park (July/August Mix)
Leading up to doing this mix I had been thinking about how a musician can push themselves so hard to always be creating new work, but if they (I) just stopped for a minute to appreciate all the work that had been done up until now, one would be in a much better place.
So this mix compiles a bit of music from Elliott's Podcast lately, and superimposes some of my studio work from around 2020-21. Patrons get a version that has no talking at the front of it - patreon.com/fienberg. Thanks for listening!
Alchemizing Fear into Creativity
This show is about taking your darkest emotions and using them as fuel for your greatest work. There is a short segment on sleep which is a big theme in Elliott's work. We finish up with a short blues jam called, "I Didn't Know".

Elliott Plays in Bickford Park (Toronto)
Bickford Park is a park in a neighbourhood of the same name but it's not far from Koreatown and Little Italy. The park is popular for sports as there's a long field for soccer, as well as a baseball diamond and a dog park. Finally, there is a washroom which is of similar quality to many of the other park washrooms in Toronto.
I didn't have time to check it on this outing to see how the soap, hand sanitizer and paper towel situation is these days.

The Waves of Infinity (Electric Piano and Pedal Steel Guitar Ambient)
There is no talking in this video but I was lucky to catch some waves on the dock at my friend's cottage this past weekend over on Lake Simcoe in Ontario.
Day to day we have things that disrupt and interrupt us but our ability to find some calm and a sense of presence will always renew itself like the waves of infinity.
