Just Like Magick

It's #nationalpodcastday, which makes today the perfect time to recap season one and cue up season two of Just Like Magick! Thirteen phenomenal women shared their magickal moments with me to create these stirring, inspiring, sometimes provocative, always entertaining episodes for season one of the show. The threads of my signature question, "what is magick and how does it work?" are woven throughout these conversations. It was fascinating for me as a host to see the similarities and differences in my guest's answers. I highlight my favorite moments from season one and give you a preview of where the questions will lead us in season two.

This week's episode explores the subject of spirituality with guest Fenesa Dilworth. Listeners will be treated to several stories of magickal moments shared by host Erin Duffy Osswald and Fenesa both. The universe has a playful (and quite literal) side to it, as the tales they share illustrate. Fenesa's journey has been one of deep faith in her angels and guides to lead the way. She's bravely followed the path that SPIRIT has opened for her, and she's reaped many beautiful rewards in the process. Her unwavering connection to divinity is truly inspiring, and she is a gentle yet powerful leader who leaves a trail of beauty behind her wherever she goes!

Join me for a lovely conversation with guest Charissa Crayton on the subject of sacred, empowered, embodiment! I was so intrigued to learn how Charissa works with Tarot to inform her embodiment practice and how this in turn has shaped her approach to teaching self-defense. This hour-long conversation includes a delightful story of how literal manifestations can sometimes be. Charissa shares how plant allies helped Charissa heal her relationship to her body and how this coincided with a very specific allergy lifting as suddenly as it had appeared decades earlier. The listener will gain much insight about what standing one's sacred space is, and how to practice embodiment with it, as well.  

Charissa is a multifaceted practitioner and strives to walk the path of embodiment everyday. Her offerings range from Empowerment Self-Defense for womxn and girls, Tarot card readings and circles, and ecstatic dance gatherings. She feels guided to walk the path of empowerment to show other women what they are capable of and to guide them to the powerful tools they each innately possess. Charissa believes that the magic and power of the feminine lies in transcending the mundane and living a life of vibrancy and power in order to uplift other womxn and all of humanity.

This week's conversation is a very, very special one. It's near and dear to my heart, and it will sound more like two friends having a lively and informative and flowing conversation, and that is because it is! Heather Dakota and I met about eight years ago in our teacher, teacher, Pixie Lighthorse's school, SoulLodge. We started out taking the rudimentary courses and ultimately found ourselves in the narrow and deep study of Earth medicine together in SoulLodge Earth Medicine School for four years. I have also had the pleasure of sitting in Heather's circles and containers myself and benefited from so much of her wisdom. I am excited to share this conversation with you today because I think that new practitioners, as well as seasoned witches alike, are all going to learn something from this really, really full conversation. She is also the founder of O’actually & The Pleasure Pledge, two ventures honoring female sexual pleasure (and orgasms!) for safety, healing, and empowerment. Marie Claire named Kit an "Amazing Woman" for her work celebrating women's sexuality.

Join Host Erin Duffy Osswald and guest Francine Bonjour-Carter for this flowing conversation that touches upon the weaving of fate, somatic awareness, the interconnectedness of humans, why we sometimes need a "rough spot" and much, much more. Francine shares the tale of how following her passion for movement and embodiment led her across an ocean and into a life blossoming with love. Erin relates these subjects to magick throughout the conversation. Erin shares how one of the passion projects Francine discusses in the podcast has had a profound healing effect on her life.

Annie Cattabriga-Alosa shares several inspiring magickal moments from her spirit led life in this episode. Tune in to hear how a routine errand to repair her seweing machine led her to cross paths with an unlikely messenger whose words granted her clarity she desperately needed at a cross-roads moment in her life. This is one of many anecdotes Annie shares that has your host, Erin Duffy Osswald saying, "Wow!" The two also speak on some interesting similarities they share, as well as a quick dip in the magickal philosophers pool to discuss the difference between ceremony and ritual, and why our magick doesn't manifest sometimes. 

Annie Cattabriga-Alosa is an artist, priestess, teacher, psychic, and twin mama living in Bend, Oregon. As a priestess of the Divine Feminine, Annie acts as a channel between humans and their spirit guides. She tends the threshold between the material world and the realms of soul and spirit, facilitating healing and awakening. She believes we are all innately divine, and helps activate our remembrance. She advocates for our birthrights of intuition, ritual, magic, and ceremony. She has been reading tarot and oracle cards for over twenty years. Annie loves gardening, singing, painting, dancing, and reading. She has a bachelors degree in painting from the University of Illinois.

Through a process of trial and error, she learned to trust her intuition and bravely open her heart to the deep love she desired. I love plants, my guest loves plants, and I love talking about plants with her! In this episode of "Just Like Magick" host, Erin Duffy Osswald talks with Bee Guardian, Ali Pinion, about her path of discovery and self-healing, which led her to a place of deeper understanding through a reunion with the Divine Feminine. The two discuss journey and dream practices with Bee guides, the mysteries of Rose medicine, and the traditions their Irish grandmothers passed down to them. It is a conversation focused on the redemption of finding peace with foundations that initially did not seem to align with their souls but ultimately served as an invaluable ancestral connection. Ali shares her remarkable story with important lessons learned along the way and illustrates how nature holds the key to a fuller understanding of ourselves.

Ali Pinion is a bee guardian who works with her community to nurture a connection to the natural world through encouraging relationships between humans with bees. Through her journey of healing her physical body from autoimmune disease, she has learned how to heal her spiritual body as well through meditation, ritual, ceremony, healing her ancestral lineage, and sexual shame. She has a master’s degree in Health Promotion and is also a women's health and sex educator specializing in releasing sexual shame, and embracing the natural rhythms of the body. In her community, she hosts Red Tents, healing rituals and ceremonies, as well as honeybee rescue, mentorships, education and outreach.
