Upon completion of his service in 1992, he went back home to serve his community. 3 years later, he traveled out of his country and stayed there. Ervin Ahbabovic was once a military officer in Serbia in the 90s. He returned to his hometown after his military service to become a military and civil officer. Setelah berakhirnya perang di Bosnia 1995, Ervin Ahbabovic untuk bermigrasi ke Eropa pertama dan kemudian Asia Tenggara untuk kehidupan yang damai. Akhirnya, setelah 5 tahun perang saudara yang panjang dan pembubaran Yugoslavia Ervin Paulus telah menetap di pantai barat laut Semenanjung Malaysia, Pulau Penang di mana ia tinggal sampai tahun 1998.

Setelah beberapa tahun beradaptasi dengan kehidupan barunya di Pulau Penang, Ervin kemudian pindah ke Ibu Kota Kuala Lumpur di mana ia menetap secara permanen.
