Mijita, you are more than enough + higher ed trends
Hola mi gente, I hope you are doing well this week! Today we are talking about, how important you are as a person. No degree, institution, job title, or anything in between could ever devalue your worth. Yes, you have put in the work and earned many titles for yourself, but they don't overshadow the beauty of your soul, tu alma. We are also going to be discussing the new SAVE Plan, Saving on a Valuable Education — that will keep the monthly student loan payments small (as small as $0) without increasing interest rates. Which of course, will have us talking more about the consequences of student debt for our Latine/x graduates. Remember you got this, I am so proud of you, keep going.

Mijita, We Love Latina Representation
Hola mi gente, I hope you are doing well this week! We have so much to talk about in this episode, starting off with some life updates and finally living ONE of the dreams that younger me, had always envisioned. On another fun note, today July, 12, 2023 marks another HUGE day for Latinas showcasing representation. Mildred García is the first Latina to lead the nation's largest public four-year university system. According to the LA Times "García, who is currently president of the American Assn. of State Colleges and Universities, will become the 11th Chancellor and first Latina to lead the CSU 23-campus system." I appreciate you very much mi gente, and I am happy you are here.

Affirmative Action, Let's Talk About It
Hola mi gente, I hope you are doing well this week! We have so much to talk about, my home office is done and now we talk about a very important topic, the overturn with Affirmative Action by the Supreme Court. As I am sure you can assume, I completely disagree with it. On a lighter note, I have been sharing more resources and scholarships on my socials, which I find very exciting because the more support I can give, through my knowledge, the better. I am so proud of you and keep going.
"Navigating an academic system that was not designed with keeping, us, in mind…
Affirmative Action, has given many underrepresented students, the opportunity to be in spaces, places of knowledge, that could truly make a difference in their lives & future generations.
Now, more than ever, we need your representation. Continue to study, pursue your career goals, open doors for others, and never stop, because we are the change our communities deserve (Estrella Serrato)."

No more machismo or marianismo
Hola mi gente, I hope you are doing well this week! As always we have so much to talk about and you read that title correctly, no more machismo or marianismo. This conversation was inspired by a recent Tik Tok video about Latinas graduating from a university and most of the hate comments were from men. I will also be sharing my life updates, as I always do. I appreciate you being here, abrazos.
