Kevin Anderson Truth about the Climate Crisis, Part 1
Welcome to the Evolution Show!  This is podcast version of the Evolution Show that can be seen here! Today´s guest is someone I´ve been looking forward to have on the show for a long time, Kevin Anderson the internationelly acclaimed climate researcher and speaker that makes sense of the climate crisis with facts and humor. Kevin is very blunt about it, like we need to be if are to have any serious chance of taking control of the potentially existential crisis the climate crisis pose to humanity.   Kevin Anderson is currently professor in climate and energy research at the Tyndall center in Manchester and is also advisor to the UK government on issues related to energy and climate.  In this first part of our conversation we first get to know Kevin Anderson and then brea down some of the biggest challenges when it comes to the climate crisis.   Join us for an important conversation that can take us to the next step, because Kevin Anderson is clear, we still can make this but we need to act now! In part 2 out next Monday, we look at how we can reverse the climate crisis, so don´t miss that!  As always, feel free to keep the conversation going here on the Evolution Show in the comments below and consider subscribing to  Evolution show to see the episodes as soon as they come out! Inspiring perspectives: Adressing Climate change and deteriorating health
Welcome to the Evolution Show! This is the podcast version of the Youtube-show that can be been here!  In this episode we have two very dedicated people from the medical profession in the studio. The medical doctor and researcher Staffan Mårild and Medical Doctor student Ellinor Berg. Both are active members of the Swedish organization "Doctors for the environment" or Läkare för Miljön in Sweden, an organization founded in 1991 working to spread awareness about environmental and health related issues, and more importantly how they are interlinked!    We talk about how deteriorating health and the escalating climate crisis are closely related and why we need to adress them together and understand the big picture to find sustainable solutions.  The focus is a comprehensive report by the Lancet Commission that was published in the Scientific Journal The Lancet in  January and an article Staffan Mårild and Ellinor Berg wrote in Sweden´s biggest newspaper Dagens Nyheter in May. covering the main points in the report and drawing out ideas to move forward.  In part 2 of my conversation with Staffan Mårild and Ellinor Berg here on the Evolution Show, we will cover the carbon emissions from the health sector and what I call the fossil health dilemma, the oil dependance in this huge and growing sector and ideas on how we can make a fossil free transition to the future while still maintaining high health levels and public health service.       As always, feel free to keep the conversation going here on the Evolution Show in the comments below and consider subscribing to the youtube show to see the episodes as soon as they come out.
