Every surrogacy journey is different and exciting in their own ways. This episode highlights one of our incredible two-time surrogates, Lisa and her two very different journeys!
For her first journey, Lisa carried for a lovely gay international couple, during Covid! International arrangements have their own level of complexity, and to have Covid occur during it, Lisa and her international parents adapted and are still close today.
Her second journey was less dramatic without the pandemic as she carried for a wonderful straight domestic couple.
Lisa shares everything about the differences and variety of her journeys, how she explained to her children what surrogacy is, and advice for amazing women interested in becoming surrogates.

Dr. Mark Trolice
Welcome to the Family Source Surrogacy Podcast. In this episode, our host Susan Taylor talks to our friend Dr. Mark Trolice.
Dr. Trolice, is Director of Fertility at CARE: The IVF Center in Winter Park, Florida. He is past President of the Florida Society of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI) and past Division Director of REI at Winnie Palmer Hospital, which is part of Orlando Health.
Dr. Trolice serves on committees for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology as well as the editorial advisory board of Ob.Gyn.News. In early 2019, he launched a podcast entitled The Fertility Health Podcast featuring discussions with national experts on pertinent infertility and reproductive medicine topics and his first book on the infertility journey was published by Harvard Common Press in early 2020.
Susan and Dr. Trolice discuss range of topics including maximizing your time on earth, his decision to become a Reproductive Endocrinologist, his own personal struggles with infertility, his chaotic home life, his singing career, the covid vaccine, and helpful hints for those struggling with starting their own family.
Dr. Said Daneshmand
Welcome to the Family Source Surrogacy Podcast. In this episode, our host Susan Taylor talks to our friend Dr. Said Daneshmand, or as we know him "Dr. D".
Dr. D is an internationally recognized fertility specialist at San Diego Fertility Center with extensive experience in providing third-party reproductive services. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in egg donation and surrogacy and is one of the main providers of third-party care in the United States. He completed his fellowship and residency at UCLA and is specialty board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology. Among his achievements, Dr. Daneshmand is the recipient of numerous awards including the Eileen Pike Medical School Valedictorian Award and the PCRS Fellowship and Practicing Physician Research Award. He has served as the President of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society (Iota Chapter) and is a member of the Decherney Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Dr. Daneshmand speaks fluent French, Spanish, English, and Farsi.
Dr. Melvin Thornton II
Welcome to the Family Source Surrogacy Podcast. In this episode, our host Susan Taylor talks to our friend Dr. Melvin Thornton II. Dr. Melvin H. Thornton II is double board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. He has been helping families in the Tri-state for over 18 years. Dr. Thornton completed his OB/GYN internship and residency as well as his Reproductive Medicine fellowship at the University of Southern California. He received additional training in advanced reproductive surgery at The Cleveland Clinic before joining the faculty at Columbia University. In this episode we thought we would explore some of the medical aspects associated with the new Surrogacy statute in NY state.
