Episode 94 B-Side - ZOMBI - A Very Fat Feminist Halloween Special!
Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends - and thank you for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast for my annual Very Fat Feminist Halloween Special - the b-side! I've got 13 fantastic tracks about african traditional religion, death, ancestors, and of course - zombies.  This year we're not talking specifically about witches, but about magical practitioners whose legends and religious beliefs have contributed to our favourite Halloween Horrors. Though most modern zombie movies fit well into the science fiction genre, at one time they were filled with evil magic performed by "Voodoo witch doctors". Before that, the story and name of the zombi and of raising the dead was a real practice in Haitian Vodou. Lilith Dorsey, author of Voodoo and African Traditional Religion joins me to talk about zombis and zombies, the vodou origins, their hollywood present, and a possible future where the genre can embrace it's magical roots. Visit Voodoo Universe, Lilith's Patheos blog and her website lilithdorsey.com to learn more about her! Hello again witches, seekers, and friends - and thank you for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast for my annual Very Fat Feminist Halloween Special!  Every year at Halloween we examine some of the stories, tropes, and stereotypes that have contributed to the image of the Halloween Witch, the ways we celebrate her and the holiday, and how that image impacts real modern witches. Hello friends! Thank you so much for tuning in today I’m really excited to be back! I’m going to tell you how to diagnose the presence of the evil eye and ways to shake it off, and how to balance the energy of your brow chakra. This episode is called the B-SIDE because it's filled with music breaks featuring songs about eyes, vision, clairvoyance, and some that resonate with the third eye itself. You can find the whole playlist, including songs I didn't end up using, here. These are the songs in the episode in order: Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes The Third Eye - Roy Ayers Ubiquity Third Eye - Florence + The Machine Clearvoyance - Gogol Bordello Electric Indigo - The Paper Kites Circus - Britney Spears #FreeBritney Fade Into You  - Mazzy Star Dance of the Clairvoyants - Pearl Jam Evil Eye - Billy Idol Evil Eye - Franz Ferdinand Woke Up This Morning - Alabama 3 The book referenced with the evil eye cure is Italian Folk Magic by Mary-Grace Fahrun (amazon.com | amazon.ca) You can watch her video demonstrating the cure on her YouTube Channel - link. Episode 90 - Muse-icology RE-RE-RE-REMIX!
Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.
Hello my witchy friends and a blessed Summer Solstice to all! Today's episode is a remix of episode 67 - Muse-icology, all about the magic of music! In that episode I spoke about the witchiest song of all time - I Put a Spell on You by Screamin' J Hawkins - tibetan singing bowls, musical divination and here's the really fun part - the musical notes that resonate with our chakras. In the OG ep I wasn't allowed to include any of the songs I mentioned, but now that I am hosted on Anchor this is possible, as long as you're listening on Spotify (it's free!). Including a few tweeks and updates, this episode now features a song for each chakra going from root to crown, and the song that inspired the episode's title - Musicology by Prince.  If you like the idea of using pop music to work with your chakras, and think these songs are good or even just... interesting, you've gotta see the rest of the playlist. It's truly weird and strangely perfect.  http://bit.ly/chakrakeys Don't like my song choices, but want to make your own chakra keys playlist? COOL. Just go to tunebat.com, and search songs by key! (stick with majors) I'd love to see what you come up with! Pot it on Instagram and tag me @fatfeministwitch or use #chakrakeys. Root - C Sacral - D Solar Plexus - E Heart - F Throat - G Third Eye - A Crown - B I also made a playlist of some of my favourite voodoo-laden tracks by Screamin J when I created this episode, and you can still find that at the following link. http://bit.ly/screaminjvoodoo The article about the origins of singing bowls can be found here – The Star – Tibetan Singing Bowls Aren’t Tibetan, Sincerely, a Tibetan Person Like what you hear on The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast? Hey friends and thank you so much for tuning in to the show! Today’s episode is pumpkin spiced and full of practical magic. I’ll be talking about the magical properties of pumpkins and the spice blend we use to flavour them – ie how magical IS your pumpkin spice latte, really? I’m also talking a bit about Practical Magic! Today’s topic is magical protection – using spells and rituals to protect your body, home, emotions, psychic self, and friends. This is the second episode in my new series of episodes about baneful bitchcraft – curses, hexes, and taboo magic for revenge and destruction. Protection spells aren’t inherently baneful, of course, but many are used in self-defence. It’s also pretty prudent to cast protection spells on yourself before casting curses or as part of a larger ritual. I've also got a review for Miss Aida's new book - Hoodoo Cleansing and Protection Magic!   Thank you to my advertisers for this episode: Better Help - Want to get 10% off your first month of online counselling through Betterhelp? visit http://betterhelp.com/fatfeministwitch and my newest advertiser - Wylde Faun! Episode 77 - Cosmic Conjure
Good evening stargazers and thank you so much for joining me today as we talk about what I call cosmic conjure or star magic. This is a branch of magic that draws energy from celestial sources, follows cosmic or astrological seasons and directives, and features spirits and deities of an extra-terrestrial nature. In this episode I'll teach you how to find a star of power and draw down stellar energy, how to work with the fixed stars of antiquity, and their associated terrestrial material magica, and sharing some some star magic spells and rituals I've created over the years.    Links and Books: Star Magic by Sandra Kynes Earth, Air, Fire, & Water by Scott Cunningham Brady's Book of Fixed Stars by Bernadette Brady https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behenian_fixed_star https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crux https://timenomad.app/documentation/fixed-stars-in-astrological-chart.html https://timenomad.app/posts/astrology/philosophy/2019/05/03/fixed-stars-in-astrology.html https://www.constellationsofwords.com/categories/natalrobson.htm https://thefatfeministwitch.com/2019/03/06/magic-rocks-from-outer-space/ https://thefatfeministwitch.com/2018/10/02/sketchy-herbs-magic-rocks-borage-galaxyite/ https://thefatfeministwitch.com/2017/08/11/30daysmagicalroots-day-11-write-a-spell/ https://milky-way.kiwi/november/te-waka-o-tama-rereti/ https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/skat-radiant-for-delta-aquarid-meteors Calculate Planetary Days/Hours - https://www.lunarium.co.uk/planets/hours.jsp   The Grimoire Journal: A Place to Record Spells, Rituals, Recipes, and More is available RIGHT NOW! >Order Here   My first book - GREEN WITCHCRAFT: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DISCOVERING THE MAGIC OF PLANTS, HERBS, CRYSTALS, AND BEYOND is now on sale! Hey witches and thank you so much for tuning in to my first episode in a series I am calling FFW PADS! All about home magic. So hey fat feminist witches, welcome to my pad! Haha. Episode 68 - Clear Knowing
Hello everyone and thank you for tuning in to episode 68 clear knowing – all about the powers of psychic intuition. This method of experiencing psychic phenomena or receiving spiritual messages involves a sudden and unshakable KNOWING. A claircognizant person will suddenly know the answer to a problem, they’ll just know they have to turn right here even though the directions say go straight, they just KNOW when someone is lying and they know it like they know their own name. It’s not a guess, it’s a clear fact that you cannot disbelieve because everything in you is saying THIS IS IT. Despite the fact that this is probably one of the most common psychic abilities, it’s one we rarely talk about and that can even be pushed aside or considered minor!  the crystals discussed in today's episode can all be found in The Complete Crystal Handbook by Cassandra Eason Want to develop your psychic abilities? check out Develop Your ESP by Nina Ashby   Special thanks to our newest advertiser: Wild Magick. Hello again witches, seekers, and friends, and welcome to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand-waving.  2019 was the year many of us had to start asking ourselves – “are healing crystals the new blood diamonds?” and honestly? Episode 56 - Ma'at and the Weighing of Your Heart
Hey friends and thank you so much for tuning in to episode 56 all about the ancient Egyptian ideals of Ma’at, death rituals, and what happens to our souls in the afterlife. Welcome to October! It’s Halloween season, y’all! Every year in October I pick some element of the archetype of the Halloween witch and talk about how it presents itself in modern witchcraft. This year I went a lil wacky and actually decided to talk about a few things like Death, divination, psychic power and darkness. Today we’re going to start at the end – death.  Specifically, what happened to the soul after it died in the new kingdom of ancient Egypt. This episode was inspired by the Amenti Oracle by Jennifer Sodini and Natalee Miller and Invoke the Goddess by Kala Trobe - both of which are reviewed in the episode! 10 Books That’ll Unlock the Secrets Within Amenti Oracle: Feather Heart Deck and Guidebook   Want to make every day feel like Halloween? Episode 50 - Interview with Fiona Horne!
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends and thanks for tuning in to episode 50 of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast! Today I've got a brand new interview with Fiona Horne, who I chatted with before about her autobiography The Naked Witch. This time we touch on her NEW book The Art of Witch, and her recent tour through Australia performing spoken word from the new book and playing with her 90s electro-rock band DEF FX. Today’s episode is coming out on this very marvellous moon-day because today July 22nd, Fiona’s first-ever oracle deck is being released in the UK and North America! The Magick of You Oracle features art by Marcela Bolivar and was created to help you navigate your own path of self-discovery, especially when that takes you through periods of darkness. Each card also has an accompanying ritual so you can work magic with the aid of the cards.  Get The Magick of You Oracle from Amazon. Just like my previous chat with Fiona, this interview is inspirational, funny, and just so magical. Fiona is a captivating speaker and artist and it’s always a pleasure to have her on the show. Episode 47 - Visualization + Imagination
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends, and welcome to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand-waving. I’m your host, Paige, and together we are going to explore magic and spirituality, social justice, the psychic realm, and most importantly – our imagination. In today’s episode I’m talking about that totally ambiguous, but vitally important word in magical practice – VISUALIZATION. Despite it being a core part of the spell casting,  magic, or manifestation process many of us still struggle to actually do it. Some people just can’t visualize, right? WRONG. Also, just for fun, I thought we’d look at some magic rocks that all come from or connect us to imaginary places that we can use in our very real magical practice. The Book referenced a million times in this episode is Holistic Energy Magic by Tess Whitehurst, which I very highly recommend.  Connect with me! Episode 46 - R.I.P. Jimmy Hoppa
This episode is in memory of Jimmy Hoppa, my lovely rabbit friend who passed away last month. Today, may 9th 2019, would have been his 9th birthday. 9s symbolize completion and endings, but also moving on to bigger and better things. If he's still got lives to live, I hope they're beautiful.  I had originally planned a whole episode about practical magic to do with rabbits or with rabbit energy, but I ended up realizing that's not really what I need. I need to just talk about Jimmy, and how much I loved him and our time together.  So that's what this episode is like. It's not scripted, it's personal, I cry out loud a few times, and I didn't edit anything out or advertise anything.  If you are interested in working magic with your rabbit, or with rabbit energy, I have a really cute episode of Seeker's Corner which actually features Jimmy himself! He's so cute and he bites me and it's hilarious! You can watch it on my facebook page or YouTube channel.  Baby jimmy! Surly! Our last photo together :(     Connect with me! Episode 42 - Star Goddess
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends, and thanks for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast episode 42 STAR GODDESS.  Today I'm finishing up this unofficial astrology series from the last few episodes by talking about the asteroids in astrology. Instead of just throwing astro facts at you, I'm telling the stories of the god and goddesses these celestial bodies are named after!  This guide on the roman-named asteroids allows you to calculate your own sign, and read a little bit about what that means. Always Astrology I've also got a whole bunch of magic rocks for you, all of which either come from outer space or can help you connect with the cosmos. You can find info and pictures of all of these on my website - Magic Rocks from Outer Space! The song you heard right before was Lunar Dunes by Spinning Clocks.  I first learned about the Star Goddess in Evolutionary Witchcraft by T. Thorn Coyle, who was trained in the feri tradition. If you want to explore the entire tradition more in-depth I suggest looking for books by Storm Faerywolf like Betwixt and Between, and The Forbidden Mysteries of Faery Witchcraft. This website feritradition.com that he created also fully immerses you in the incredible FERI AESTHETIC. Y'all it's so whimsical.  I used the Mythic Tarot and it's accompanying book to help tell the stories of Chiron (the hierophant), Ceres (the empress), and Athena (justice). Episode 41 - SEXXXTROLOGY
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Hello again witches, seekers, and friends and thank you for tuning in to episode 41 of The Fat Feminist Witch, all about SEXXXTROLOGY. Today I’m talking about some the fun and sexy signs in our birth charts, our houses of sex and romance, and using astrology to highlight some of your most alluring qualities. I’m also going to be raving about the book Sextrology by Starsky + Cox, which is affectionately referred to as THE BIBLE by many astrology fans. This episode was inspired in part by Annabel Gat's piece for Broadly about filtering Bumble matches by zodiac sign.  The Hoodwitch has 3 feature pieces on Erotic Astrology signs including Venus, Mars, and Lilith. Very Fat Feminist Halloween Special vol. 3 #HowRealWitchesDo
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, WITCHES! Thanks for tuning in to this year’s Very Fat Feminist Halloween Special in which we discuss the stereotypes and archetypes associated with witches that always seem to pop up at Halloween. In this episode I talk about the #HowRealWitchesDo: Witchcraft Without a Filter (Updated!) photo challenge and how amazing all of the entries were! It was amazing to see how different every entry from every witch was. How different everyone’s practice is. How many tools witches use, and how those witches who don’t use any tools make magick! I narrow in on 3 witch tools with very ancient roots, and how modern witches use them – cauldrons, brooms, and flying wands. Then we talk about Satanism and the images of the Satanic Witch throughout history – and what satanic witchcraft looks today! We take a look at Anna Biller’s modern cult classic horror film The Love Witch and one of the unfortunate ways it parallels local pagan and occult communities. This part of the episode discusses sexual assault and abuse allegations, and the way those things have surfaced in the magickal communities, unchecked, for a long time. If you want to learn more about this, visit this post by Sarah Anne Lawless, a Canadian witch who has recently broken her silence on the years of sexual assault and abuse she saw or experienced in her local communities. Finally, I read a small excerpt from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic book that influenced the new Netflix tv show. Books mentioned: The Luminous Stone: Lucifer in Western Esotericism by Michael Howard The Devil’s Dozen: Thirteen Craft Rites of The Old One by Gemma Gary The Satanic Witch by Anton LaVey The Witch’s Broom by Deborah Blake The Witch’s Cauldron by Laura Tempest Zakroff The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa   Connect with me! Episode 36 - Grounded in Reality #HowRealWitchesDo
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends, and thank for tuning in to episode 36 of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand-waving. Today's episode, Grounded in Reality is all about the instagram witch, ways that science and magic can and do come together, and how to inject your highly witchy spiritual energy into this very logic-driven and tech-based reality. We also consider a very important question - is magick real?   If you want to participate in my Witchcraft Without a Filter challenge check out the details on my website, and then use the hashtag #HowRealWitchesDo to share with other witches.   The book I referenced and quoted in this episode is The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra   Connect with me! Episode 35 - The Magick of Anger
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends and thanks for tuning in to episode 35 of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where we do a little ranting, raving and wand waving. Today's episode is all about everyone's not-so-favourite emotion - ANGER. Where it comes from, why we get angry, and why you shouldn't just banish your anger, but use it as a potent source of magickal power. For example, I am angry at myself for continuously saying this is episode number 34 all the way through this thing, but c'est la vie! Thanks to Cory at New World Witchery for having me on the show! Episode 34 - Witches, Midwives, and Doulas
Hello witches, seekers, and friends! Thanks for tuning in to episode 34 of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand-waving! Today we're talking about a profession and mission that's common in witchy and pagan circles - midwifery, doulas, and birth work. Is Midwifery witchcraft? Why are there so many witchy and pagan doulas? When did that happen? I'll talk a bit about the history of the european witch trials and how many of those persecuted were accused of possessing the power to heal through natural remedies and ... satanic witchcraft? How the rise of Doctors as a profession cost many women healers, and the women who depended on them, their lives and own rights to understand their bodies. I also share stories and experiences from other witchy parents, midwives, and doulas - including yours truly, a former doula. I reference a BUNCH of great sources for you to continue your own research on this topic, including: The Birth House by Ami McKay (and the #WitchyWednesday tag on twitter) Witches Sluts Feminists by Kristen J. Solee Witches, Midwives, and Nurses by Barbara Ehrenreich and Deirdre English The Story of Jane by Laura Kaplan Basic Witches by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman The Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year by Susun Weed Witches: A Century of Murder doc on Netflix (also the Pendle Witch Child on YouTube!) Hello again witches, seekers and friends, and thanks for tning in to episode 33 of the fat feminist witch podcast, the show where I do a little ranting raving and wand waving. I am your host, Paige the fat feminist witch, broadcasting from not so sunny southerwestern ontario, and today we are talking about FATPHOBIA! CONTENT WARNING FOR THIS EPISODE OF THE FAT FEMINIST WITCH: I will be discussing some personal experiences with fatphobia that I've encountered lately, and some of it is upsetting. If you've ever struggled with disordered eating or other issues with weight, food, medical malpractice associated with weight, suicidal ideation, fatphobia, and abuse, this could be a difficult episode for you. Be safe, even if that means not listening. I still love you! This is a very personal episode, and doesn't feature any witchcraft, spells, or spiritual tools. I had originally planned to include a segment about magick for fat people, but have decided to make that a seperate episode. I used a lot of sources for research for this episode, and I totally encourage you all to check them out! Want to learn more about fat positivity as a movement and life philosophy? The websites and activists have all helped me, and offer great explainations about common fat positive terms and ideas. https://danceswithfat.wordpress.com/ - a great blog run by a rad fat athlete!   http://www.themilitantbaker.com/p/resources.html - Jes Baker is phenomenal in general, but this list of sources is totally out of this world!   These are my fave fat positive twitter accounts: https://twitter.com/KivaBay https://twitter.com/yrfatfriend https://twitter.com/Ok2BeFat https://twitter.com/Fattitudemovie   This fantastic article served as inspiration for like, the whole second half of the episode: https://medium.com/@SpaceShuttle/nobody-owes-you-fat-positivity-on-weight-loss-surgery-as-betrayal-cec65d81f1db   What are fatphobia and fatmisia? https://crankyautistic.wordpress.com/2017/06/28/what-is-fatphobiafatmisia/   Have fat-specific health concerns? Episode 30 - #WitchNBitch: Witch, Ya Basic!
Hello again witches, seekers, and friends, and thanks for tuning in to episode 30 of the fat feminist witch podcast! I am your host Paige, The Fat Feminist Witch, and today I'll be talking about Basic Witches, Sluts, Feminists, and people who just straight up hate fun.  This is a witch n bitch episode which means I've also taken a poll from witches online around the world about one of today's topics - do you have to practice magic to be a witch? Today's episode was inspired by the book BASIC WITCHES by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman, which caused a bit of s stir for being a witch book about witchcraft by non witches about something many don't even consider witchcraft. YEAH. I also mention Witches, Sluts Feminists by Kristen J Solee, as another modern witch book that has recently shone a light on the history of witches and witchcraft and what makes someone a witch, whether they want to be or not.    Find out why I gave BASIC WITCHES 🔮🔮🔮🔮/5 here, learn more about and get the book, and even order merch direct from Quirk, the publisher at quirkbooks.com/basicwitches. Episode 29 - Interview with Fiona Horne, The Naked Witch!
Thanks for tuning in to the very first episode of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast for 2018! I am so so excited to be back and even more excited to be talking with today's guest - Fiona Horne. You other 90s and early 2000s wiccans might remember Fiona from her books on witchcraft like WITCH: A MAGICAL JOURNEY (which just got a re-release!) or WITCHIN: A HANDBOOK FOR TEEN WITCHES (my personal fave) or even as the lead singer of electrorock group DEF FX. Whether or not you recognize her name you'll love hearing Fiona's amazing life story both in this interview and more so in The naked Witch, her new autobiography. Resilience and transformation are going to be big themes for me with The Fat Feminist Witch this year,, and Fiona is the perfect person to kick start that as we talk rockstardom, dealing with loss, transformation, and why she is definitely a f%&#ing feminist! 💪👱‍♀️🖕 Find out why I gave The Naked Witch 🔮🔮🔮🔮/5 at http://fatfeministwitch.com/, and Goodreads.com and connect with Fiona at http://fionahorne.com/ Connect with me! Episode 22 - #WitchNBitch: How White Witches Talk About Black Magick
Thanks for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast! Today I'm talking about how out-dated and racially insensitive some of the common language of witchcraft and paganism can be - especially when witches who are white talk about the magickal traditions of witches who are black. This is a special new kind of episode on the show called a #WitchNBitch episode - that means I scoured the internet (not really) for the wonderful opinions of smart witches who might be better equipped to talk about how some racist terms and language makes them feel. This is a topic I broached a whopping 3 TIMES on the blog, and you can check them out here: #WitchNBitch Topic: Plantation Magic Book Review of Shadows: The Witch's Guide to Wands by Gypsey Elaine Teague #WitchNBitch Responses: Plantation Magic   I also talk about my new membership program which you can learn about at Patreon.com/thefatfeministwitch   The Blog: http://thefatfeministwitch.wordpress.com Facebook: The Fat Feminist Witch Twitter: @fatfemnistwitch Instagram: FatFeministWitch Pinterest: FatFemnistWitch As always the opening and closing track is Back To The 90s (Douglas Mulvey AKA D-REX) / CC BY 4.0

Episode 20 - Interview with Lilith Dorsey
Thanks for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Pdcast, the show that examines witchcraft and spirituality from a modern, activist lens. Today I'm talking with Lilith Dorsey, voodoo priestess and magickal consultant, about her new book Love Magic, which was published by Weiser Books last year. Lilith and I discuss common issues with love magic as well as some of the great things about it, a few of the requests she's had for love magic from clients, the music of love and magick, and how white practitioners and witches can approach african diaspora spiritualities with a little more reverence and respect. This book received a 5 crystal ball rating out of 5 for it's fun and totally non-judgemental tone, and the sheer volume of useful information. Even I, a celeibate person, found tons of spells and recipes and potions that could help me out. You can read the Book Review of Shadows HERE on the blog at thefatfeministwitch.com It also helps to leave reviews and ratings! You can leave reviews on my Facebook Page or through iTunes - this will help the show reach more people! Episode 19 - Interview with Natalie Zaman
Thanks for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Podcast, today I'm doing my ranting, raving, and wand-waving with Natalie Zaman, author of Magical Destinations of the Northeast: Sacred Sites, Occult Oddities, and Magical Monuments! We talk about her book and how she chose some of the sites, her first experiences with magical destinations in her home state of New Jersey, being a responsible magical traveler, graveyard souvenirs, magical colouring books and not one, but TWO old episodes of the Simpsons. Even though I know you're a superfan and you already listened to my review of the book right here on the show (ahem), you should still head to the blog and read the Book Review of Shadows, so you can see why it earned it's 5 Crystal Ball rating. Check out some of the other books and artists mentioned in the show: Stories in Stone: The Complete Guide to Cemetery Symbolism by Douglas Keister Gravestone Artwear - for more info on grave rubbing   The Simpsons episodes Mr Lisa Goes to Washington from Season 3 (1991) and El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer from Season 8 (1997). They're both excellent. Of course you should visit the author themself, Natalie Zaman, at nataliezaman.com, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads. Episode 17: Goodbye, 2016! Hello, Understanding!
Thank you for tuning in to this special New Year's Eve episode of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, the show where I do a little ranting, raving and wand-waving. Today I'm waving my wand in a disapproving tone at ableism in the metaphysical community, and 2016 in general. I talk about "chronic positivity" and it's negative impact on mental illness, and how the stigma of actually feeling anything less than positive is keeping sick people sicker. I also correct some of the mistakes I've made this year, and pledge to move into 2017 with more understanding. I also review the Coloring Book of Shadows, a magically minded coloring book y'all can use to practice mindfulness in 2017 and you can read the full review on the blog: here. The apps for meditation and mindfulness are all iPhone apps, sorry android users!, but you can find them here: Pacifica, which has a nice beach scene on the main screen, syncs with Apple Health, features free meditations and ones you can buy, and offers journaling, goal setting, and habit forming promps. Really pretty, and I love the "soundscapes". Zen has guided meditations, lots of cool sounds and asmr and stuff like that, it records your mood and also syncs with apple health. This one has a little less meditations for free, but it also have nice inspirational quotes and stuff. Wildflowers was my favourite during the one week trial of a premium version, as it has the BEST guided meditations. It also logs your heart rate and logs your mood. I loved the meditations, but the free version has way less and it neither sync with apple health. I don't talk about any of the celebrities who've died this year, because that sucks and I don't like it but RIP all you beautiful angels. it's all uphill from here, folks! 2017 awaits!   The Blog: http://thefatfeministwitch.wordpress.com Facebook: The Fat Feminist Witch Twitter: @fatfemnistwitch Instagram: FatFeministWitch Pinterest: FatFemnistWitch As always the opening and closing track is Back To The 90s (Douglas Mulvey AKA D-REX) / CC BY 4.0

Episode 13 - Hexing Rapists, Movie Magic, Sketchy Solstice!
Thank you for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast! Today I'm talking about the recent mass hexing of Brock Turner and I have a message for all of the jerks who decided to publicly shame the sexual assault survivors who felt empowered by hexing a rapist. I also introduce a new segment called SILVER SCREEN SPELLCRAFT in which I review the magic and spells in witchy movies and tv and how to do those spells in real life. I start with iconic teen witch cult classic THE CRAFT, which came out 20 years ago now (barf). Your SKETCHY HERB & MAGIC ROCK this episode are for the summer solstice! Do you actually live under a rock and missed the mass hex of Brock Turner? Check out this article from The Wild Hunt that originally tipped me off, as well as This Daily Dot Article and This Flare Magazine Article that came out afterwards - both of which feature me in the defining moment of my whole life haha. Episode 12 - Not Every Goddess Has a Sacred Womb
Hello again, and thanks for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch podcast. Today I'm talking about motherhood and it's position as some sort of archaic status symbol for women within paganism and I fully attack the Triple Goddess paradigm and talk about how it's doing just as much harm as it is good. I talk about my latest review of The Spiritual Feminist, but due to it's low rating I don't really re-review it. You can read my review on the blog right here. I also have a new SKETCHY HERB AND MAGIC ROCK for you guys to check out and today's it's Calendula, or Marigold and Chrysocolla! Episode 11 - The Business of Being Pagan
Hello again everybody, and thank you for tuning in to The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast. I know it's been a little while since the last episode, but once you hear my new intro music, wacky sound effects and a solid 10 minutes of me begging for money you'll understand why. After I finish telling you how badly I want you to consider becoming a contributor to the podcast either through my Podbean Crowdfunding page, by shopping at any of my affiliates, or by buying my cool stuff from my Etsy Store- we talk about prosperity and pagan business. The episode focuses on things I've learned about the metaphysical store business, what to do and avoid if you open your own, and types of stores to absolutely avoid giving your hard-earned money to. While doing this I review Drawing the Three of Coins by Terri Paajanen (for full review, see the blog) which I gave 🔮🔮🔮🔮/5! I also introduce a new segment to the show called SKETCHY HERBS AND MAGIC ROCKS for all of you herb and crystal enthusiasts out there. Episode 9 - B.R.O.S and Cons with Special Guest Jose C.
The podcast where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand waving! We’ll be examining witchcraft and paganism from a modern, fat, feminist perspective; which might mean peeking into spirituality's broom closets and unearthing some skeletons. Featuring topics such as author interviews, magickal ethics, social justice, witchcraft around the world, the law, books and buds – all expertly delivered by Paige, The Fat Feminist Witch.

Episode 8 - Readin' and Weedin'
After the very long and well researched previous episode of the podcast, I decided to take it a little easy and talk about some current events here in Windsor. First I review a new book  - Legacy of Magick by Ellen Dugan. Ms. Dugan is an incredibly popular pagan non-fiction author and it shines through in her fun, romantic and witchy fiction series. Today Windsor's Higher Limits vapour lounge was featured in an article for high times, which was then featured in an article in the Windsor Star about that article. How cool is that? It's another episode about Cannabis today, so sit back and enjoy. The music you can, far too faintly, hear in the background is from the album Live at Monty Hall with Jeff Sarge of Reggae Schoolroom  The Blog: http://thefatfeministwitch.wordpress.com Facebook: The Fat Feminist Witch Twitter: @fatfemnistwitch Instagram: FatFeministWitch Pinterest: FatFemnistWitch

Episode 7- Godless Heathens!
Today we're talking about secular witchcraft and how not to get discouraged by your lack of "Faith".Most resources and books that deal with witchcraft approach it from a religious standpoint, but what if you don't really think you're talking to the ancient god of thunder? Are you a failure of a witch? I certainly don't think so. The podcast will now be published every other week, to avoid burnout and to allow me to write better blog posts - which you can find on my new website at http://thefatfeministwitch.wordpress.com!I also introduce a new regular feature called BOOK REVIEW OF SHADOWS where I review a new fiction or non-fiction book on witchcraft and magic. Episode 5 - The Wiccan History Lesson
Today I discuss witchcraft's more modern history - specifically Wicca's origins - and the disturbing trend of perpetuating wiccan mythology as real history! From the mythology of The Burning Times, to Gerald Gardner and the invention of Wicca, to Doreen Valiente's cateye glasses, the Lady Liberty League, Wiccan Prisoners, Silver Ravenwolf, and even The Craft, we're exploring the real history of Witchcraft in the 20th century. I also talk about this awesome piece of orgonite that has a hemp leaf in place of a quartz crystal!   The Blog: http://thefatfeministwitch.wordpress.com Facebook: The Fat Feminist Witch Twitter: @fatfemnistwitch Instagram: FatFeministWitch Pinterest: FatFemnistWitch
