We hear it all the time: God loves you. Sometimes we might hear it so often that we lose sight of what it really means, or even stop believing it fully. Nothing is more assuring, though, than hearing this truth for all that it is worth. Part 3 of our series "Blessed Assurance"
August 22, 2022

August 15, 2022

Freedom of Conscience
There are a lot of things the Bible is unclear on. Instead of illustrating irrelevancy, this demonstrates the incredible liberty we have in Christ.

Checkup for the Spirit
Routine checkups are important for maintaining a healthy body. Many times these might confirm that everything is fine, but they might just as easily reveal a serious issue. The same principle applies to our faith. Everyone needs a spiritual checkup from time to time.

Listen to the Coach
A great coach can often be the deciding factor between a skilled athlete and a winning athlete. In the Christian life, listening to the coach can play just as vital of a role.
June 20, 2022
The Playbook
If you want to play to win, you have to have a plan and know how to execute it. Playbooks are essential both in the world of athletics and the Christian life.
June 13, 2022
A New Way to Play
Solid fundamentals are crucial to winning in any sport.  Top athletes are always looking to remove hindrances to their stance, form, or swing.  The same intentionality and dedication is necessary in the Christian life as well.

Baptism is an important rite and symbol in our faith journey, but what exactly happens in the waters, and why is it so important in our walk with Christ?  Find out in part 2 of our series, "Play to Win."

A Mother's Day Question
May 09, 2022
The Question of Others
When you have the good news, you inevitably want to share it. The good news of the Gospel is no exception, but how to we respond to the inevitable questions of the other people? What if we don't know the answer? What if we get something wrong? How can we best go about sharing the good news?
May 01, 2022
A Question of Hope
People have a lot of questions about the afterlife. Where do we go? What is it like? Will there be tacos in heaven? The resurrection of Jesus leads us to some immensely satisfying answers.
April 17, 2022
Trusting When Uncertain
We all want to be certain about our decisions, even when absolute certainty isn't possible. So how can we have faith without having all the answers?
April 10, 2022
Time for Trust
Trusting God is easy when he works according to our plans and our timing. That rarely happens, however. Real faith is the trust shown even when God works on his own schedule.
April 03, 2022
Trust His Plans
Most believe that God has a plan, but when that plan diverges from our expectations, it can leave us with a lot of questions.
March 27, 2022
What is Faith?
Faith is such an important, yet somewhat vague concept. We are often told to have faith, but what does that mean?

Everyone believes themselves to be the hero of their own story, even when they truthfully are not. However, there is a true hope, and a true hero that we can depend on.
March 06, 2022
A Hostile Witness
Hypocrisy is often repelling, particularly when it takes place in the Church. How can we identify inconsistency between our life and faith, and what steps can we take to represent our beliefs more faithfully?
February 27, 2022
No Exceptions
Christians are sometimes accused of being self-righteous.  Is this true, and if so, why is that?  Maybe more importantly, what can we do to change?
February 20, 2022
No Misdemeanors
Christianity is sometimes accused of being a judgmental religion, and there may at times be truth behind this.
February 13, 2022
There is a Judge
Justice and judgment are something that a stable society relies on. Someone has to uphold the law. The same is true on a spiritual level. Justice demands the evil be punished. There is a judge, but we might be surprised by the nature of both his judgment and his leniency.

News too Good Not to Share
What do you talk about most?  The weather?  Your favorite team?  The news?  How much of our conversation is spent adding value to people's lives versus adding to the negativity around us?  Everyone could stand to hear more good news today.

Good News That Includes Us
January 23 1 truly is the loneliest number.  People were made to be in relationship with one another.  Study after study illustrates how community improves our physical, mental, and emotional health.  Our spiritual well-being is no different.  We need community.

The Secret to Contentment
Contentment often seems elusive, especially this time of year. As soon as we find satisfaction, something comes along to stoke the fires of discontent. We want different stuff, a different job, a different house, a different circumstance. Why is contentment so hard to hang onto?
November 28, 2021
The Voice of Victory
Sometimes the difference between victory and defeat lies in the voices we listen to. This holds true on the battlefield, in athletics, and even in eternal matters of life and faith.
November 21, 2021
The Greater Picture
The tyranny of the immediate often distracts us from the most important things in life. A great way to escape this pattern is to continually be reminded of the bigger picture.
November 14, 2021
Actions speak louder than words, so what does your conduct say about you? The question has power to stop and make us think. Perhaps an even more thought provoking question to ask, though, is what our conduct says about the Gospel?
November 07, 2021
God's Greater Thing
What comes to mind when you think of "The Church?" An institution? Good memories? Hypocrites? Both believers and the world at large have various mis/understandings of the Church, but what does God have to say about it? The answer might change how we understand not only the Church, but ourselves at well.

God calls his people to live justly and work for justice, but where are we to begin?
June 06, 2021

Talk of justice abounds in our cultural conversations today, but what is justice? How does God define it, and is it the same as social justice work happening today?
May 30, 2021
The Work
Why does the Holy Spirit work in our lives, and what does He accomplish? How do I know that He really is with me? How do I even know that I am really saved? These are all questions that people of faith ask at one time or another, and each of them can be answered confidently when we understand the work of the Holy Spirit.
