Our Set-Up At DKnine & Why It Works
This week is all about transitioning in the fitness industry
On Monday, Ciaran shared her experience moving from a coach in a leisure centre to coaching others all around the world to become a stretch coach 🙆♀️
On Tuesday, we looked at 5 things you could transition to, or move your business to if what you're doing right now isn't working
Today though, I want to talk a bit about what we offer at DKnine Fitness ⬇️
Our offer, our prices and what's working
So, when I first started out in North Wales..I was a PT doing 1-2-1 outdoors
I then moved to bootcamp style sessions
Then I moved to Southampton and started small group training renting in a gym
It was £1000 for 12 weeks
But when I got to Cardiff, I wanted to work with more people at once
I opened my own studio and we shifted to groups of 12
We now offer two types of sessions
STRONG - weight lifting classes
TEAM - Cardio and HIIT style classes
This way then, my clients can mix it up and do whatever they like to do best
And the reason we moved to this set-up was that it made it easier for us to get more people through the door 🚪
We were able to offer a price that worked well for people
So our pricing now is £97 a month, unlimited sessions
And usually, people come 2-3-4 times a week
Our aim is simple: get to 150 clients - around £15000 a month and that covers ALL OF OUR COSTS and makes us some profit
Then, from there, we keep scaling and growing ✅

Feeling Stuck? Here are 5 Areas You Could Explore In The Fitness Industry
This week is all about transitioning within the fitness industry
And we started Yesterday with Ciaran Cashmore coming on and sharing her experiences starting as a stretch coach and then moving through the industry to the point where she is coaching FitPros to becoming a stretch coach
Today though, I'm talking about 5 areas you could explore in the fitness industry if what you're doing right now isn't working for you ❌
1️⃣ PT
Coaching 1 or 2 people at a time is a great way to get started, understand how it all works and get the ball rolling
2️⃣ Bootcamp
This is a larger scale set-up, you might have 20+ clients all in one session, you're outside, your price is lower and its an easy set-up with less costs to run
3️⃣ Small Group
This is like the middle ground between bootcamp and PT
We used to do groups of 4 and 6, and it can run up to 8 or 10
It's more personal and it works better when you have your own facility
The aim is to deliver a PT led session, but make it affordable
4️⃣ Online
With lockdown, covid and restrictions, a lot of us were forced online, and a lot of people stayed there
Although this allows you to work with everyone and anyone
To make it really work its best to find your niche
5️⃣ Hybrid
You can do both! You can do online and face to face coaching
This means you can get the best of both worlds if you really do enjoy both
So those are 5 things you can jump into, in the fitness industry 🏋️♀️

On Tuesday, we looked at 5 things you need to work on to make sure your fitness business thrives and grows
1️⃣ Find Your Niche
If you just start working with everyone and anyone...you will find it harder to justify a higher price 😅
2️⃣ Know Your Finances
You need to know the ins and outs and everything unexpected
When someone pays, make sure you remove any tax or VAT you need to pay. Plus, factor in the operation costs like the unity, bills, staff, your own wage
3️⃣ Location
If you’re in a significant area and there are a lot of busy roads near to you…the chances are you can pick up a lot of people from surrounding areas as they can travel in quickly 😁
4️⃣ Plan
You need to be thinking about SO many things…from sessions to equipment to types of session to the number of people in each session. Plus, when it comes to marketing, what ads, what emails, what offers, what referrals are you going to run?
5️⃣ Content
How are you going to get your content out there?
Paid or unpaid?
How quickly do you need the leads? ⏰
