Summer Break - #flashfiction
One of the horror movies that I smile and get giddy for is 2001's Jeepers Creepers. What gets me is that very first scene. Two characters in a car, brother and sister, they got stuff going on, and then BOOM! this crazy truck rolls up and starts smashing them. Crazy! I love this first scene. So much in fact, that I'm going to copy it and write a story around it.

"The Door in the Sky" - #flashfiction
Urban legends seem to have tapered off quite a bit in recent memory. Maybe it was more of a school days thing where now, as an adult, I have to find my weird and interesting in podcast. (yes, more podcast talk) And one in particular is the legend of the floating door.
It's just a door that appeared in the sky one day. Too high up to reach without help and then suddenly disappears. What could this door mean? Where could it lead? Who would come out of such a door? Sounds like an interesting story don't you think?

That's right, it's just another dumb internet thing that I came across that sparked a bit of creativity in the brain areas. But this time, we do something that I've never done (that I can recall) and that's write in the second person POV.

"It's Adjusting to Your Being, Not the Other Way Around" - #flashfiction
Snake Oil? MLMs? If there's bullshit people will buy, then there's bullshit to sell. And it is everywhere. Take, for example, orgone. A concept variously described as an esoteric energy or hypothetical universal life force. WHAT?! Yeah, it's amazing how absolutely dumb this thing is. It's literally just a box that you sit in and close the door. That's it. Just wood and metal. So dumb. But! What if it actually did something... weird?

"The Bag Man" - #flashfiction
DID YOU KNOW? (Yes, I did that joke again) that nature is freaking crazy/awesome?! There's a thing called the "assassin bug" here's the link (you've got to read it https://www.bobvila.com/articles/assassin-bugs/ It reminded me of what I was calling "the Bag Man" from Bloodborne. He's actually called the "Kidnapper" https://bloodborne.fandom.com/wiki/Kidnapper. That's right! It's folklore horror, my favorite type of horror.

"Time Traveler’s Party" - #flashfiction
DID YOU KNOW? Stephen Hawkins, (yes, that Stephen Hawkins) hosted a "Time Traveler's Party" but didn't send out any invitations until after the party? It was a way for him to prove that it was impossible for traveling backwards in time. But, man, what would happen if someone actually did show up? Smells like inspiration to me.

"It's All Theatrics" - #flashfiction
Every once in a while, an "Ask Reddit" question pops up and is a doozy of a read in the comment section. This one was something to the affect of "If you could tell everyone in the world one thing, like a whisper from nowhere, what would it be?" And boom! I was off to the races.

"Football" - #flashfiction
I enjoy listening to podcasts (and, hey! Thanks for listening to this one. Tell a friend.) and 99% Invisible is one of my top ten listens. Always packed full of amazing content. Hats off y'all.
On their episode "Nukes" they tell the story of Roger Fisher, a man amongst many things, including implanting codes to a nuclear bomb by the heart of an American citizen. That way, for the President to launch a nuke, they will have to kill this innocent civilian to get the launch codes.
Crazy, right? I wonder what sort of story that could be?

"Spider Man - #flashficition
I read to my oldest son every night and we have these Marvel "read-a-long" books. Sort of like a book on tape. It's pretty neat. One story called "Spider Man: The Danger of Doc Ock!" in which Spider Man comes toe to toe with Doctor Octavius for the first time.
On one page is a city scene where Spider Man is webbing away. In the background, is a strange fellow who becomes our protagonist in this week's story.

"The Mess I Made" - #flashfiction
Every once and a while, I get gushy on a particular band that hit me at the right time during my life. "Parachute" is one of those bands in particular their debut album, Losing Sleep.
The track "The Mess I Made" has brought on some inspiration that could turn deadly for a detective when a murder hits close to home.
