Two Ways to Serve
You don't have to start a charity to change the world!
In this episode, I share
- Why it's crucial to separate business mission from your life mission
- Why you must separate your mission to your clients with your mission to the world (your philanthropic vision)
- Why both tasks are essential, but the first one funds the second
- How your core business idea in and of itself has a significant societal impact even if you're not supporting a non-profit

You don't need to have it all figured out
Hi
My clients often underestimate the power of small decisions, especially at the start of their transition from corporate to something better (we call it freedom).
I find over 80% of the professionals I work with have already made crucial micro-decisions about their lives or careers. You might be in the space too; otherwise, you won't be here. They don't give themselves credit for it. The other 20% are stuck just before making the decision or choice--they know they want something better without knowing what that better is.
That is a massive decision! Congratulations.
I share three reasons why these micro-decisions are essential to you stepping into your epic life and building that business that will change your life.

I share 5 key considerations that have helped me work through and work out resentments and bonus and move into a space of focusing on what I need to do and what I want to do to have a life that excites me.

Intuition or Fear
The purpose of this Podcast is to help those struggling with fear so severely that it stops you from making the critical decisions you need to make in your career in your business to build your epic work life.
While I believe we must fight through and overcome fear sometimes (a lot of the time), justified concerns tell you something is wrong.
If you don't know the difference between your intuition/gut and genuine panicky fear, we end up in places we never should go. Instead, you've got to start listening more to the wisdom you've gathered over the decades of your experience as a business or corporate leader. You have a lot of information inside of a step that was not tapping into.

In my mid-twenties, I went through a rough patch. I even ended up technically homeless because I chose to pursue the life I wanted, even though I had no clue how to bring it about. Fola Jimi on Demand your worth
Demand your worth
Hi Superheroes
A few years ago, I facilitated a workshop for a Fortune 100 Corporation. I did it for free naively thinking it would lead towards more paying work. Big surprise,—it did not!
This story is a great example of a professional woman (me) not knowing my worth.
In this episode, I will share:
- A bit about this amazing opportunity that paid nothing!
- Why I accepted being paid nothing
- What I believed about myself in that moment
- What I learnt about myself since then
- What I learnt about corporations and their view of money
- Why I now strongly believe that I am worth it and demand what I’m worth
- Why women struggle with asking for what we’re worth, even C Suite or high achieving women like you
- The importance of women knowing their worth
As you listen, if you do sometimes struggle with your sense of professional worth, remember you’re not alone.

Fola Jimi on Fola's failure stories Part 1
Hi Superheroes,
In this episode, I share one a big failure and the impact it had on achieving my goals and dreams.
We all face failure and the fear of failure. I know that I do.
As a recovering C Suite executive, I’ve been strongly encouraged to minimize discussing my failures and present myself as someone with ending strengths. But as a mentor, I understand that failure or the fear of failure it can cause needless and a lasting shame and pain which can be very crippling and damaging, for even the most senior executives.
So, I would like to share
- An example of a time I failed as a senior executive
- What exactly happened
- The fallout of that failure, and its impact on my career
- How I recovered from that failure
- What I learnt from that experience
- What we as a community need to understand about failure and success
Please share your stories or concerns around failure with me via email or in our Facebook group. I’m certain the ambitious women would love the encouragement of hearing your story.

Fola Jimi on Life lessons with a Prison warden
Hi Superheroes
I sat down with a prison warden in a third world maximum security men’s prison. I wanted to understand how he led in a dangerous environment with limited resources. What I learned profoundly challenged my approach to leadership and to accepting poor leadership over me since.
I used to think people lived his values on TV shows like Star Trek, so I was skeptical, but his team backed him up—apparently he walked the talk.
In this episode, I’ll share with you
- My number one takeaway from my conversation with the warden
- Why we often choose to remain under the leadership of abusive people—even as senior professionals with options
- How we can start moving away from toxic situations into a space where we can fulfil our passion, purpose and even achieve profit
Please share your experiences with toxic leadership and inspirational leadership. What kind of leader do you desire to be within a corporation where you’re employed or within your own business?

Hey, what’s YOUR next level?

A few months ago, a couple of women asked me how they could break through the glass ceiling and get to the next level of their careers? It's a big question, so I decided to answer it in this episode.

- The significance of taking off your mask and being radically honest about who you are and what you want
- Why you need to be unapologetic about what you are willing to do to get you to where you want to be
