Chuck Vs. The World
Hello & Welcome To Food For Nerds!
Today's episode marks the end of November, and therefore the conclusion of favorites month! A big shoutout to our guests for this month and to all of our listeners who came to hear Jake and Kendra speak on some of the fandoms they love. This week here their final discussion on Jake's favorite TV show, Chuck, as they break down why exactly the show was so beloved and how the fandom itself saved the show from extinction on more than one occasion.
This episode also marks a bittersweet moment for the podcast as the end of season 1. We've been nonstop working on this project since July. None of this team had any idea what we were doing when we started, we were just a group of friends having some fun. So, life and work are making us not be able to push out the quality of content we want to. Although, don't despair! We may be taking a break from our usual format but, you'll still be getting some fantastic bonus episodes and fun, festive content through the month of December. And, our normal format will be returning in the new year!

Living in a "Teenage Dream" with Ella Moore
Hello and Welcome to Food For Nerds!
This week we're continuing "favorites" month by inviting another special guest for part 2 of our discussion on Glee! Today, Kendra sits down with Ella Moore (@elmoore231) who is the self-proclaimed leader of the "Warblers Cult" on Tik Tok. Followed by multiple actors from the show and boasting an impressive audience of over 5,000, Ella has built a brand for herself by knowing anything and everything about the characters from the fictional show choir based out of Dalton Academy.
First appearing in the show in 2010 during season 2 episode 6 (Never Been Kissed) the Warblers were an instant fan favorite on Glee. Today they still hold a special place in most gleeks hearts, with some of the most beloved songs and characters to ever appear on the show. They boast a talented array of actors in their ranks including Darren Criss, Curt Mega, Grant Gustin, Riker Lynch, & Jon Robert Hall (and many more!). But, why do these boys in blazers STILL have such a dedicated fan base nearly 10 years from when they first appeared on the show? That's what Kendra and Ella will be trying to figure out today by dissecting the characters, the songs, and the stories! Plus, there might be some fangirling along the way...

The Glee Revolution with Alexis Reise Brodman
Hello and Welcome to Food For Nerds!
It's "favorites" month! That's right, join Kendra and Jake this entire month as they explore their favorite and most influential fandoms! This week Kendra has kicked Jake to the curb (sorry!) to bring in special guest Alexis Resie Brodman (@thealexisreise on Tik Tok) to take an in-depth look at her favorite TV show: Glee! As a Glee Tik Tok creator, Alexis not only has her hand on the pulse of the current fandom, but she's also a huge gleek with a massive merchandise and memorabilia collection (trust us, it's huge!). Harry Potter and the Life of Fan Culture
Hello & Welcome to Food For Nerds!
Welcome back to spooky moth, where we take the weeks leading up to Halloween to explore the world of witches, wizards, and magical beasts! This week, Kendra and Diane are taking over the podcast again to continue their discussion on Harry Potter. Today they're taking an in-depth look into fan culture. From classic Youtube videos to videogames, and festivals... Kendra and Diane are going to explore it all, give their opinions, and explain how each of these things has impacted the fandom.
Unfortunately, due to uncontrollable circumstances, a large portion of the audio for this episode was unusable. Through the magic of editing, Kendra was able to complete the episode, but it isn't exactly what we wanted to bring you and it much shorter than our episodes normally are. It also is not up to the high standards we like to hold ourselves to. However, we really wanted you to hear this conversation and also not take a break since you all expressed such an interest in us talking about these concepts. Because of this, we'll also be bringing you some bonus content this week to hopefully make up for it. So, keep an eye out for that!

Harry Potter and the Tale of Two Fangirls
Hello and Welcome to Food For Nerds!
This week Kendra has kicked Jake off the show in order to start off the spooky season right and talk in-depth about Harry Potter! Since Jake hasn't finished the series yet (I know, what is he waiting for?) Kendra has brought in the expertise of her friend and fellow fangirl... Diane! This week join Kendra and Diane as they discuss the books, the movies, and their opinions on the Harry Potter universe as a whole. Find out why Kendra thinks "Dumbledore asked calmly" is the most problematic book to movie change and hear why Diane thinks Draco Malfoy's redemption arc wasn't actual redemption. Like this episode? Do A Kickflip!
Hello and Welcome to Food For Nerds!
This week Kendra and Jake wanted to take on a topic that was a little more unique and niche. Rather than a "traditional" media fandom, they're going to explore the world of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Their discussion, based on the fabulous documentary "Pretending I'm a Superman," will explore how the games impacted the public's view of skate culture. Also, hear exactly what Kendra and Jake think about the cultural icon himself...Tony Hawk!

Ok, Bomer
Hello and Welcome to Food For Nerds!
Today's episode is all about one of Kendra and Jake's favorite TV shows: White Collar! The showed aired 2009-2014 and stars Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay as a suave con man and genius detective who must join forces to catch notorious white-collar criminals. The first show of its kind, White Collar branched out from the typical style of cop and crime shows to bring a unique viewing experience to audiences. Kendra often coins this as the show that "made Matt Bomer... Matt Bomer." Join us as we dive deep into how the show changed modern TV, its connection to the psychological... and hear both Kenda AND Jake geek-out about Matt Bomer's' fantastic performance as Neal Caffrey.
