Stand To The Call

Stand To The Call

Ezekiel’s Call to Be a Prophet

He said to me, “Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

You Are The I Am

You Are The I Am

Victoria shares her experience with trusting God, herself, and others. Having the ability to trust someone with your safety is something that is being lost in the world, far before COVID times. Trust isn't easy to give, even to God. It is hard for each and every one of us to place trust in Him, and that is something we all must work on; it is something the Spirit must work on inside of us.

Tune in and listen to how Victoria talks about her trust in the Lord. It's not exactly how you would think.

The Runaway

The Runaway

Devotional on the first two chapters of Jonah.

Jonah Flees From the Lord

The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

Jonah 2

“When my life was ebbing away,
I remembered you, Lord,
and my prayer rose to you,
to your holy temple.

“Those who cling to worthless idols
turn away from God’s love for them.
But I, with shouts of grateful praise,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’”

10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

The Pursuit of Him

Isaiah 32: 17 “And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.”

Isaiah 64:4 “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Proverbs 22:21 “Through our faith and pursuit of God, not immediately but in the pursuit of His, do we find life, righteousness, and honor”

Hey Everyone!

I made a new intro and outro. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Also, there is a hidden C.S. Lewis reference in the episode.

Hebrews 12: 11

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Parallel Lives

Poetry of God ep. 5: Tares and Wheat

Poetry of God ep. 5: Tares and Wheat

Psalms 1:5-6 "Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

As we wrap up Psalms chapter one, I would like to ask if anyone has any suggestions or verses they would like to share for a devotional? Whether it is your favorite verse or a verse that has been on your heart for some time if you wish to share it before we transition into Psalms chapter two, leave a comment below or message me through the website at www.Fromoiltolight.com

Truth In Light ft. Ida McMillan-Zapf

Truth In Light ft. Ida McMillan-Zapf

I had a wonderful conversation with Ida about faith and Christian living. She shared her story so that all of us may know that God has good works in-store. It is remarkable to see how God takes the bad and ugly things in our lives and use them as powerful testimonies to shape us into faithful leaders. Regardless of what we have endured and the ugliness of it, surrender yourself to God and watch Him turn it into a platform to communicate to others. Within all of us is a story that relates to another person in need of encouragement. Allow God to use you and become that beacon of light that reveals the truth of Him and ourselves within Him.

Poetry Of God Ep. 3

Poetry Of God Ep. 3

Psalms 1: 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Poetry of God ep.2

Poetry of God ep.2

Psalms 1:2 - But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Join me as we study God's word for delight and obedience.

Sometimes we need a reminder as to how great God is and how much He does for us daily. We often become overwhelmed with work and other daily activities that we lose track of God's word and develop a pattern of going through the motions. But this morning, set a few minutes aside for you and the Lord, and reflect on all He has given you and shared with you. It is a marvelous thing to look back and witness all He has done for us. I've personally been enjoying my time with the Lord and that is why I wished to share my joy.

So tune in! If you like the podcast, let me know. If you don't, let me know that too. Help me best service you through our Lord.

If you have any questions, prayer requests, scripture requests, or if you simply wish to discuss the Word of God, send me a message through the website at www.Fromoiltolight.com, or email me at Fromoiltolight@gmail.com.

I would love to hear what you have to say!

Poetry of God Ep. 1

Poetry of God Ep. 1

The Poetry of God is how we are going to kickstart this devotional!

The Book of Psalms is filled with the truth of God. Throughout each verse, David describes the character, the promises, and the abundance of love and grace God bestows onto all of us. What makes Psalms interesting is that it is written poetically. God's word has rhythm, and that is because there is movement in growth. God's word incites praise, and love, and dance, and cultivation of the spirit so that we may grow into Him. I am all the more ready to do so.

I am eager to dive into the Book of Psalms.

I hope you are too.

Living Out The Cycle

Living Out The Cycle

In this week’s podcast, my friend Victoria was kind enough to join me to discuss cycles. We spoke about how cycles originate, signs and triggers, and how they reoccur within our lives, whether it is within a romantic relationship, work, family, or just everyday living.  We spoke about how these cycles create conflict by opposing our Christian values, and how in dire times difficult decisions are needed to be made.

If you have the time, stop by and listen!

If you liked what was said or didn’t, or if you want share your own thoughts, send me a message!

I am always willing to learn and discuss new topics.
