Mark and Ray talk to Dave Guilford, local sound technician/guru of Ripe Audio, about his most recent endeavor - Band Together Buffalo - which gives local, musicians, out of work due to COVID-19, a chance to continue working via live-streamed concerts. The boys also take a call from their L.A. pal, and Episode 1 guest, Nick Aguilar, to hear what he’s been upto and how he’s dealing with the newfound downtime. In Big Dip #7, the Brothers Jabronavich are once more hauled in for questioning and Mark and Ray talk to Zach Dietsch, a Buffalo-native who now resides and performs stand-up in Chicago. They talk about Zach’s journey into the world of comedy thus far, his recent appearance as host of Jeremiah Watkins’ (Jeremiah Wonders, Kill Tony) run of shows at Helium, and the possible downside to letting your mom in on your jokes. Gary Lucas is a legendary guitarist with over 30 albums. He is a Grammy Award nominee, a composer, collaborator, teacher, and author. Gary has a unique perspective of the music biz and it lends to his ability to connect a who’s who of musics past and future. We went down the Gary Lucas wormhole and we were amazed by his craft. We had an idea of what we were going to talk about but it transcended into something far more RAD! Thanks to Gary for sharing his stories and we urge our listeners to take a glimpse into the abyss. Episode 5 of JBB’s Big Dip sees Mark and Ray without a guest after local boy, Sonny Baker, goes missing. After 9+ years of providing the good people with a good time, Buffalo, NY’s funk-punk stalwarts, Mallwalkers, have decided to hang it up. Mark and Ray sat down with Stephen, Jaz, and Dan to discuss the band’s history, what kept them going for as long as they have, and why now is the time for them to put it to sleep. It’s the quintessential Mallwalkers exit interview, complete with the premiere of two tracks (‘Wasting Away’ to start us off and ‘Me Without You’ at the end) off of their new and final LP, Do Something Drastic, and we couldn’t be happier to help bring it all to you. In Big Dip #3, the boys are finally joined by Brother Bill for an in-depth, downright dirty discussion on nether-region hygiene habits and the finest in cock-art, among other things. They also put a call in to Timmy Vulgar, the legendary acid-punk king of Hamtramck, MI, as he prepares to take his Timmy’s Organism on the road.
