Ayo, it's B, after a long while of disappearing from this podcast scene. We love when the cumulative stressors from life, school, politics, and social matters drags us down into a drag. Not really. For legal reasons, that was a joke. However, we're going to hop back into this, weekly or biweekly, depending on how much I have going on. If you're still around, thank you. I promise to be better with this project, because this is something I genuinely want to carry on with.

I suppose this is the first installation of Why Is B Upset (WIBU). The rant that floated into my mind relates to Black Lives Matter. In a general sense, the steam, hype, trend of BLM has fizzled down a bit. It is still very active, and even if it wasn't, that does not mean we should stop our growth, nor should we slow our pursuit of justice. Stay mindful of the small habits and behaviors that you make adjustments to in your day to day life. Unlearn a common generalization, saying, assumption, stereotype. Learn the history, background, and hidden realities that SHOULD be more known. Listen to Black voices and help them be heard. 

In relation to this, make sure you realize the overlap and connection BLM has with other issues. People of color are more impacted by climate change and pollution. Racism has no place in the LGBTQ+ community. Misconceptions and biases impact the quality of health care people of color receive. Generalizations and stereotypes impact school environments, if and when accessible.

WELCOME to the first episode of the G00n Pod reb00t. We would like to introduce the first G00n: Kevin Nguyen, also called Minh-Huy. At the beginning of the COVID-19 quarantine, with all the toilet paper hoarding, Minh asked what I would do if I was in a public restroom with absolutely no toilet paper or paper towels. So, naturally, it would be PERFECT for him to come on and discuss questionable decisions with me. 

Cheers to the first of many story times to come. In this episode, B tells the legend of the spoon that defined her high school personality, Heather shares the tale of her first high school crush, and B unravels into a flustered mess.

Continuing where the last episode left off, in this episode, we share the differences we've noticed in college when it comes to socializing and building relationships. Better in some ways. Trickier in others. Relationships take work to readjust to progressing dynamics. We've both branched out, yet we both hold onto familiarity.

This episode's sailing ships share what we learned about personal relationships in high school. For us, the term relationship broadly refers to any connection with friends, significant others, support systems, and so on. We both experienced conflicts and mental health struggles in high school that influenced how our social bubbles developed.

Ayo, it's Beatriz solo for a shorter clip that ties back to the last episode, where I impulsively cut my hair. For this one, I recap over my parents' reactions and share some of the thoughts and feelings I've contemplated on these last few days. My mind kinda just ran its course. I do not regret cutting my hair at all. I do not regret waiting for as long as I have.

To anyone who needs this: Every bit of my being hopes that you reach the moment you see the person you want to see and are meant to authentically be, looking back at you in the mirror. Somehow the pieces all into place. I believe in you and your abilities.
