Author interview; Newly Published Nick Stitle

Author interview; Newly Published Nick Stitle

Hello fellow authors. Welcome to a special author interview. Todao'sday'st is the youngest author featured on the channel, newly published indie author Nick Stitle. Nick is just seventeen years old, and while Stormless is his first "real" book, it is far from the first story he has told. He has always been fascinated with reading, and once he began middle school, he thought he'd try writing. As he learned and grew as a student, his writing also improved. He connected with other readers and writers in his grade, compelling him to work even harder on his writing. He juggled tennis, golf, writing, and reading throughout middle school and built an impressive academic resume. And, of course, he always loved (and still does love) to kill a few hours on PlayStation gaming with friends. However, beginning in high school, he started to take writing more seriously. After finishing his freshman tennis season, which would ultimately be the only season he played in high school, he began formulating a new story. Fast-forward nearly a year, and after spending all summer relentlessly working on his tennis skills, injuries forced him to stop. He soon realized, however, that this was an opportunity to begin working on the project he had been so carefully putting together in his head. And so, starting in the fall of 2021, he began writing Stormless. He woke up early every day to work on the project before school; by May, he was finished. He was paired with an editor on Reedsy, and after spending the summer working with her and revising his work, Stormless was nearly complete. Since then, he has begun working on a new, untitled project while continuing to tighten up Stormless. He has recently started a social media account to connect with other writers! He doesn't plan to stop writing stories; writing is his passion, and his dream is to share his stories with readers worldwide. Even with Stormless books one and two nearly completed at seventeen, this is still a lofty goal. Still, his journey as a writer is just beginning. To follow Nick and his journey, check out the links below and purchase a copy of Stormless on Barnes and Noble or Amazon. Amazon listing: https://www.amazon.com/Stormless-Nick... Wandering Scribe Feature: Pirate talks with friend and fellow author Rachel Reeves

Greetings, fellow authors. Today is a special episode on the podcast, as I have with my friend and fellow author Rachel Reeves. In this casual episode, Rachel and I discuss the pirates' history and their lasting impressions on the 21st century. We also discuss pirate depictions in media, literature, the forgotten history of pirates, and more. It is a more "fireside" chat than the previous episodes; it is an excellent refresher to do an episode that is not as formal as my previous ones. I hope you enjoy this, and please check out my youtube channel for more content coming soon.

Hello, fellow Scribes. Welcome to another author interview. In this episode, we have the wonderfully talented Baptiste Pinson Wu as he discusses with us his latest book series The Three Kingdoms Chronicles. In this episode, Baptiste discusses his love for the Three Kingdoms era of China, his other works in Norse and Viking mythology, and his passion for writing historical fiction. This episode is arguably one of my favorites as it is the first time a fellow guest and I share not only the same interests in history but also the same types of authors as well, one great example being Bernard Cornwell, the godfather of modern historical fiction.

Historian Interview: Author and Medieval Historian Dr. Hosler

Historian Interview: Author and Medieval Historian Dr. Hosler

Greetings, my fellow history lovers. Today we have our first historian interview on the channel. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. John D. Hosler and his latest book Jerusalem Falls: Seven Centuries of War and Peace. This was an exciting episode for me to do as I am always eager to learn and relearn history. In our discussion, Dr. Hosler explains that the history of Jerusalem in the antiquities and medieval periods changed. I learn about how Jerusalem during the early to mid-medieval period was a land of three religions and its story extending beyond the Crusader wars. An inciteful interview, full of jam-packed information, makes us reconsider the established narrative about the holy city during those seven centuries.
My guest: Dr. John Hosler is an award-winning historian of medieval warfare | a History professor with 23 years of experience at five universities | and a Media consultant whose past clients include The History Channel, NBC, Blackfin Productions, Zed Films, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation | Represented by The Stuart Agency, New York City
In addition to 60+ published essays and reviews, he is the author of four books: Jerusalem Falls: Seven Centuries of War and Peace The Siege of Acre, 1189-1191: Saladin, Richard the Lionheart, and the Battle that Decided the Third Crusade John of Salisbury: Military Authority of the Twelfth-Century Renaissance Henry II: a Medieval Soldier at War
And editor/co-editor of four more: Routledge Handbook on Medieval Military Strategy Seven Myths of Military History Military Cultures and Martial Enterprises in the Middle Ages: Essays in Honour of Richard P. Abels Where Heaven and Earth Meet: Essays on Medieval Europe in Honor of Daniel F. Callahan
His book on Acre was named the Best Book of 2018 by both The Financial Times and the Times Literary Supplement, and it won the Verbruggen Prize for best book in medieval military history.

The Sentimental Dead review

The Sentimental Dead review

Welcome fellow scribes and quill masters. Today we have another book review courtesy of Indie author Ravven White. This is a first for the channel as it is a Vampire story, but not your typical vampire storyline. In this world created by Ravven, we find the population divided between Vampires and humans. Within these two major groups are the elites and the turned. The turned are non-born vampires, those that have been transformed in some way or form. The titular character is Emile thorn, who, along with his company and best friend Ash hunts down monsters who seek the disrupt the balance between the two groups. Yet relics of Emiles past come to light and throw the hunter down a spiral of self-reflection and more. Are we born monsters? Or do we become them?

This book is not for the typical reader as the author does have trigger warnings for specific elements, yet if you can get past those, you will enjoy the story.

The Silent Witness Review

Hello, my fellow scribes. Join me today as we review a long awaited book, the silent witness. Written by my best friend and fellow author, Kim Appelgryn, the silent witness follows the journey of Serafinn the moon goddess as she tries to mend the relationship between her kind, the gods of Evertheen, and those of Barathorn, mankind. For lovers of high fantasy and the works of Tolkein, C.S. Lewis and George R.R. Martin, this book is a must-read and have in everyone's collection. You will not be disappointed by it.

The Four Lands of Arravan Review

The Four Lands of Arravan Review

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, fellow scribes. Join me on this festive day of the year as we read and review The Four lands of Arravan by Autumn Amber. In the initial chapter, this book reminds me a lot of Avatar the Last Airbender in terms of the four clans, based solely upon the four elements: fire, water, earth, and air, as well as blending high fantasy themes. In addition, I am also getting subtle witcher vibes regarding the social-political instability between the Fae, those who can control the elements, and the humans on a tense footing with their magical neighbors. The book follows the event after the fated trinity war, and life is still rebuilding and healing. A fund and adventures read, I highly recommend you read it and support the author.

Silver Mercy Review

Silver Mercy Review

They say two is better than one. I have returned with another book review, this time from author _Autumn_Amber_'s. This book is called Silver Mercy, and boy, does this story have a tale to tell.  According to the story: It is said that our world was created in a flash of fire. A Phoenix, an Ancient soul named Solaris, destined to die, collided with the barren earth and thus created what we know today. With its life force flowing through the planet's very core, it was reborn in the form of man. And Solaris’ spirit rose to the skies and sought refuge amongst his brothers and sisters, that, too, shone in the depth of space. But, it was not just humans that rose from the ashes. Another Bloodline ran alongside them. It harnessed abilities of great nature. They would soon come to be known as Gracers and their superiors. The Architects. If that does not grab your attention, I don't know what will. This first chapter sets the stage in early 19th century London, and we are introduced to the powerful families that live amongst the humans, living by their laws, but something changes the world, for both man and the world.
