25 Foods to Avoid
As it turns out, every food is not good for every body.
God made us all uniquely different. So even if you are eating various fruits and vegetables - deemed healthy - it does not mean they are necessarily good for you to eat.
Yes, for some people, certain foods don't agree with their body type and can cause side effects which actually create health problems and conditions such as diabetes, liver disease, kidney stones, high cholesterol, etc.
Attention Parents: Here are two foods I forgot to mention in this episode - Pop Tarts and cheese in a can.
The first few ingredients in Pop Tarts consist of refined sugars including corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, and sugar. So as nutritionist Ha Nguyen, RDN explained, "You might as well send your kid off to school with a candy bar for breakfast." Canned cheese is highly processed, with only a small amount of real cheese. It's primarily artificial cheese with lots of added salt. During this episode of Partners in Health and Biz learn the 25 foods that most people should avoid eating, and why.

Why You Need a Naturopathic Doctor
Naturopathic doctors or naturopathic medical doctors earn ND or NMD degrees from a naturopathic medical school. Both names and abbreviations mean the same thing, but the individual selects the title based on educational institution, state practiced in, or personal preference.
In addition to a standard medical curriculum, schools require their graduates to complete four years of training in disciplines such as clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, physical medicine, IV nutritional therapies, and counseling.
NDs have their own licensing exams, called the NPLEX, which they must take upon graduating from a four-year accredited institution. The exams cover basic sciences such as anatomy and biochemistry, as well as clinical sciences including pharmacology and, in some states, minor surgery.

How Caffeine Can Affect Your Heart
How Caffeine Can Affect Your Heart
Tea and coffee are amazingly beneficial beverages. The majority contain caffeine, a substance that can enhance your mood, metabolism, and mental and physical performance. Studies also show that it is safe for most people when consumed at low to moderate levels. Nevertheless, high intakes of caffeine can have uncomfortable and dangerous side effects.
In addition, several pieces of research show that genes significantly influence tolerance. As a result, some people can consume much more caffeine than others without experiencing adverse effects. In addition, people not used to caffeine may experience symptoms after consuming what is generally considered a moderate dose.
Some side effects of excessive caffeine intake can include anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, muscle breakdown, addiction, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, fatigue, frequent urination, and urgency. However, the bottom line is that light-to-moderate caffeine consumption appears to provide impressive health benefits to many people.
On the other hand, high dosages can cause side effects that interfere with daily life and even cause serious health problems. Even though reactions differ from one person to another, the results of high intake demonstrate that more is not necessarily better. So, you can get the benefits of caffeine without undesirable effects, make an accurate evaluation of your sleep, energy levels, and other factors influenced, and reduce your intake if necessary.

Herbs that Can Sicken or Kill You - Pt. 2
In general, herbal remedies are many times safer than just about any prescription drugs you can buy or get from your doctor. But never assume that anything that is "natural" or that is sold in a health food store is automatically without harm. There are many such products that can sicken, or even kill you. Also, many such products form deadly interactions with prescription drugs. Most doctors never ask patients if they are currently taking natural or herbal remedies. If you are, make sure you tell your doctor about everything you take. Also, most herbal products only become dangerous when they are not taken as directed, or taken in mega doses.
Tune in to this episode of Partners in Health and Biz and learn the 8 steps you must take before ingesting any type of herb or so-called herbal remedy, because certain herbs can sicken or kill you!

Age Beautifully Using Collagen
The word "collagen" comes from the Greek word “kolla” which translates to the word glue. Collagen is often referred to as the glue that holds the body together. It is an important structural component of skin, tendons, bones, cartilage, and all other connective tissues.
Collagen production is negatively affected by several factors including age. Individuals start to lose collagen as young as 18 years of age, and by age 40, the body can lose approximately 1% per year.4 A notable decline in collagen production starts at age 25, which means relying on your body' stores simply isn't enough.

Surprisingly, despite their pronounced acid flavor, citrus fruit and rhubarb form alkaline residues. This is because their distinctive organic acids like citric, succinic, fumaric and malic metabolize to water and alkalinizing bicarbonate, while producing energy inside the cell.
Tune in to this episode of Partners in Health and Biz to learn the importance of eating an alkaline diet rich in certain fruits, vegetables, beans, seeds, and sprouts.

Take a Walk of Healing
Reflect - Our days are often long; filled with challenges and obstacles to overcome. As we review our day, week or month, and walk, we meditate and reflect on the issues before us that we must confront and resolve. Where are we going? What should we do? What does this all mean?

Release - Once we identify these issues, problems or obstacles, we pray to God and release our worries and concerns to Him to handle, as one would release a dove of peace to freedom.
Receive - Finally, after we have reflected and released, we open our heart, mind and spirit to receive God's direction, wisdom, knowledge and peace, believing that God is working everything out for our good.
And this is why we walk!

The Benefits of Aromatherapy and Essential Oils - Pt. 1
Aromatherapy has been used for centuries, dating back to ancient Egypt, to treat various physical, mental and emotional illnesses.
As the natural health movement expanded in the late twentieth century, one popular "new" form of healing was the use of essential oils - concentrated oils taken from the flowers, fruits, seeds and other parts of plants.
Technically, essential oils are hydrophobic liquids containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. The oils are essential because they capture the "essence" of a plants fragrance (not because they are essential in terms of being indispensable).
Join Partners in Health and Biz talk show host/Natural Health Consultant, Gail Dixon-McBride, as she shares how aromatherapy and essential oils can be used to help and heal the body, mind, and emotions, in this two part series called, "The Benefits of Aromatherapy and Essential Oils "- Part 1.
Antioxidants in Foods to Prevent Diseases and Slow Down Aging
While many antioxidant nutrients are available in supplement form, for the most part it is better to get a combination of food-derived antioxidants. Whole foods also contain fiber, and nutrients from whole foods are probably more readily absorbed than those in pills or supplements.
Growing research shows that there is synergy among dietary antioxidants and that "networking" combinations are more beneficial, as each antioxidant has special protective properties for particular body functions. Foods and products that combine two or more of these vital nutrients provide the most effective balance.
Join Partners in Health and Biz podcast host/Natural Health Consultant Gail Dixon-McBride as she shares why certain natural foods contain the powerful antioxidants that can help prevent and slow down the aging process in people.
