The weird thing about adversity
The weird thing about adversity
In this episode of The Godventure Podcast, we discuss how adversity can sometimes be the fun part of outdoor adventures, as well as how God uses it to shape us. We share some stories of how things did not go according to plan, but looking back we wouldn't have it any other way. In addition to reflecting on why we think God allows adversity in our own lives to shape us.  Please send us a DM on our Instagram with any questions you have or click the messages link at the bottom of this description, and we may answer it in a podcast. Please subscribe to The Godventure Podcast to hear more stories and outdoorsy insight and leave us a review on Apple podcast letting us know what you learned during this podcast. Camping can connect you to God
Camping can connect you to God
In this podcast, we talked about how camping can help you connect with God. We believe the farther you are away from the busy normal life the easier it is to hear God's voice. Camping can be one of the best ways to do this by getting out in the wilderness for an extended period of time God can meet you there. We mentioned the reason why we like camping so much and a few ways to get into it if you have not been before. We hope this encourages you to go camping whether that's just around the corner or across the country. Please let us know how you get into camping! A few locations mentioned in today's podcast: Preachers Rock Yonah Mountian If you are looking for a location and want some advice DM us on Instagram and we will love to help! Racial Reconciliation from a Christian Perspective | Feat. Tyler Allison
Racial Reconciliation from a Christian Perspective | Feat. Tyler Allison
In this podcast, we talked about the racial divide within the United States and our duty as Christians to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God in the pursuit of racial reconciliation. We are joined by Tyler Allison, our good friend, and brother in Christ. He presented us with a Christian perspective on racial reconciliation and walked us through some of his experiences as a black man living in the United States. Together we had a conversation over Imago Dei, which is the truth that all human beings are created in the image and likeness of God. Lastly, Ty shared his encounters with God in nature and ended the conversation with a prayer seeking healing for both individual souls and for our nation, which can only come through Christ. Verses mentioned in this week’s episode: Genesis 1:25-26 Revelations 7:9-10 Matthew 28:19 Revelations 21:23 Matthew 18: 12-14 Revelations 21: 24 Send us a DM on our Instagram with questions and comments- or click the message link at the bottom of this description for a chance that your question will be answered on Godventure! How to plan a road trip | Feat. Holly Janco and Calvin Go
How to plan a road trip | Feat. Holly Janco and Calvin Go
There is a lot that goes into planning a road trip across the county. In this week's podcast, we break that down for you. We hope this helps you in the planning stages of your next Godventure. We are joined by Holly Janco and Calvin Go who were members of the Godventure road trip this past summer that sparked the idea for this podcast. We hope this encourages you to go and take a trip of your own! To have a successful road trip you need: Itinerary that is very well developed. (we will share ours with you on the last podcast in this series)  A budget with every cost you can think of including emergency funds. (we will share this as well) Think of back up plans as much as possible.  An awesome crew to go with that is willing to be flexible to change when it inevitably arises.  We hope this helps you plan future trips, and we'd love to help in any way we can. Gear you need to get outdoors
Gear you need to get outdoors
In this podcast, we discuss gear for different types of outdoor adventures. We give a general overview of different gear needed for different types of outdoor activities. Gear for things like Hiking, Camping, Backpacking, Overlanding, Fishing, and Rock Climbing. We discuss what we have what we like and do not like from our experience with different brands and levels of equipment. Then Robert shares about the Christmas star coming on December 21st. This will be the first time this has happened since July 1623 so make sure you check it out. Many believe this is similar to what happened on Jesus's birth that created a star for the wise men to follow. So when you watch this happen make sure to take time to reflect on Jesus's coming. Hope you enjoyed this podcast please subscribe to The Godventure Podcast and leave us a review on Apple podcast.
