Reflection- Taking a Look Back

Whether you're working in the long, food stocked aisles of a cold supermarket or you're dressed in business casual attire at your cubicle downtown, you’ve been placed in a setting where you now have coworkers. Talks during lunch hours and during breaks in between has somehow ended you up at a lavish traditional Nigerian wedding and now you invited them to your child's 6th birthday party? what a friendship.

Friends, How many of us have them?

There will be times you need to exhale and you know just who to call. Your best friend. Whether it’s for a pick-me-up or just a casual “because I’m bored”, it seems as if they know how to connect to you best. Like 50 cent said “If I was your best friend, I’d want you around all the time” is exactly how some may feel about their best friends but what if that “best friend is of the opposite sex? Could you handle that? Could your partner? Can there be an absolutely platonic successful relationship between people of the opposite sex? Pull up as GXT dabble into what character traits they look for and they even spill who their besties are.

In this week’s episode, GXT decided to bring on a few guests. The people your parents decided to bring into your life that somehow became part of your responsibility, your siblings. Imani (little sister of Gianna) and “Coco” (Talon’s twin) are both featured giving insight on the personalities of their siblings. The arguing, fussing, fighting, loving and funny times of having siblings. Luckily for Xavier, she is an only child but having a sisterly bond with Gianna, you’d never be able to tell and she even spills a scrumptious insider. However, Gianna and Talon get into the ups and downs of having multiple siblings from and dealing with different personalities.

Being Parents

Yes, “because I said so”. An emotional and rather touching episode all about the parents of GXT. They breakdown traits, memories, the good and bad of their parents. Sharing stories of heartbreak but also of joyous occasions. GXT were all raised by strong black women but also had to deal with the harsh reality of single parent households and being raised by young parents where all their dads were present in their lives but absent from the home. It gets deep so grab your tissues man, the tears come out in this episode.

It gets downright dirty as GXT opens up about their sexcapades. It could all be so simple except it's really not. Xavier becomes the “little hoochie”, young inquisitive Gianna explores premium channels, dog on dog hunching, all awhile Talon reminisces how his virginity was snatched by a passive-aggressive young lady. The group comes to a mutual agreement on casual sex including more than one partner a day. And Talon shares creative tips on how to get it in at any time of the day for new parents. Tune in as GXT plagues you with sensory details of orgasms, sex education, and even a sex game!

The trio gets a little personal as they continue to share undiluted and unfiltered information on their own relations. The messages are all through this episode as GXT slightly engulfed us into situationships & ghosting. Gianna tells about wanting a marriage with her long term boyfriend. Xavier talks about trying to break the cycle of having kids that don’t know or aren’t close to the fathers’ side of the family. And Talon speaks on being married at a young age, what it takes to sustain a beautiful union and how he knew she was the one.

In Episode 1 GXT really gave a small insight on how they maneuver during the dating realm. With so much to speak about and elaborate on, part 2 was pivotal.  The 3 tackle situationships and searching for something real and time frames. Too much for just one episode.The women speak on the air heads that get nothing, hit and goes ,how good d*** will blind you & the new generation of women paying for dates and meals. Listen in to find out these millennials break down and handle situations that many of their peers have gone through.

“What is dating? Tinder, and All up in ya DM’s” is the first episode of Got the Message where the GXT trio jumps right into a juicy conversation on dating. Gianna mentions being the chronic relationship type and even tells about the dirty acts of person trying to sabotage her past relationships. Xavier gives a break down of her experiences of dating and using what some people find controversial, dating apps and Talon speaks on his self description of being “parent approved” and his dating prowls while being a young dad.
