On Monarchs

Green Acres roots run deep for today's co-hosts—and so does their shared passion for monarch butterflies. In this episode, Ellen Prentiss Campbell '65, Nan Shapiro, and Addie '23 trace Green Acres' monarch butterfly program from its origins in the early 1970s through the present day and share how this project has fostered among Green Acres students—past, present, and certainly future—a legacy of environmental stewardship, appreciation of the life cycle, and love of the natural world.

Hear more about the important legacy of Henrietta Lacks, Bass Reeves, and Jean-Michel Basquiat; our students' experiences researching these historical figures; and how Michael challenges and inspires those he teaches by tailoring each research topic to each student's background, interests, and passions.
