Are You Ready For (Future) Motherhood? How To Prepare Yourself for Being a Mom | Emily Hardy
This episode was filmed weeks and maybe months before the world started talking about Roe vs. Wade again. With that being said, this episode was never intended to be shared in light of the current overturning.
It’s a very sensitive time in the United States because at the time this episode airs, we are 2 days after the Supreme Court ruling.
This episode is about the transition of going from career woman to mom and all the bumps and hiccups along the way. Emily’s story briefly touches on unexpected motherhood and what that looks like, so I want to be clear up front that this episode does not intend to highlight any views or opinions about abortion, pro-choice, or pro-life.
I intend this episode to paint a clear picture for those of you who are not yet mothers on what it actually looks like to become one: The good, the bad, and the ugly from an ambitious woman who went through it all. I personally have never had the opportunity to fully ask a mom all my questions about the challenges of motherhood, so I know this conversation will be useful to you if you’re in a similar boat as me.
Coming out of this, my hope is that you understand more fully what the transition into motherhood is like and how you can better prepare yourself when the time comes.
In this episode, we talk about:
- What it’s like becoming a mother unexpectedly
- Handling the fears of becoming a mom
- Post-partum depression and how it can look
- The challenges of transitioning from career woman to mom
- Establishing identity before vs. after having a child
- Tools & resources to help you in the tough transition of finding yourself
- How to identify your needs when you don’t know what you need
- How to have your needs met when you’re a mom
- How to still accomplish your dreams after becoming a mom

Relationships are challenging, but when we build a healthy foundation with our self worth we give ourselves a chance to flourish. Join me and a group of girlfriends as we talk about what our romantic, platonic, and familial relationships are like and how we've been able to relate to others. The conversation gets a little spicy when we start to disagree on some topics, but the conversation is fruitful, fun, and productive!
Here are the topics we cover:
- How to establish boundaries
- How to handle when you’re offended
- Setting the “thermostat” of your intimate relationships
- How to be a “strong, independent woman” without being selfish

What is Self Worth? + 5 Steps for How to Build it
Today we’re beginning a 5-part series on something so foundational that it’s often missed. Think of the thick slab of concrete underneath a house. If you don’t have that piece and you try to build your house on top of it, your home is going to be shaky. Our self-worth is the same way to our mental health.
Many people get confused between self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem, but in reality, they’re all very closely related and are used to describe different aspects of how you perceive yourself, your abilities, and how you may express those inwardly and outwardly to others. We’re not going to dive into the differences today, but we’re going to focus on an aspect I believe to be the root of all three, and that is self-worth.

Chronic, Mystery, or Invisible Illness? You can Heal. | Cassidy Amber Chapman
Are you experiencing an illness that you, doctors, and specialists can't seem to explain? Are you tired of reaching dead ends with finding a solution? Well, fear not because you are not alone.
Cassidy Amber Chapman experienced the same thing at just 16 years old. After doctors repeatedly told her that she was fine, people telling her that she was faking it, and going through a deep depression and suicidal thoughts, she decided to take her healing into her own hands.
Even though she had no idea how she was going to do it, she was determined to figure it out. The journey she went on led her to heal 12 of the 15 food allergies she had, lose over 60 lbs, and heal many of the symptoms that caused her so much pain.
Cassidy's message is one of empowerment as she believes that women with chronic, mystery, and invisible illnesses can reclaim control of their health and accomplish deep healing.
