Consciously Navigating Pain

Honoring Your Seasons
Tiffanie is a mother of two, wife, coach + mentor, naturalist, retreat host, intentional hike leader, globe traveler, and she has a Master’s in Education and a degree in Economics. She taught English as a second language at an Elementary school for military children in South Korea and had the opportunity to travel to several countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Germany, and Spain, to name a few. After several years, she decided to leave her dream job and begin her journey back to San Diego to pursue a career where she could merge her passions – teaching and nature.
This journey began when she completed a Trail Guide Certification Program in 2015 and began leading guided nature hikes. This led to other nature-based education jobs in pursuit of finding her new dream career. She eventually started her own business as an online/in-person nature-based life and accountability coach for women. She works with soul-aligned, high-achieving women to align their vision and values in both their professional and personal lives. Each session, retreat, and event is about the person reconnecting with themselves so they can regain balance, flow, and ease in their being.She does this by incorporating the lessons of Mother Nature

Three Facts About Pain and The Brain
The brain/nervous system mediates our internal and external environments. Pain is signaled to and from the brain allowing us to know our physical body is changing. Congenital insensitivity to pain is a condition in which an individual cannot perceive pain, which can lead to various injuries and health conditions (1). Without pain, we would have no insight of what supports us and what hinders us.

3 Reasons to Start Meditating to Support Your Nervous System
The nervous system conducts all functions of the body – from how we digest our food to developing a fetus. It mediates internal and external stressors (mental/emotional, physical, chemical, and even spiritual). If your nervous system is inadequate at adapting to these stressors then healing, growth, repair systems and creation do not flourish.

Nervous System Perspective on Trigger Points
"Trigger points are myofascial bundles created over time due to a stressor. Physical trauma, postural imbalances, abnormal movement patterns, and tissue inflammation (of muscles, organs, ligaments, etc.) can be considered a ‘stressor’. These ‘knots’ can be found superficially (underneath the skin) or even deeper through a connective tissue called fascia. Wherever fascia appears, a trigger point can set up camp!"
