Are there times when you don’t feel like who Jesus has called you to be?

'For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.' -- Ephesians 1:4

      Are there times when you don’t feel holy, righteous, and blameless?

'For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— ' ---Philippians 3:3

Paul tells us, despite how we feel, not to put our confidence in the flesh! Don’t depend on your feelings to tell you who you are but instead, believe and depend on what God has said about you! Let's boast and put our confidence in Jesus Christ!

Paul also reminds us to press on and not to look back at what we once were but to strain towards what is ahead! 

'Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. '  Philippians 3:12  ... But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, '  Philippians 3:13

By faith in Jesus, you are not who you used to be.

This concept of being made a new creation is sprinkled all over the New Testament:

(2 Cor 5:17-21 | Gal 2:20 | Rom 6:3-4 | Eph 4:22-24 | John 3:1-21 | Gal 3:26-28 and more!)

And many prophets in the Old Testament foretold this as well:

(Is 43:18-19 | Ez 11:19-20, 36:25-27 | Jer 24:7, 32:39).

Can one man really make a difference? Can one man create change either for good or bad?

Lets see what the Bible has to say,

'Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all people, because all sinned— ' Romans 5:12

Due to the action of one man, death had entered because of sin. Since the penalty of sin or the wages of sin is death, we were all destined to die an eternal death because of our sins.

'for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ' Romans 3:23

God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die for us. Did this One action change anything for us? Did this one man make a difference?

'Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. ' Romans 5:18-19

Jesus’ one act of righteousness is the gift that keeps on giving

Freedom from the penalty of Sin

    What is the penalty of sin? Death

According to Romans 6:23, the wages of sin is death.

Romans 3:23 teaches us that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Freedom from death is an opportunity to live free

Since we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, we were all deserving of death.

However, we have been freed from sin and from the power of sin.

We no longer have to pay the price for our sin because Jesus Christ paid it for us

It means we have been liberated from sin consciousness by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Free From The Power of Sin Your sinful flesh was crucified with Christ, so it is no longer you who lives, but Jesus Christ that lives in you. Therefore, you are no longer under the law, but under grace. 

Why? Because the law highlights a dead body, and you my friend are alive in Christ.
